This was one of the highlights of our trip! The instructor was charming and made the experience so much fun! The shop is located in a lovely old part of town in Tokyo.

We did a one hour calligraphy lesson with the marvelous Chie. she was patient and enthusiastic it was a wonderful experience and despite no previous experience, under chie's thoughtful guidance we managed to produce a Kanji that is going up on the wall. I wish we lived in Japan and could come for a weekly lesson.

Chiē, our sensei for the calligraphy lesson, was really kind, patient and explained us how to do calligraphy step by step. We experienced before the final result and she was perfectly guiding us to understand where we did mistakes. I highly recommend to spend time with Chiē to learn more about a part of japanese culture!

We were welcomed by our delightful teacher, Saori, who spoke good English and guided us carefully through the technique of using the calligraphy brush to make calligraphy letters. We wanted particular names and she wrote them for us to copy and practice, so that we could get them right on paper, before we wrote them on our final board. Afterwards, we stopped at the attached coffee shop, which we highly recommend for tea, coffee and cake!
