We had the best time on this tour. Our tour guide Leo was incredible! We had a fun group, but he definitely knew how to make things even more fun and was so friendly and knowledgeable! The area was beautiful, the wines amazing and the food was delicious. I can't recommend this tour enough!

This was truly one of the highlights of our entire trip to Portugal and an experience we will never forget!
Our guide, Joseph, was absolutely wonderful. He was incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and personable, and we felt completely safe and taken care of throughout the entire day. He shared so much about the Douro Valley, the wine, and the region, while still making the day feel relaxed and fun.
The most special part of the tour for us was our visit to Quinta Das Chequedas. We had the opportunity to meet the owner, who actually sat with us for our entire wine tasting. It was such a personal, intimate experience and something that felt completely different from a typical winery visit. She made us feel so welcome, and we left feeling like we had experienced something genuinely special. I even got to taste a grape straight off the vine, which was a bucket-list moment for me! I honestly don’t know if we will ever have another winery experience quite like it.
The food at the second winery was also fantastic, and the boat ride was the perfect addition to the day. The entire tour felt thoughtfully planned without ever feeling rushed.
If you are looking for a Douro Valley tour, I cannot recommend this one enough. The scenery and wine are incredible, of course, but it was the personal touches and the people we met that made the day so memorable. And if you’re lucky enough to have Joseph as your guide, you’re in excellent hands. We would do this tour again in a heartbeat!
The perfect Douro Valley trip! While we were in Porto we knew we wanted to take the time to visit the Douro Valley, and this trip was the perfect way to do so. Very easy pickup in Porto, and then the perfect day visiting two wineries and a short boat ride down the river. Lots of fun surprises, we were fed the whole day, and felt like we were able to visit local places that wouldn’t have been possible on our own. Small group size and knowledgeable guide were a huge plus. Can’t recommend enough! Very intentional
Had a fabulous full day tour to Douro Valley. Started with a nice river cruise, then a great 4 course lunch with wine. Finished with another wine tasting. Location was beautiful, and the best part was our wonderful tour guide Alex. He was so friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended.
Fabulous experience and day. Luis was a great driver guide. Our tasting and tour was very good. The guide was authentic, very personable and knowledgeable. She added a lot of humor and made it very fun. Our lunch at the vineyard was so enjoyable. It was a small and cozy setting, beautiful scenery overlooking the pool and vineyard, and the food was service were excellent. The boat tour was also outstanding. It was a perfect day. I highly recommend.
Jay was an amazing driver and guide for our day in Duoro. The wineries we visited were amazing and the boat trip in the afternoon was relaxing and beautiful.
This was an exceptional tour from start to finish. A huge part of the success was our guide Alex. He was quietly knowledgeable, patient and very keen to ensure that each and everyone of us enjoyed the day. There were eight on the tour, Alex drove us to the Duoro Valley, Surprised us with Portuguese tarts during a picture break. We then went to the first winery where they still stomp on the grapes - absolutely fantastic. We tried white table wine, red table wine, Tawny and Ruby ports with bread, olive oil and chocolate. Then we headed to the boat and Alex was our captain while his co-worker was the Barman. Second surprise, was Whiteport and tonic and three platters of yummy charcuterie. After the one hour boat ride along the river, we ended up at our final winery where we had lunch and more wine and more port. The whole thing was outstanding! Thanks so much Alex.

If you happen to overdue it the night before this winery tour - have no fear. The drivers and staff specifically, Josè, anre extremely caring and accommodating. I needing to make an emergency (few) stop(s) on the bus ride from Porto to Duoro Valley.
I recommend getting breakfast before, instead of wine until closing time the night before. Despite my condition we had the most amazing experience.
The imitate group size, and getting to know the staff truely made the experience. A nossa!

Great experience with this day trip to Douro Valley. Our guide, José, drive us to 3 different destinations: a river cruise with little snacks and a port tonic, then an organic winery where we had a fantastic lunch, and finally a stop at a historic winery in Pinhao where we had a funny hostess who served us wines and port. Everything was friendly, professional. Highly recommend
It was a very hot day but the van had air conditioning and the winery we had lunch at had misters as well. Bruno, our guide was friendly and so knowledgeable. The lunch was traditional and delicious. I would highly recommend this tour.
What a great day trip!! You get exactly what this experience offers. We had a lot of fun traveling to the Douro Valley to visit wineries, taste wine, and eat delicious food. João was a fantastic guide who answered all of our questions and shared so many fun facts. It was well worth the money, and the lunch was our favorite part!

