I think it is important to know that this is pretty much an architecture tour- looking at buildings and styles (which are beautiful) but we didn’t “do” anything… I would have liked more than a lunch recommendation. It was a long bus ride for very little in return. My bad for not reading up on Bruges so I could have led our family around. Mike was an excellent tour guide but you all need to give him more to work with and more to do (see the Michelangelo, for example) instead of us walking in circles and never figuring out how to get in/buy tickets!
Carl_W, Aug 2026
The tour once we there was great. 1 said hotel pickup on tickets, didn't we had to drive across the city and spend almost 60E to park. 2 Should have left 2 hours earlier so we could have more time. 3 Need to be clear no food or drink other than water allowed to be consumed on bus. 5 make sure you eat something before hand because no time to eat until about 2:30 after tour.

We will review these points with our team to help avoid misunderstandings and improve the overall experience for future travellers.
Thank you again,

I picked up the tour in Amsterdam going to Bruges. Anna Marie was our guide and Ernest was the driver.
They were on time. The bus was very clean. They were very personable and tried to help anyway they could.
Once we got to Bruges, we were divided into smaller groups, and our guide was Pascal. Who was an excellent storyteller and told us all about Bruges.
It was a long drive, but totally worth it.
I highly recommend the combination it made the day a memorable day trip.

Misleading information about the toilet situation. It’s a 12 hour tour and we booked it based on having facilities. The toilet broke on the bus 10 minutes into the ride and lucky enough the driver repairs it. However we were informed there pulls be no toilet service on the way back as the company only offers the toilet one way. (This is insanity. Each ride is 3 hours and 15 minutes ). After enjoying some beer and lunch in the city of Bruges it is expected and required to have a toilet. Stops ina local gas station for 50 people waiting in line to use a paid for facility is. It acceptable. The company knew their toilet was broken before to leave and departed anyway. The ride home they allowed us to use it because we had no toilet going there and it promptly was broken and filled with disgusting situation. Never ever again will I embark on such a disgusting tour. Save your money. Take a train and hire a local guide. The driver Hassan was great. The commentator “Anna Marie 2was irritating with writing between two languages constantly and also gave rudimentary information. She only spoke relentlessly for the first hour and it was a deluge of mediocre information and then was basically silent the remaining of the trip. The best part was our guide in Bruge Pascal which is the only reason I did not score this a 1 star. He was fabulous.
I will never ever ever do a bus tour again because of this experience.
Response from Host, Aug 2026
Dear Melanie, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us.
We are very sorry that the issue with the toilet facilities affected your journey to and from Bruges. We completely understand how important access to a toilet can be during a long excursion, particularly with more than three hours of travel each way.
We would, however, like to clarify that the bus did not knowingly depart with a broken toilet. Unfortunately, a technical issue occurred shortly after departure. The driver was able to address the problem at the time, but further issues arose later in the journey. When an onboard toilet develops a technical problem during a tour, we have to prioritise hygiene and safety, and alternative restroom stops may need to be arranged along the route. We understand that this was far from ideal for a group of this size and sincerely regret the inconvenience and discomfort it caused.
Regarding the commentary on the bus, we would also like to clarify the structure of this excursion. The guide accompanying the bus is primarily there to provide practical information, assistance and general context during the journey. They are not intended to provide continuous or in-depth historical commentary throughout the entire three-hour drive.
Once in Bruges, the group is accompanied by a dedicated local guide whose role is specifically to provide the comprehensive guided experience of the city. We are therefore very pleased to hear that you found Pascal fabulous and enjoyed his tour. This is precisely why the excursion includes a dedicated guide in Bruges.
We are also glad to hear your positive comments about Hassan, and we will make sure your feedback about both him and Pascal is passed along.
We are disappointed that the technical issue with the facilities overshadowed your overall experience. We appreciate your feedback and will use it to continue improving both our communication and the experience we provide to our guests.
Kind regards,
Camilo L.

