This was more than simply a delightful tour of the old Tsukiji Fish market, it was a warm and helpful welcome to Japanese culture. Our guide was not only knowledgeable, she was able to make us feel like we were family. I recommend this tour highly.
This tour vastly exceeded our expectations, covering many foods (not only fish) as well as lots of useful cultural (and cross-cultural) info. Asami and Jordan (an experienced guide and new trainee for Tsukiji) treated us like family and were both deeply knowledgeable.
This tour would be great for anyone just arriving in Japan and looking for a broad orientation!
And, as a California-based coffee snob, I have to add that the coffee we were served at the beginning of the walk was sublime!
This tour is great for first timers because it provides a great comprehensive visit of the fish market. Our tour guide was amazing. She was very knowledgeable and explained things very well by putting them into perspective. The breakfast was filling and fulfilling. The walk around the market with food sampling was a great experience. I highly suggest doing the tour :)
Asami and Asha were excellent tour guides. We had a great tour and learned a great deal about Japanese fish cuisine....we even saw the formidable blow fish alive.
Highly recommend this tour, excellent value.
