Itinerary
Meet your group and gondolier in Venice at Campo San Moisè in front of Hotel Bauer. Getting there is just a short walk from St Mark's Square (Piazza San Marco). Depending on whether you chose a morning or afternoon departure, show up a little before 11am, 3pm or 5:15pm
Your guide welcomes you, and helps you and the other passengers (up to six) board the gondola. As you board, notice the black color of your gondola. This wasn’t always the case in Venice. Venetian nobles used to travel in brightly colored gondolas to match their palaces, but a 16-th century law required them to be painted black, and they remain so today.
Once everyone gets situated, your gondolier takes off on the Grand Canal for your 30-minute ride. Slowly cruise down the canals as your guide points out must-see spots in the city, including Santa Maria della Salute and Ponte dell'Accademia. Continue your ride to the Fenice area, and then come back to the location where your ride started to get on with your day.

First, Venice is a confusing city to get around in. The streets aren’t very well marked. Give yourself extra time to find where you need to be.
We enjoyed our gondola ride very much. It was very relaxing and the pilot did a great job.

First it was very hard and confusing to find the meet up place. Once we found them it was not very welcoming. The ride was nice but the driver chose to chat very loudly with either gondola drivers the whole trip. Not terribly relaxing.

We didn't make the tour. I think tbey packed up and closed earky. I had texted from the water taxi to say we were running to get there. Not sure if people were in our group or not but if there wasn't then I guess they felt they could lock up and leave

30 minutes flew by, in hindsight an hour ride would be ideal! We strolled through the canals and our driver hummed the entire time. It was a fun experience. We did get placed with another couple on the gondola, so if you’re looking for a private tour for just yourselves, this may not be the one.
Overall we enjoyed it!

It is not private. The canal is very crowded with other gondolas, like rush hour. If your goal is to say you did it, get a picture and see a little bit of Venice from the water, then it is fine.

You pick the ride up in a very easy location and everyone is helpful. But the Gondola driver was on his phone the whole journey which I think ruined the atmosphere of the ride. You go down some scenic routes and then onto the big canal and there’s lovely picturesque things to see it was a shame that he didn’t chat to us while we were on the Gonola or at least not be on his phone

The view was amazing and staff was friendly. I didn’t like that we had to share a gondola with another couple. There was no singing or interaction with the man driving the gondola. There was no music and the trip itself just went too fast. I feel they should last an hour for that money. It’s still very romantic.

Early morning gondola ride. First time on a gondala and paid the higher price for convenience for a short stay and not queuing.
Early morning may not be for everyone as the canals were busy with everyday activity not other tourists. However we enjoyed a glimpse of the preparation that goes in for the day. Gondolas being cleaned and prepped. Deliveries being made...
Gondolar was cheerful and happy whistling songs and greeting others as he went.
We enjoyed the experience. It was a relaxing, interesting ride.

It was an ok experience. The guide just talked to his buddies on different boats the entire time and it was very annoying. Not that we needed him to talk to us but there was no communication and it was just obnoxious on our entire ride.

Nice Gondola ride through parts of Venice. One major concern. I originally booked this in January as a PRIVATE tour, but the operator changed it weeks later to a SHARED tour. By the time I realized it on their website, plans were already firm. They used the word AMENDED on the website and I checked what that meant. Which meant they changed it, but didn't bother to notify me. Nonetheless, it worked out fine even though the younger couple that shared the ride encroached on our space with all their selfies pictures.

Not sure if we got a shortened version of this trip, but we just went down some little alleyway and then out into the grand Canal for about one minute and then turned around and went back down the alleyway. It was about a 20 minute ride and very disappointing. We just kept settling on boats and didn’t really see anything except for one alleyway that we went up and down for the entire ride. We had expected to be on the grand Canal and seeing some of the beautiful sites of Venice, but all we saw were the sides of buildings inside a tiny alleyway. We were on the grand Canal for less than 10 minutes and just to turn around and go back down the alley.

The tour company is amazing. They made sure we all stayed together and got us to our spot on time. A few of us missed a turn with them but got us right away. The ride was really nice as well. The only item they could improve on is to engage with the customer and not joke around so much with their co workers.

Nice 30 minute ride...wish I opted for a longer one. Beware when getting on the boat, there is nothing to hang on to and the lady in front of us face planted. I'd try to find a better more private option next time.

It was a gondola ride once in a life time experience. The driver was rude, our ride was supposed to be 30 minutes but it was only 22 minutes. The seats were hard no cushions
the other boats had cushions. We thought we had paid for a private ride but it wasn’t.

We often deliver this feedback to our suppliers in effort to improve every day the quality of the tours that are offered. The gondoliers are not expected to speak or talk with guests. Their job is to steer the boat and take control of boat in order to mind safety for the guests. Which may seem like banter, the gondoliers are communicating with each other in order to make sure they are alert of traffic and others. The route follows the same route as all other routes and may differ time wise depending on traffic. That is why it is written between 25 and 30 minutes on Viator.

This was the first time we got screwed by Viator. We were at the meeting place and no Viator representative was there. We were directed to 3 other places each 1/4 mile away from each other and the. We were denied the service. Requested refund but was denied

It does take you down the canals and gives you a full experience of a gondola ride. However, they look to fill the gondola to max 5 people so you can be sitting with strangers. This does limit the romantic nature of the ride.

Directions were very unclear
We walked around San Marco Square looking for the marked kiosk and was impossible to find. No one had heard of the Classic Gondola company when asked. When we finally stumbled upon the kiosk it was closed. When we asked the station next to it they had no idea what is was. The kiosk was not marked. We went back the next day to talk with operator. The person in the kiosk told us to come back at 2:45 to talk to operator. We got back to kiosk at 3;00 and the man in the kiosk was rude and told us we were late and to come back at 5:15 to talk to operator. We gave up at this point. If I could give a zero I would. Have requested a refund.

We really enjoyed it but I don’t think it was as long as advertised.. maybe we lost track of time.. seemed like way too fast.. I loved the fact that the ticket part was super clear, we had no problem getting to the location and we didn’t have to mess around w the negotiating part.

What a fun and delicious evening! Cesarina Barbara explained and demonstrated the process to make pasta. She gave each of us a chance to be hands-on under her supervision. The food was delicious and her home was welcoming. We can't wait to make pasta in our own home! Highly recommend!

Shorter than advertised, and the boat guide never said a word to us. It was advertised that he would be telling us the history of the area throughout the ride, but that was not the case. If I were to do it again, I would choose a ride with a serenade. We passed someone on a ride like that, and it just seemed a lot more interactive.