Chamaleon Travels are amazing right from arranging the bus ride to the site tour and back.
Friendly, knowledgable and great sense of handling a group which has people from different parts of the world. Special thanks to Blanca for being such a sweetheart and guide to the entire group.

Others have said that you spend more time getting to and from Amsterdam, and that part is true. You have a nice clean air conditioned bus to nap or watch the countryside from while in transit. Once you get to Bruges, you are taken back in time to a wonderful and beautiful city. There is a lot to see and you’ll get amazing pictures. Take your time finding a nice restaurant for lunch. Some of them on them main tourist areas are just average. Use some of your bus time to locate a good spot.
The tour guides are really good. Be prepared that your bus trip may be given in English and in Spanish. Don’t panic, Your tour in Bruges will be English for English speakers. Someone else will guide the Bruges trip in Spanish for Spanish speakers.
Our trip was sunny and hot. The guide says most tours have some rain. Be prepared and check the weather for appropriate clothing and rain gear.
Rondi_F, Jul 2026
Bus ride to Bruges wasn’t very scenic although guide did provide information at highlights along the route. After a 3.5 hour ride, a two-hour walking tour was too much and would have been better if it was shorter. Our guide was very knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and personable. The chocolate from “a certified chocolate chef” is melt-in-your mouth delicious. The restaurant we ate at had excellent food and great service! Try the warm waffles with ice cream, chocolate or caramel topping and whipped cream. The small shops and town are great to explore and you’ll most likely find some treasures.
Laura_M, Jul 2026
We signed up for an English speaking tour however it was a Spanish tour with occasional English translations. The entire 3 hour bus trip to Brugge we listened to Spanish with a Minute or two every 30 minutes we heard some English words. It was very annoying. And then three hours back the same thing. The bus did not have a working bathroom on the way back.. and the bus was very hot . Very little air circulation.
Response from Host, Jul 2026
Dear Laura,
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are sorry to hear that the experience did not fully meet your expectations.
During the approximately three-hour transfer to Bruges, there is enough time for our guide to provide the relevant information in both languages, However we understand that, as the guide was Spanish-speaking, it may have felt more focused on Spanish.
Once in Bruges, the groups were divided by language, and the English-speaking group enjoyed a one-hour guided walking tour with a local guide exclusively in English.
We apologize that the bathroom was not available on the return journey. A stop is always scheduled during the trip, and our guide and driver can arrange additional stops if needed.
Thank you again for your comments. Your feedback helps us improve every day.

