We really enjoyed our day trip to the Great Wall. It’s approximately a 90 minute drive, then the driver helped us to the shuttle service to get to the chair lift. The wait was long but it was a holiday and also the weekend. The view from the Wall is amazing- particularly during spring with the blossoms. Afterwards our driver showed us a nice restaurant for lunch. The car was very comfortable and clean. Mr Xu, our driver, was fantastic- very helpful and friendly. We overcame our language differences by using WeChat’s translate option in the chat. Highly recommend!

Our tour guide Bruce, was very informative in explaining about each of the places we visited. He made sure everyone’s documents were in order and got us through the lines fast. We were asked to leave all our stuff in the van with the exception of passport and phone to avoid delays in checking bags. Just put toilet paper in your pocket if you plan on using the restroom as not all restrooms are equipped with paper. Be prepared for long lines at Tianamen Square. Because of a knee problem I had, Bruce assisted me with my bag and helped me when I had difficulty walking uphill.

Great way to see and learn about Hong Kong!

We had Karen as out tour guide who was very knowledgeable and very nice. She gave us options prior to our trip so a personalised itinerary was put together for us. Do go up Victoria Peake as there are stunning views of Hong Kong. She took us on the subway which was very clean, cheap and efficient! TIP - Do take into consideration the humidity when planning this trip and don’t try to fit too much in as is mainly on foot and you get very drained. Make sure you have plenty of water! Subway travel is by credit card only - no cash! Trip was very good value for money and we thoroughly enjoyed it!

I did this full-day Beijing tour as a solo traveller and honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience—largely thanks to our guide, Helen. From the moment the day started, she was warm, organised, and incredibly knowledgeable. She brought each stop to life, whether we were walking through Tiananmen Square, exploring the history of the Forbidden City, or taking in the incredible views at the Great Wall. You can tell she genuinely cares about what she does—she wasn’t just reciting facts, she was telling stories and making sure everyone felt involved. As someone travelling alone, it can sometimes feel a bit daunting joining group tours, but Helen made it so easy to feel included and comfortable. She checked in regularly, made sure we all had what we needed, and kept the day running smoothly without ever making it feel rushed. The whole experience felt well-paced, informative, and fun. If you’re considering this tour—especially as a solo traveller—I’d highly recommend it. And if you get Helen as your guide, you’re in very good hands.

Traveling with two children (11 and 16 years old), it can sometimes be challenging to keep everyone interested—but Carol did a fantastic job. We were all fully engaged and learned so much. Great Southern Wall

I had a free weekend in Shanghai and opted to do this day trip to Linhai. Emma arranged everything for me from picking me up at my hotel and getting me to the train station. The South Great Wall trip was amazing. Had a perfect day with sun and no clouds. Emma was my guide and she was great! Very knowledgable and her English was perfect. We opted to do the stairs first and loop around. Glad we did it that way as there were a lot of stairs. Great views, and great history lessons. After walking the wall, Emma arranged lunch prior to our arrival. She selected 4 great dishes that gave a great tasting. And the beer was cold. Bonus points! We then walked around the city a little taking in the old buildings. And then of to the lake. Great views, old architecture and even more history. Overall well worth the trip! And as a bonus we had some time to spare before heading back to the trainstation, the driver took us up to a great spot to over look the city. I would definetly recommend this if you want to fill a day, and Emma works on the weekends only. If you happen to book and get Emma as your guide, you will have a great trip!

An excellent trip. Despite adverse weather, our guide, Becky, was able to lead us to all the key locations. She was knowledgable about local facts and history, and kept us all well entertained. My past experience has made me wary of tours with included lunch, but here the food at the Fishing Village was actually quite good.
