Overview

Learn ninja and samurai moves at a popular Tokyo dojo (training area) during this workshop. Dressed up in traditional samurai or ninja clothing, you'll practice traditional samurai sword skills using a wooden sword and learn about the popular shuriken (ninja star). It’s a fun way to get active and learn about ancient Japanese culture.

A fun experience!

My wife and I took this class, not knowing what to expect. It was really a fun experience where we got to learn about ninja and samurai history, as well as try out some of the weaponry. The highlight was getting to hold a 600 year old samurai sword that has been used in battle!

exceptional experience, first-class, a MUST do

5 star, exceptional experience, first-class, a MUST do. I took my 15 year old son here for his birthday. The service and lesson was both first class. We were fitted into Ninja costumes, and asked to knee at the centre of the floor. The teacher spoke to us with his back to us and we had to repeat his words, he then turned and faced us, we instantly felt the power and intensity. We were taught the role of the Ninja, asked to hold Ninja weapons, receiving explanations how to use them correctly. We were then shown the Shuriken (star), Blow Darts and Throwing Darts, and we had a go at using them while using balloons as targets. We had a private lesson and I greatly recommend this Thank you Musashi Ninja Clan Honjin Dojo in Asakusa for these wonderful lifelong memories.

We did this activity our last day in Japan with our 9 year old. He said it was his favorite day, and wished it lasted all day long. This was fun, well-paced, and just the right balance of education and movement.