If, like us, you have a free day in Amsterdam, this is a wonderful experience, to get a taste of Brugge, despite the 3 hours of bus travel each way
The 2hour walking tour was a great way to get our bearings, followed by 3 hours of free time, was a really good balance
A beautiful old city, and with hindsight we would have stayed in Brugge itself for 2 to 3 nights, but with limited time, this tour was a great option
Wayne_D, Jun 2026
The drive is a long day on the bus. 3 1/2 hours each way but for the day to Belgium it’s ok. Mike the English guide in Bruges was good.
All in all we enjoyed the day and bought lots of chocolate!
Richard_B, Jun 2026
A long bus ride but we'll worth the time. The city is an excellent experience! Chocolates are wonderful, buildings and churches are great architectural sites, and the beer rounds off the experience.
RICHARDK_W, Jun 2026
Mike, our guide, was informative and interesting. He explained much about the history of Brugge and the surrounding area. Unfortunately we got to experience the highest recorded temperature in the history of Brugge. This made walking more difficult and much slower.
CAROLE_S, Jun 2026
Even though this was supposedly an “English” language tour, there were only 15 English speakers on the 58-passenger bus. The rest were Spanish speakers. HOWEVER, our guide, AnnaMaria, did a fabulous job of going between the 2 languages!! When we arrived in Brugge, the 15 English speakers were assigned to an English speaking guide, Massimo, who did a wonderful job guiding us through the important sites of this beautiful city. The only thing the description didn’t tell you was that Brugge is 3 1/2 hours from Amsterdam….making it a very long day — 7 hours in the coach. But the trip is very worth it to see this UNESCO protected city. As Massimo said, “the further we walked, the more back in time we went!” Truly an experience not to be missed!!
jhurler, Jun 2026
We had a wonderful time in Brugge. Pascal, our tour guide in Brugge, was dramatic while telling the history of the area making it informative and fun. His recommendations were great. Highly recommend this tour.
Sasi_K, Jun 2026
Long bus ride. Should have included more sights to see. Bus should have provided least a bottle of water!
mestith, Jun 2026
Though the bus portion is long and arduous, we really enjoyed this tour! Bruges is absolutely stunning and we had a wonderful local tour guide who knew allll of the history.
We recommend finding a restaurant off the beaten path for lunch. That’s the best way to find something more authentic and less crowded.
katherine_s, May 2026
Bruges is a must see.
We were very fortunate to be on a bus off season with plenty of space and we actually went walking on our own and back on the bus. We had a wonderful day.
Response from Host, May 2026
We’re so glad you had a wonderful day! It’s great that you had the freedom to explore on your own and soak up the city at your own pace before heading back. That balance of structure and independence often makes the day even more special. Thanks for sharing your experience — we hope your next adventure is just as lovely!
Tom_D, May 2026
Long day but well worth it! Had about 5 hours in the city. Only complaint was the bus seats were very, very tight. Highly recommended.
Response from Host, May 2026
Thank you so much for your review! We’re really happy to hear that you enjoyed the experience and felt the trip was worth it. It’s great that you had enough time to explore the city and make the most of your visit. We also appreciate your feedback regarding the bus seats. We understand comfort is important on longer journeys, and we’ll definitely share your comments with our team as we continue working to improve our tours. Thank you again for recommending us, and we hope to welcome you on another Camaleon Tours adventure soon!
Chris_L, May 2026
Bruges is a beautiful, old city with lots of history and stunning architecture. Our local guide Gosia was excellent. My only criticism is the 3-hour bus ride on the way down with no comfort stop. 3 hours...in the morning...after people have had their morning coffee. Ahem. Yeah, there's a bathroom on the bus but they said it was limited capacity and trying to stumble down to it on a moving bus wasn't too appealing. 15 minutes less free time in trade for a pit stop on the way down would have been a worthy trade.
Response from Host, May 2026
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us! We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed the beauty and history of Bruges, and especially that Gosia made such a positive impression during the tour. We’ll be sure to pass along your kind words to her — she’ll be very happy to hear them. We also truly appreciate your honest feedback regarding the journey to Bruges. We understand that a comfort stop during the morning trip would have made the ride more pleasant, especially on a longer journey. Your comments are very valuable, and we’ll share them with our operations team as we continue reviewing ways to improve the overall experience for our guests. Thank you again for traveling with Camaleon Tours, and we hope to welcome you on another adventure in the future!

My Tour Guide was Blanca and the driver. They were extremely good and helpful with Maria my handicapped friend. The driver was excellent and very courteous.
Response from Host, May 2026
Thank you so much for your lovely review! We’re truly happy to hear that Blanca and the driver took such good care of you and Maria during the tour. Providing a comfortable and supportive experience for all our guests is very important to us, and it’s wonderful to know their kindness, professionalism, and courtesy made a positive difference throughout the trip. We’ll make sure to share your kind words with both of them — they’ll be delighted to know their efforts were appreciated. Thank you again for choosing Camaleon Tours, and we hope to see you both on another adventure soon!
Carlos_G, May 2026
It was a great tour. Ana Maria as well as the local tour guide were amazing. They explained the history of the city pointing out the most important venues for everything we needed
Response from Host, May 2026
We’re delighted to hear that you had a great tour and that both Ana María and the local guide made the experience so enjoyable. It’s wonderful to know that their explanations helped you better understand the history of the city and appreciate the most important landmarks. We will be sure to pass your kind words on to them — they will really appreciate your recognition. Thank you again for sharing your experience.

