Horrendous experience

I rarely had such a horrendous experience in my life with a private tour I booked. The driver was entirely incompetent to drive a car. We actually decided not to complete the tour with him and instead return to Tokyo since his driving skills especially on country b roads were very annoying. I honestly don’t understand the concept of having an Indian driver who is entirely incompetent to navigate on Japanese roads, instead of having a Japanese driver who is at least capable of driving and knows his ways around driver in Japan. I will never book a tour from viator again since I never experienced something so terrible. Actually I want my money back. Rip somebody else off!!

Nikko is a beautiful place to visit

Our guide David was very friendly and keen to help in whatever way he could and it was nice to have an air-conditioned car to travel to Nikko. If you want a friendly local to take you where you want to go it was perfect. We did feel it was very expensive though as David didn't know the history of the area or was able to provide any background to the sights we visited, we needed to rely on our guidebook. The itinerary was also ambitious for the day and we didn't get to visit everything on the list, so choose the top 3 sights you want to see and start with those. It wasn't an informative tour, but Nikko is a beautiful spot and we were grateful not to have to navigate public transport.
