Cherry Blossom viewing in Tokyo

We had a wonderful cherry blossom viewing experience. Daigo our guide took us to the best spots where the blossoms were still in bloom. The Shinjuku Gyoen garden and Chidori-ga-fuchi moat as well as Ueno gardens were spectacular. Daigo was a very considerate guide asking if we were tired or hungry and needed a break. After being on the go for 6 hours, we told him we were tired and he asked us if we would like to go back to the hotel and rest for a bit which we did. He picked us up from the hotel after a couple of hours and we went to see the illuminated blossoms which was a treat. On the whole it was a lovely day. Daigo gave us a lot of information on the cherry blossoms and the history of the trees and how Hanami became a national pastime during this season.

On the day of the tour, it rained, but the cherry blossoms are beautiful and ethereal in the rain as well as on a sunny day. I am glad that you enjoyed the scenery on the rainy day. We visited fewer places than planned since you seemed a little tired. I hope that the next time you visit Tokyo, you'll be able to see the cherry blossom viewing places we couldn't visit this time as well as the cherry blossoms in a different light on a sunny day. Beautiful but exhausting tour

On this excursion we walked 29,000 steps (12 miles) at top speed for 9 hours till we gave up and took a taxi back leaving the 25 year olds to finish the last 3 stops. We saw a lot of beautiful trees, but we also had to struggle with standing room only packed trains and we were exhausted by the experience. This tour is too big and tries to cover too much ground unless you are young and very fit. Conquer is the word and we were conquered. Our guide was a bit hard to understand and quite hard to keep up with, but I give him credit for enthusiasm and thoroughness. The complete tour is 12 hours long from 8:30 am to 8:30 pm. For us, it was just too much. An 8 hour tour would have sufficed. We did see a wonderful assortment of cherry blossoms and a nice quick trip through a museum, but 12 miles was too much for us. Just know before you go. Seeing the Cherry blossoms was on my bucket list, but if I had to do it over, I would take a tour where they drive you. I would only recommend this to young people.

Since the tour focuses on taking the participants many different cherry blossom viewing spots, and most spots are large park-like places where walking is necessary, the amount of walking is quite long. Even if the tour detail writes on walking, beforehand I should have informed you about walking and discussed about whether you use taxi on some sections. I sent the google drive address including the photos and the documents. If possible, please check that. Have a wonderful trip! I hope you'll visit Japan again and enjoy your stay.