LOVED the trip. The bus was comfortable. The tour guide was absolutely wonderful! Not sure of her name - something like "Gosha" - she lived in Bruges and everyone on the tour loved her.
Response from Host, May 2026
We’re delighted to hear that you loved the trip and found the bus comfortable. It’s especially wonderful to know that the guide made such a positive impression on the group and helped make the experience so enjoyable. We believe you are referring to Gosha, and we will gladly pass along your kind words to her. She will be very happy to know that her knowledge and presence were appreciated by everyone on the tour. Thank you again for sharing your experience with us — we hope to welcome you again in the future.

The bus ride is somewhat long. The tour guide at Bruges was Pascal.
He was without a doubt the best tour guide we have ever had.
Response from Host, May 2026
We’re glad to hear that, despite the long bus ride, you were able to enjoy the experience overall. We also really appreciate your kind words about Pascal — it’s wonderful to know he made such a strong impression and that you consider him the best tour guide you’ve had. We will certainly pass your compliments on to him. Thank you again for sharing your experience with us.

FANTASTIC!! Long trip to & from Amsterdam, but perfect for us. We enjoyed seeing more of the country between Amsterdam & Bruges.
Response from Host, May 2026
We’re really happy to hear that you had a fantastic experience and that, despite the long journey, the trip suited you well. It’s great to know you enjoyed the opportunity to see more of the countryside between Amsterdam and Bruges — that’s definitely one of the highlights of the route. We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience and hope to welcome you again on another tour in the future.
Katie_M, Apr 2026
Bruges is a very beautiful city, but you barely get to experience it with this trip. The listing stated that we would have a tour of the city and then three hours of free time. Due to traffic, we were late to arrive and then our tour ran long. So we ended up having barely two hours of time to explore Bruges on our own. Our experience felt incredibly rushed. I wish we had left Amsterdam earlier so that we’d have more time in Bruges since that was the entire draw of booking the trip. Our guide Mike was very nice and shared interesting history, but I think overall the city tour takes away too much time from our already limited schedule. We did not get a chance to enjoy ourselves as we were constantly hurrying to make it back to the bus on time. The schedule should be reworked in the future to give more free time.
A word of caution: Make sure you return to the bus on time! Do NOT take the meeting time as a suggestion. We ended up leaving five people behind because they had not shown up. This is in no way a criticism of the tour group. They have to keep with the schedule and be mindful of the rest of the passengers. Give yourself extra time to return to the meeting point.
On the way home, the tour company locked the bathroom and said we could only use it in case of emergencies. We would have to go to the front of the bus and request permission for them to open the toilet if needed. That’s completely unacceptable.
Overall, we had a mediocre experience. Bruges is beautiful, but this tour is not the best way to see it if you actually want to spend time there.
Response from Host, May 2026
We’re very pleased to hear that you found Bruges beautiful and that you appreciated Mike’s knowledge and the historical information he shared. We will gladly pass your kind words on to him. At the same time, we are truly sorry that the overall experience felt rushed and did not allow you to enjoy the city at the pace you had hoped for. We understand that for many guests, Bruges is the main reason for booking this tour, and having less free time than expected — especially due to traffic delays and schedule adjustments — can be very disappointing. Your comments regarding the balance between guided tour time and free time are very valuable. We carefully design the itinerary to combine structured guidance with independent exploration, but we recognize that in this case the schedule did not feel sufficient. We will review this internally to evaluate how we can better optimize time in Bruges. Regarding punctuality, you are absolutely right — we must adhere to strict departure times to respect all passengers and legal driving hours. While leaving guests behind is always a last resort and something we try to avoid, we appreciate your understanding of the necessity to stay on schedule. We also regret the discomfort you experienced concerning the bus restroom policy on the return journey. We understand how this may have felt inconvenient, and we will review how this is communicated and managed to ensure greater clarity and comfort for our passengers. We’re sorry that your experience was only mediocre, as that is never our goal. Your feedback helps us improve, and we sincerely appreciate you sharing it.
kyle_a, Apr 2026
Transportation was easy both directions. A few points of improvement
1) please share an itinerary in more detail. E.g. depart time, travel estimate, tour, open time, return etc.
2) inform people ahead of time around snacks/lunch. Departing at 8:30 means a fairly early breakfast and not getting “released” until 2pm for lunch was a bit tiring. Maybe upon arrival you get a waffle or chocolate which would help.
Response from Host, May 2026
We’re glad to hear that transportation went smoothly in both directions and that this part of the experience met your expectations. We also truly appreciate your suggestions for improvement. Providing a more detailed itinerary — including departure times, travel duration, guided tour timing, free time, and return schedule — is a very helpful recommendation. Clearer advance information can certainly help guests plan their day better. Your comment regarding snacks and lunch timing is also well noted. We understand that an early departure combined with a later lunch break can be tiring, and your idea of offering clearer guidance in advance — or incorporating a small local treat upon arrival — is a thoughtful suggestion that we will share with our operations team. Thank you again for taking the time to share your ideas. Feedback like yours helps us continue refining our tours to create a more comfortable and enjoyable experience for our guests.

