Our cruise ship was tendered for this port. At the time we when we were supposed to disembark we were told that the sea as too rough and we would not be able to go ashore. The tour company states in their printed cancellation policy that the tour can be cancelled due to bad weather with a full refund, but apparently that’s only if THEY want to cancel. We later found out that Faisal is only about a 50% chance of tendering as the water is often too rough. DON’T book this tour unless you get a no fault guarantee.

It was a great way to see the island if you don’t have a car. The island is very diverse. We enjoyed seeing the sight of the 1958 volcanic eruption.

This was a wonderful way to see Faial. Because it was a small group we had time to ask questions and see everything we wanted to. Victor was very knowledgeable about the island, the villages, the history, and the people.

The guide was great and very knowledgeable, but the tour stated that it was a personal guided tour and we ended up with 4 other people in 1 van, who also booked a private tour. Pretty expensive for a group tour!!

The tour that you booked is a group tour, and never and in any place says it is a private tour.
As you can see by the other reviews, this is the first one that made a confusion between a group/private tour.

This was an excellent introduction to Faial; as good as we could possibly expect in a half day tour. Andre was a knowledgeable and entertaining guide, an excellent driver and attentive to our preferences and limitations.

Kevin was an outstanding guide! Our half day tour of Horta was one of the highlights of our trans Atlantic cruise. We originally booked a Caldiera Descent tour but this was cancelled and we found this tour at the last minute and we are so glad we did. Kevin was incredibly professional and genuinely funny. The knowledge and love for his country was always evident. We highly recommend this tour and Kevin, 5 stars.

Kevin led us on a wonderful half day tour of Failal. He picked us up at the ferry station and drove us all around the island stopping at the highlights (the caldiera, volcano, and black sand beach) as well as some off the beaten path lookouts. Throughout, he provided wonderful information about the history, geography, and population of Faial. He had wonderful recommendations for how to spend the rest of our afternoon before our 5:15 ferry back to Pico

Eine großartige Tour mit zwei fantastischen Guides!!! Sie sind komplett auf die Wünsche unserer kleinen Gruppe eingegangen. Es war wie eine kleine Familie, sehr persönlich und individuell. Tolle Informationen und wunderschöne Spots! Es wurde für Snacks und Getränke gesorgt. Zum Schluss bekamen wir ein großartiges, selbstgemaltes Abschiedsbild als Erinnerung! 1000 Dank für alles!!!