This was the highlight of our trip to Portugal. First off, our guide Bruno was amazing. He thought of every detail to make the day flawless. The wineries we stopped at were run by local families and the staff were so hospitable and kind. Plus, since they were small wineries, we got the place to ourselves and really got to learn about the vineyards. We enjoyed an incredible lunch at the second winery and it felt like we were guests at the host’s home. The food and wine pairings at both stops were fantastic and we felt like we tried a really nice range of wines. And the boat ride was so relaxing and fun. This day was an incredible experience and a MUST DO if you are headed to the Duoro Valley!!

This experience was truly one of the highlights of our trip. Our guide Joao was personable and very knowledgable about the Duoro Valley region. The 2 wineries we stopped at for tastings had a nice variety of very good wines. The boat ride was amazing and lunch at the second winery was authentic Portuguese with wine pairings for each course. Highly recommend and well worth the cost.
We had an amazing experience. Our guide, João (I hope I am spelling correctly!) was simply amazing - kind, funny, full of knowledge and fun facts! He made the experience so enjoyable and he was very accommodating. All of the wineries we went to were beautiful and had delicious wines. We especially enjoyed the lunch spot (João joined us for lunch which was a highlight!) and the boat tour of the river! Would recommend as a MUST DO when you come to Porto.

Yes, it’s a long drive to and from the Douro Valley as some reviews say, but the views and the whole experience are totally worth it. So glad we booked it. Delicious wines, beautiful locally-sourced 4-course lunch and topped off with a peaceful boat ride. Don’t miss the chance to see this beautiful area and make sure you ask for Luis!
This was the best experience. We never do organized tours and took a leap of faith with this and it was wonderful. Luis was the best tour guide. We HIGHLY recommend but request Luis!
Our guide was great - knowledgeable and very good at getting the group to gel together. The wine tasting was excellent as was lunch. Personally I would have liked a bit more on the 'how' at the vineyards, and some more information about the Douro valley when on the boat. But we had fun.
A lot of time spent driving in a van from place to place. The boat portion of the day was very short. Our host was lovely and knowledgeable, but overall I probably wouldn't recommend this experience to others
Our day with João was amazing!!! He was so knowledgeable about the Douro Valley and Port wine and he took us to beautiful spots as we drove. The wine tastings and lunch were amazing! The boat ride and the snacks were perfect too! Don’t hesitate to book this trip and ask for João! Abrogada!!!!
It was incredibly beautiful! It was an amazing experience. It was well organized and the guide was extremely knowledgeable and very down to earth yet professional. I don’t have words to describe how beautiful the vineyards were. And they treated us like family at the vineyard where we had lunch!! It was spectacular! The only thing is it was an hour and a half ride from Porto to the Douro Valley. But I would definitely do it again.
Wonderful tour. Perfect hour on the river cruise and Great winery tastings and our guide had and little food treats to make the tastings special. And a four course lunch with wine pairing was the best!! Our guide Josef and knowledgeable personable and it made the tour extra special! Hope his allergies get better.

Love the knowledgeable staff, funny with Portuguese costums. I was impressed with the Valley Porto wine makers. Tradition and hard working people. Tasting, explanation and history was a Wow for me.
Our guide was very nice, but so softspoken we oftentimes could not hear what he was saying, especially when we were in the mini van. We know and understand it was his first "solo" tour, but despite he telling us he grew up and knew the area, he pointed out no sites along the hour and a half route, either to or from the Douro Valley. The success of a tour is ensuring you're engaging your clients and making it fun and interesting for them. Unfortunately, this was not done. Perhaps an experienced guide should have accompanied the new guide on his first solo tour so as to offer feedback to the company at the end or, better yet, fill in with the clients when there was no engaging going on.
Setting the above aside, we don't believe the price was justified for what the tour offered. This was one of the more expensive tours offered to the area, but based on a travel blogger's recommendation, we decided to go. It was a big disappointment for what we got, and I believe we would have been just as satisfied taking one of the tours that was far less in cost. Would recommend that people search other options.