This was an amazing experience! Bruges is simply stunning! We had a fantastic guide for the city of Bruges that offered an informational, funny and engaging narrative highlighting the uniqueness of Bruges. Highly recommend this tour!

We’re delighted to hear that you had an amazing experience and enjoyed the beauty of Bruges. It’s wonderful to know that your guide made the visit both informative and engaging, with a touch of humor that helped bring the city’s uniqueness to life. We truly appreciate your recommendation and are very happy that the tour left such a positive impression on you.

It took 4 hours each way on the bus. We arrived in Bruge at 1 and left at 5:15PM.
Do yourself a favor and skip it.
No maps provided to orient yourself and Brugge is a big place.
Response from Host, Apr 2026
Thank you for your feedback. We understand that the travel time is considerable, as Bruges is several hours from Amsterdam. Our tour is designed for travelers who prefer a comfortable and fully organized experience without worrying about transportation, tickets, or schedules. The excursion includes approximately one hour of guided walking tour with historical introduction and orientation, followed by free time to explore the city and enjoy different activities at your own pace. Our guides are always available if assistance is needed. We appreciate you sharing your experience.
Jennifer_M, Apr 2026
This was a wonderful experience! The bus was comfortable and our guide Claudia was organized and informative. Then our walking guide in Bruges was also very knowledgeable and also entertaining. He also did a really nice job of keeping track of everyone in the group and waiting to talk until everyone could hear him. It is a full day trip from Amsterdam, so be prepared for the time. But we felt it was worth it.
Response from Host, May 2026
We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed the trip and found the bus comfortable and Claudia well organized and informative. It’s also great to know that the walking guide in Bruges added value with both knowledge and entertainment, and that he managed the group so well to ensure everyone could hear the explanations. We appreciate your helpful note about the length of the day from Amsterdam — it’s true that it is a full-day excursion, and your feedback helps set clear expectations for future travelers. Thank you again for your kind words and recommendation. We hope to welcome you on another tour in the future.
Annie_W, Apr 2026
Mike is very knowledgeable about the history of Bruges and the places in the area. Bruges is so beautiful that we would definitely come again for a two-days trip. We prefer to spend time taking a boat tour or horse carriage and enjoying a nice meal. We also need more time to take pictures.
Response from Host, May 2026
We’re very happy to hear that you enjoyed the experience and that Mike’s knowledge of Bruges and the surrounding history added value to your visit. It’s great to know that the city’s beauty made such an impression on you and that it inspired you to consider returning for a longer stay. We also appreciate your suggestions about how you would like to spend more time next time—such as a boat tour, horse carriage ride, dining, and having more time for photos. This kind of feedback is very useful for understanding how visitors would like to experience Bruges at a more relaxed pace. Thank you again for your comments and recommendation.
