The ticket exchange place was able to give us an earlier time which was nice. The ride was smooth and beautiful. A bit of rain but didn’t deter from a great time. Gondolier was pleasant but didn’t talk as he was busy navigating the narrow canals. Everyone should do this ride at least once. 😁

We shared a gondola with 3 other people, but it did not feel crowded and we very much enjoyed the ride. It was a great deal for the price as long as you are not looking for a romantic private ride.

It was very busy, a lot of gondolas go at the same time. The driver does not speak good English and just spoke to fellow gondoliers as he goes by.

It says 30 min but those 30 min included the time walking from meeting spot to gondola so in reality the gondola trip only lasted like 18 min, I would recommend a gondola private tour instead

Not a pleasant experience

Wasn’t a pleasant experience at the counter collecting tickets. Not sure where to wait for the gondola, asked the counter politely where is the meeting point, she just yelled at the mic which was so blasting to my ears. Not recommended, try at your own risk.

Excellent value for money. All wait at meeting point and head to gondola. Easy to find ticket office. We weren't so lucky with weather abit foggy but it didn't affect the experience going round the itinerary

This was a pretty mid experience to be honest. It felt like a gondola factory; they shuttle people in and out in masses. We started 5 mins late and ended 5 mins early, so it only ended up being 20 mins on the actual gondola ride. The gondolier didn’t speak to us at all and instead shouted to another gondolier next to us for the entire ride. You’re probably better off going to one of the smaller gondola pop ups throughout Venice along the canals than doing this corporate experience.

It is very much a simple gondola ride. The text tells you what to expect to see but if you wanted your guide to point anything out or interact this is not the ride for you. The experience was still gorgeous and I am so glad we did it but if you were looking for more, I would suggest shelling out a bit more money.

Pretty but overpriced for what you get

This trip was about $100 American dollars. It was very cold, and we were asked to wait on a bench outside as the gondolas were arriving a bit late. I thought the gondolier might talk a bit about what we were seeing, but he did not say anything at all. We went up the canal for about 15 minutes and turned around following the same path back for 15 minutes. It was pretty at night, but I think it was overpriced.

Not worth the money. The gondola captain did not speak to us at all. He was busy chatting with his friend on another boat. We did not learn about anything that we were looking at and the route was through an uninteresting canal area not the grand canal. Also probably could hire an independent boat for a lot less money.

The Gondoliere talked on his cell phone the entire Ride and said only 5 words to us total in response to a couple of questions from one of our Party. No commentary about the buildings or the lagoon

Unfortunately this was not was expected. It was a shared ride with strangers - which was not indicated clearly when booking (I was not the only who expressed this) they also did not allow my daughter and I to sit together even though there was a solo traveler on our gondola who was happy to swap with me but they did not allow. They were late, for a 6pm booking start we didn't even get on the gondola until 6:12pm and largely missed the sunset. We then circled a few canals for less than 10mins before we were back at the dock and off by 6:26pm. The driver didn't really want to speak with anyone, and was rude when he did, he also made inappropriate comments about my daughters appearance to her (she is 19 and he would have been in his 40s) making her feel incredibly uncomfortable. The whole thing was a really poor experience and I do not recommend at all. This was something I was really looking forward to and this tour ruined that experience of a gondola ride at sunset.

Keep your expectations low. We did get a gondola ride, for the advertised 30 minutes. However, the published itinerary was not followed. Only went up and back on the grand canal. Very disappointed to have spent so much for so little.

Be very aware that you are purchasing a shared gondola ride with other strangers. From where you meet to get tickets, there is a very long walk to gondolas this third party partners with and we could have saved our time just stopping at a closer gondola on the way. Gondola ride was only 20 minutes when we thought we paid for 30 and the gondolier said nothing to us the whole trip. The path was dark, and not in a pretty part of town. You can find one on your own which would provide much better views .

Can be difficult to get in and out of boat if you have any slight leg/ hip issues. Can be steep .but it is worth it! Lovely way to experience Venice.

Viator is very efficient, after dealing with different 'gondola drivers' I check the app and I found a place near to San Marcos square, offering the same service, for less of the half price, we booked, we claim the tickets, and 30 minutes after we were enjoing the gondola trip under the blue sky of Venice!

Our guide was substantially late and we had to walk a bit of a distance to where the gondola was do by the end of it all we only had a a 15 minute ride. Very disappointing for the price we paid for and we also had to share with other people.

Fun Venetian experience. First time in a gondola and it was fun! The boats require at party of 5, thankfully, my mom and I made friends with another couple and we were able to be in the same boat together. It was quite the Venetian experience and I loved it!

Truly disappointed with the experience. They don’t tell you you’ll be hiking from one point of Venice to another to get the gondola ride and then put on with other people! Boring ride with zero information from the Gondalier. I do not recommend this experience as price point is high for what you get.

It’s not a tour, it’s just a canal ride. Gondola drivers only take euros. This was our only way of using a credit card to ride a gondola.

Do not go through Viator or anything to do with that Gondola company. We purchased what we thought were 2 tickets for a private “tour” but they put us with another couple when we went to enter the boat. The gondola driver never spoke to us. He only spoke to the other gondola drivers and smoked. When I went to the ticket booth after for an explanation she said this is not the first complaint but never offered any money back. It is terrible that my husband and I were in Venice for the first time and our experience was so terrible for the Gondola ride that should have been a beautiful experience.
