Great introduction to Amsterdam! Our guide was friendly and made the tour really enjoyable. We saw the main highlights, learned about the city’s history and got some great local tips for the rest of our stay. A perfect way to start our time in Amsterdam!
Very relaxed, no headphones. Guide asked if we had requests for specific area or needed recommendations.
The tour guide was super knowledgable, but a little snippy. We did not know all the areas he was showing us. It was like we were suppose to have previous knowledge before we got there.
It was expensive so the expectation was it would be a great walking trip. We waited 15 minutes for 2 people who were late and then the tour also finished early. He showed us 2 spots, yes, just two. The square and the place where nuns lived and now single women live. There were protests, agree but that means the itinerary should have been planned keeping that in consideration. Also political remarks are in bad taste knowing the whole group was American and some were from mid west. If I had the time and energy to pursue it, I would ask viator to reimburse me.
Ben talks a lot, and there are even pearls of wisdom in his speeches! He gave us some behind-the-scenes insights that were very helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour. As an FYI, our small group was 11 people, which seemed big ... until we saw groups of 40!

Ben was an excellent guide. Would recommend. He had a fantastic sense of humor and shared very interesting stories. Relaxing walk throughout the historic city center.
Our guide, Ben was very good! A bit irreverent and funny, he toured us around some of the more unusual spots of Amsterdam and filled us in on obscure but interesting historical biographies and architectural sight info. Very fun and the haring was a treat😁
I was very lucky to have Robin, a 5th generation Amsterdam person, great sense of humor, very knowledgeable, and very accommodating. A walking tour of Amsterdam along with Canal tours are a great way if you only have a little bit of time.
This was a great overview tour of the city of Amsterdam including the history and culture. I enjoyed all aspects of the tour including the different areas that we covered along our tour.
We had a wonderful introduction to Amsterdam walking tour with Robin. Even though he got double booked, he made it work. We saw a different side of Amsterdam. We really enjoyed our tour.

Aaron was entertaining and informative. Amsterdam was uncharacteristically hot but he took good care of us, finding shade and stopping for refreshments when needed.
Having a local guide gives you an insight into this wonderful city! Robin was very witty and funny describing many of the qualities that make Amsterdam so unique.

Nice way to introduce ourself to Amsterdam on the day of our arrival. The tour guide was personable and clearly knowledgable about the city. His English was flawless.
Aaron was a great host. He mot only showed us the key sites, but he asked about our interests and was responsive to them. Everyone had a great time.
Great guide! A true fifth generation local! Great way to kick off our trip. Offered to take our photos at all key spots and even sent us a list of amazing personal recommendations for dinner!
James was excellent. His knowledge and unique perspective of the history of the city made this tour so special. We were able to enter places that are usually closed to larger group tours. Highly recommend.
Aarre did a wonderful job. He tailored the tour to us. He showed us around the old Amsterdam canal area (including the red-light district) and showed us little historical details we never would have thought to notice. Aarre made Amsterdam truly come to life! Thank you for a fabulous morning.
Robin was a great tour guide!! He was so personable and fun and knew so much about the history and customs of Amsterdam. At the time of our tour Amsterdam was having a heat wave (around 99F) and he made sure to keep us in the shade most of the time which was so thoughtful. When we finished the tour he even sent us some recommendations on dining and such. We would highly recommend him for any tour!
We had been on other walking tours of Amsterdam and were shown new places. Our guide also changed her plan to accommodate a special interest of ours to see where my great grandfather lived
We saw the main historic sites of Amsterdam. Aaron was very friendly & knowledgeable & was happy to answer any questions.
This was a fun tour. It wasn’t private though, we were touring with another couple. That was fine for us, though we did book private. Also, the GPS location had us in the wrong spot for meeting our guide. Guide didn’t have any identifying items so that was stressful. Lastly, it was 2 hours, not 2.5 as our guide had another tour lined up. It was very enjoyable and our guide took our picture at two spots. Learned quite a bit and found places to come back to later on. Ended at a local market!

Hello! Thank you for the review. You had booked the small group option for this tour as stated it is two hours and shared. If you would have booked the private option it would have been 2.5 hours and with no other people.
The two hour duration was perfect. The guide makes or breaks the tour and James was fantastic! He gave lots of interesting facts and kept our attention throughout. It was very interactive and a great way to get an overview of Amsterdam!
