This was by far the highlight of our trip! We booked the countryside tour as well as the roasted pig family dinner after. The communication about meeting place and time was excellent. We adored visiting the variety of spots on the tour, including the beautiful village where we had a little snack picnic. We never would have experienced these parts of Portugal without having booked this tour.

A taste of Portuguese culture

I would recommend this tour for anyone who wants to experience Portuguese culture away from tourist areas. Our guide, Diogo, was fantastic. He was very accommodating, informative, and delightful the 3.5 hours we all spent together. We took an Uber to the pick up location (40 mins) because we had bags, but you can train to the pick up point for about 45 minutes as well. We thoroughly enjoyed the picnic at the small, countryside village. The food and wine provided was delicious, fresh, and local, and a perfect compliment to the scenery. The local surf town was very enjoyable and a beautiful area. I would take this tour again.

We had an amazing time exploring the Portuguese countryside with Diogo and Rita on our honeymoon. The picnic they organized was a highlight, featuring authentic chorizo from Rita’s family farm it was absolutely unforgettable. Free flowing wine and shots of Ginja! They also took us to a charming village called Ericeira, where we got a real glimpse of how the locals live away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Diogo and Rita even surprised us with some Pasteis de nata (a traditional Portuguese pastry). The entire experience felt genuine and special. If you’re looking for an authentic and memorable experience in Portugal, Diogo and Rita are the perfect guides.

Unique countryside tour with a fantastic couple!

A very unique tour with Diogo and his wife Rita. We were met at an easy to find pick up point with ample cheap parking (1.50€ for the day). We were paired with Rita in her 1980’s Citroen. Super cute and comfortable drive through the countryside and villages. Stopped in a number of places that aren’t as popular as all the tourist attractions we read about. Tiny villages and a super cool museum. The picnic served and pastries eaten were delicious. We especially enjoyed getting to know Rita and Diogo. They are very knowledgeable about the history of the area but also interested in sharing about their lives. We thoroughly enjoyed getting to know them and seeing sites we had not seen before. Highly recommended to all to set aside half a day to spend with this couple!

Perfect Vintage tour with Picnic

A very memorable four hours touring with Diogo in his cute vintage Citreon CV3. Diogo was very friendly and so excited to share his special part of Portugal. He made us a lovely picnic lunch of local and family products prepared by Diogo& Rita , in a small mountain village was the highlight of our journey .

This tour was absolutely the best I have been on. Diogo, his wife and family were fantastic hosts. This is a great tour for those who want something more from a visit to Sintra. Diogo took us to places outside of the Sintra historic area. Diogo and Rita provided various foods from local sources to show us the variety from the region in beautiful rural location. . He took us to a beautiful old village, we saw a huge cathedral, a seaside resort, and the countryside. He provided pastry from the region as well. We were driven in a classic old French car; Citroën 2CV. He restored his grandfathers car and uses it for the tour. Riding in that car was fun and worth the tour itself. Finally, at the end we went to Rita's parent's house. Her father cooked various local pork dishes for us. They provided several courses including fruit, salad, several pork dishes and dessert. Along with wine, port, and other beverages. My wife and I had a great time and really enjoyed our time with Diogo and his family. Wonderful people. We learned a lot about Portuguese people and the culture. Highly recommended

Firstly Diogo and Rita are great hosts! I loved their dog too. Their Citroen 2cv was absolutely fabulous! Realised it was my first time since the 1990's when my mother would take me to school! This was a great opportunity to sample the local delicious Portuguese food and wine. (With the gorgeous weather, beautiful scenery and warm hospitality) I loved our visit to the waterfall and the seaside. I particularly enjoyed the picnic with such wonderful hosts! Very chilled vibe. 👌
