Itinerary

On the day of your tour, make your own way to the Schlumberger Cellars, located on Heiligenstaedterstrasse 39, within opening hours. Exchange your voucher for your entrance ticket, collect your audio guide and then embark on a self-guided tour of the 300-year-old cellars.

Uncover the secrets of Champagne-making as you explore the Schlumberger Cellars, whose traditional manufacturing process was imported from France in 1842.

Learn about the origin of Champagne, the correct storage method, and how to maximize your tasting experience. Then, at the end of the tour, you’ll receive a glass of Champagne or enjoy an exclusive five-sample tasting session if you upgraded at checkout.

Ensure you browse the gift shop for sophisticated products before making your own way back to your Vienna accommodation or next attraction.

Unique and full of interesting facts. We were able to go at our own pace and enjoy time in the cellars. The handheld devices were easy to use, albeit could be distracting when standing next to another person. There wasn't an earbud option so noise could carry if volume was too high. The tasting afterwards was fun and added to the experience. All in all, would take family/coworkers here again.

Excellent getaway within the city limits of Vienna. Self-paced tour with audio guide. Tasted three sparkling wines at the end and they were delicious. Constant temperature of ~64 Fahrenheit also provides for a cool escape during hot days.

Although booking page indicates in person tour for Saturday 2pm, it was a decent audio tour of 50min. in the cellar. We had connoisseur package with 3 wines. Tasting part was weak, with brief information and there were no snacks. There were no available sitting places left for us, due to a group. I would recommend the tour, it is time well spend but get a smaller package.

It was an audio guided tour, which you can access via an app on your phone, or one of their hand held devices. The information provided was very in depth about history of the wine and how it's made etc, and there are information boards to accompany the audio. The wine at the end was great. The 'tasting' portions were similar to full pourings. Highly recommend!

Self guided so go at your own pace. Went at 11am so was quiet. Afterwards we had 3 glasses of fizz to try. Had a lovely day. I bought some chocs but had a sign waved in my face that card payments had to be over €10. I don’t think she needed to do that and simply just telling me would suffice retake than being so rude sticking the sign in my face. Perhaps she gets annoyed with that fact-I just didn’t see it! Maybe make the sign bigger. Would have got 5 stars if she hadn’t of been so pedantic. I went on Friday 25 Nov 22.

We had a wonderful time, our guide was very entertaining and quite knowledgeable, I learned several things that I didn’t know about sparkling wine. The sparkling wine was very good, we bought 3 bottles plus the very reasonably priced glasses.

Once again I had to e-mail the .pdf file Viator sent and have the staff at Schlumberger print it out before the tour would commence. No guest Wi-Fi had to use my precious mobile data to send the e-mail. Although the print out says English tours take place at 2pm on Wednesdays that does not happen instead you just show up and leave your driver's license or other form of identification and get an iPod with a pre-loaded audio tour available in multiple languages. Follow the audio tour through the facility which is very informative. Then you return to the start and exchange the iPod to get your identification back. Then comes the best part - getting to enjoy a nice glass of Sparkling Wine which is totally worth it. It was so good I even bought a few bottles to enjoy later.

such an incredible experience for us visiting the Schlumberger Sparkling Wine Cellar. We were amazed from the cellars history and infrastructure and we did also enjoy o alot the glass of wine!

We had some difficulty finding the winery because we had just gotten into town and were not used to the street addresses yet. Better/clearer directions to the site would be helpful as the streets are confusing in this area of town. When we arrived, we were greeted and given the audio guide to use. It was an interesting little tour. The caves and the narrative were educational and interesting. Directions to go through the caves were not real clear, but it wasn't a problem. The sparkling wine was very good and the prices in the retail shop were reasonable. Worth taking the tour. However, we also signed up for the Vienna Pass - we didn't realize when we signed up for the Schlumberger tour through Viator that Schlumberger was also on the Vienna Pass and therefore we didn't need to pay for it through Viator.

This was a really interesting tour and quite informative. I was under the impression that I'd booked a guided tour with a tour guide, but was given an audio guide at the bar. This was fine as there was a lot of information to digest on the tour. There were some lovely sparkling wines to taste at the end. There was a large tour that finished as I had ended by tour so unfortunately I didn't get to talk to the bar attendant or ask more about the sparkling wines I was sampling.
