We had an amazing time kayaking with our guides! Would recommended over and over! Don’t miss this experience! Our 7 year old was very nervous and refused to get on the kayaks and they let her hang out on the boat so the rest of us could still explore. They were so understanding and kept her entertained and made this experience so much fun for her as well so she didn’t feel like she was missing out. I can’t say enough good things! Jaime, Simão, André and Luís were our guides and they did a phenomenal job. They were very knowledgeable and we felt extremely safe the entire experience. They even gave us recommendations and tips for other things to do in Lagos during our trip.

Great day paddling the Benagil Algar and cliffs

You are teamed up in pairs so if you have a small child: you’re doing all the paddling. Relatively easy though. Gorgeous cliffs only witnessed From the sea and not from the 7 Hanging Valleys Trail Hike. The leader Caio , on a SUP, is also a geologist so we benefited from great insight in the coastal formations.

This tour with Lagos Grotto Trips exceeded our expectations. Our captain, Luis, handled the boat with real skill and precision, making the experience both thrilling and very safe, while Hugo made sure everyone was comfortable and had a great view throughout. We were taken inside the caves and given enough time to really enjoy them and take photos—something not all tours allow. They also made an effort to position the boat so everyone had a good view, which we appreciated. A rare highlight: we were taken farther out and were lucky enough to see whales, which made a great tour truly special. No improvements come to mind—would absolutely book again.

Exceeded Our Expectations

Tour took place on a fairly new, comfortable 40’ cat boat. Captain and crew were very friendly and knowledgeable as we boated by tall weathered cliffs and beaches. A healthy generous lunch with drinks were provided when we anchored. The tour exceeded our expectations. I recommend it especially when the weather is calm and sunny, as ours was.

A fun day at the caves

The tour guide and captain made our tour interesting and fun. The inflatable was smaller than other boats which allowed most of us to have unobstructed views of the caves and sites. There were 17 on our tour and only two people had middle seats. Our guide was knowledgeable and made the trip fun and informative. The captain did an excellent job of getting us very close to the caves while ensuring our safety. I would highly recommend this tour company.

The crew on the boat were very engaging. We saw several groups of dolphins. That’s where I’m all around the boat somewhere so close you could almost touch them. And the caves are spectacular. Very well organised. Reception was very friendly and professional. Catamaran was very clean and comfortable and very well skippered. Both crew were friendly and helpful and the descriptive narrative from them was most informative and helpful. Unfortunate that we saw no dolphins on this trip but the captain did his best and, apparently was in regular contact with other boats/ships in the area for information sharing. And, after all, the ocean's a big place and dolphins in the wild can be anywhere!

Amazing coastline and the...

Amazing coastline and the caves were unique! The boat ride can get a little rocky if you get seasick - we didn’t mind it at all. We paid extra for seats up top but wouldn’t do that again - not for us seniors! The captain was very helpful and gave us info on the area and any questions we had. Would definitely do it again!
