Scam and waste of money and day

Vasco arrived on time and was very charming. As soon as we got into the car, he explained the plan for the day clearly. We had booked a tour to Pena Palace and Regaleira (tickets included) for $879. He advised that, at Pena, it’s better to do just the balcony tour since many interior sections are closed, and suggested visiting the National Palace instead. He also mentioned that Regaleira tends to be very busy in the morning, so he planned to take us there in the afternoon. After visiting Pena, we stopped for lunch, and that’s when things changed. After lunch, he told us we could no longer go to Regaleira because it was fully booked. This was surprising, as we had booked the tour a month in advance. It raised questions about why tickets hadn’t been secured ahead of time or why this wasn’t known earlier in the day. He then said he would take us to the National Palace instead of Regaleira, even though he had already mentioned visiting it earlier as an alternative to the Pena interior. Fortunately, we were able to arrange tickets ourselves for the next day and visit Regaleira independently. We were disappointed by the experience. The explanations we were given didn’t add up, and after speaking with customer service, we were told the reasons provided were not accurate. It felt like the situation could have been avoided with better planning, and unfortunately, it ended up wasting a significant part of our day. Even worst part was that he blamed his own government for closing the booking whereas it was his own incompetence. Please avoid him

Dear Jagdeep Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear that the experience did not meet your expectations. However, it is important to clarify that on the day of the tour, Sintra was operating under exceptional conditions due to sudden restrictions imposed by local authorities on traffic circulation and access during the Easter period, without prior notice to operators. This directly impacted access to throughout the day. At the start of the day, during the initial briefing, we clearly presented the possible constraints that could arise given these conditions. In order to anticipate and secure access to , we suggested making a decision early in the morning so that tickets could still be reserved in time. However, we were informed, while already in the vehicle, that the decision would be made later depending on how the day progressed, particularly as you preferred a more relaxed pace and the children showed limited interest in visiting additional monuments. From the beginning, we informed you of potential constraints and acted with full professionalism in adapting the program. It is also important to note that our tour includes the visit to Pena Palece limited to the terraces and gardens only. Given the impossibility of visiting Quinta da Regaleira , we proposed as an alternative the Nacional Palece in the historic center, as well as the option to choose another palace or monument from the alternatives presented, in order to maintain the quality and continuity of the experience. Regarding the information you mentioned receiving afterward, it does not accurately reflect the operational reality experienced on the ground that day, which may have contributed to a misinterpretation of the situation. Throughout the entire service, we maintained a punctual, attentive, and solution-oriented approach, including additional concierge support for the remainder of your stay. We understand that unforeseen circumstances can be frustrating. However, we cannot agree with the way the situation was described, nor with the association to a lack of professionalism, which does not reflect our standards. We were fortunate to have Bruno Fernandez as our tour guide, arranged through Viator. He was extremely knowledgeable about the sites we visited and about the country as a whole. Bruno was personable, thoughtful, and offered many suggestions that truly enhanced our visi. He made the experience enjoyable and engaging from start to finish. This was the best day of our trip so far, and that was entirely thanks to Bruno's guidance. I will gladly recommend him to family and friends visiting this area.

Vasco got us in to all 3 of our desired locations in Sintra, a lovely lunch, and coastal drive .. the perfect day. Be prepared to walk a lot to see the best views.

If you are looking for a tour of Sintra, you'll find many tours and they're all a little different. Our tour guide, Vasco, actually lives in the Sintra area and has a very wide knowledge of the area. He was a wealth if info with great stories. You can go with him and enter tge castle if you wish. The tour included lunch at a great little authentic restaurant. We toured Cascais which is a wonderful little town. And we were given the history of tge area. This,was a great tour!

Exceptional Tour!

Vasco was delightful. My husband and I booked the Sintra Cascais tour and got that and far more. The sites and history that we explored together were beautiful and interesting. Vasco is very knowledgeable and very good at relaying the information. We got to know Vasco well. We had some common connections in our home city of Chicago. He is a proud husband and father and was delighted to tell us about his history and how he has gotten to where he is now. Vasco went above and beyond and even added a stop to the most western portion of Europe to a beautiful and historical spot called Cabo De Roca. Additionally, he took us to get some special treats at a Portugeuse Patisserie and introduced us to people in his hometown. I highly recommend Vasco as a tour guide.

Wonderful day out with Nuno

We booked last minute for a next day tour of Sintra from Cascais on Viator and rcvd confirmation right away. A few moments later Vasco called to inform us that they are fully booked the next day and if I Cld change to Friday which fortunately after moving few things around we were able to. Nuno met us promptly at the lobby before our start time and was very professional and courteous throughout the tour. The van was clean and well maintained with drinks of water on board. He took his time to explain the sights along the way to the palace and at the palace giving us a good lesson of all pertinent history. After which we had a rest at one of the legendary cafe for pastries and coffee after we declined lunch. Nuno was relaxed and jolly throughout the tour always happy to assist in any shopping at the various shops. We proceeded to other places of interests. We will call upon Vasco and Nuno again for our next trip back! Thank you for a lovely day trip Nuno. Hope to see you soon.
