Fun-filled day of adventure.
This was a fantastic opportunity to see several beautiful sites all in the same day. Our tour guide did a great job of managing time and especially helping us avoid the large tour buses and crowds. She shared lots of interesting information and was very helpful throughout the day. We had a fun-filled day of Icelandic beauty followed by a relaxing soak in the Earth Lagoon.

A truly unique landscape with many wonderful sites
We had a fantastic trip with Tanya and Tomek They organised the tour in a very efficient manner and provided lots of information regarding Iceland in general and knowledge specific to the area we were visiting. It is amazing to see all the different aspects of volanic activity around the unique Lake Myvatn area. I would recommend buying a Midge net to keep the millions of flies out of your face.

Beautiful Falls, Great Excursion
Great excursion with Saga Tours, booked thru Viator. Great price. Company responded quickly to my questions to clarify meeting point, which was appreciated. Driver was excellent, friendly and knowledgeable. An hour at the falls goes by quickly. Most people walk on the left side of falls. I’d suggest walking along right side of falls… great view and way less people. Walking paths are good. You do have time to do both, if you keep moving. Included in trip was a cup of coffee and a local sweet at the hotel, very nice. Clean bathrooms. (no fee). Bus gave option to drop off at the town centre on way back to pier, which was nice.

Incredible landscapes
The tour is a good one for those arriving at the port of Akureyri . The pickup was seamless. Our visit to Lake Myvatn , where there are midges, gave us an opportunity to see the Earth Lagoon and a lunch break at the cafeteria there. We had the very delicious smoked trout on lava bread. The lava fields (sulfur) were amazing as was the landscape of the Dark Forest. It was also interesting to see the rift that divides Eurasia and North America. Our guide and driver were very good.

With its hot springs, bubbling mud pools, and lava formations, this region will fascinate even the most seasoned traveler. Akureyri day trips ensure you can experience these diverse landscapes with ease, thanks to organized transport and guides sharing history and folklore along the way.
