Our guide was Luis and he went above and beyond to make our day a memorable experience. He checked in a few days before regarding pick up location and dietary requirements.
Promptly arrived at the arranged time and was extremely welcoming. Clean comfortable car with plenty of room for our group of four.
Excellent English great banter and very knowledgeable and passionate about Porto and the Douro Valley.
The highlight of the day was our picnic lunch in a private room over looking the winery.
Such a perfect day from start to finish.

We had an exceptional experience with Anselmo. The day was perfectly curated with stops for stunning photos at miradouros, a scenic boat ride, an informative and beautiful visit to a quinta vineyard with port tastings and a fabulous three course lunch paired with wine and port at another stunning quinta overlooking the Douro. Anselmo is very knowledgeable about all aspects of the Douro and he told us important facts and stories along the way. Even more noteworthy however was Anselmo’s thoughtfulness- he brought and held an umbrella for us in the rain, took pictures for us and even brought gluten free pasteis for my husband so he could experience this pairing with port. It was as if you spent a day with family friend. We cannot more highly recommend this tour with Anselmo!

This was a lovely day out from Porto. There were no issues with being picked up from our hotel. Teresa is incredibly friendly and goes over and above to ensure you have an excellent experience in the Douro. It was our anniversary and she gave amazing recommendations for lunch spots. The winery tour and tasting was superb fun. The boat ride down the Douro was exceptionally beautiful. We cannot thank Teresa enough for such an excellent day and experience.

Anselmo gave us a lovely day tour of the Doura Valley. About a 90 minute drive from Porto in a comfortable car, we then enjoyed about an hour (out and back) on a riverboat through the river valley of the wine region. Our guide gave us lots of interesting history and information. We then went to a lovely local winery to learn more about port and then went to a restaurant/hotel/winery for a beautiful lunch and more wine tasting. It was a very pleasant day and Anselmo was a fun and knowledgeable guide!

This was an excellent private tour with Gustavo who was very knowledgeable about the history and current wineries in the area. He brought us to wonderful wineries, many breath taking scenic views of the Douro Valley and a delicious lunch spot in town. Highly recommend this tour, it was a wonderful day!

Our guide Rui was great, very informative and just fun to talk with. He was born in Porto and grew up both there and in the Douro valley so he knew lots of interesting history. Our day was relaxing and not rushed. We started with some sightseeing by car, took an hour long boat ride on the beautiful river (the boat had about 20 people on board and was less than half full), we had an amazing lunch at a place we never would have found on our own, and did a wine tour and tasting at a charming family run winery. Sure we could have packed in more stuff to see in a day but we never felt rushed, we’re on vacation and relaxing was the way to go!

Andre was fantastic and that is why I’m giving the tour a 5/5. Otherwise it would be a 4/5. I was expecting a little more from the boat tour. It was just an hour with a bunch of people and no one educated us on the boat tour. Andre makes up for it all because he told us about the river and took us to several look outs. The wine tasting experience was lovely. The scene is gorgeous and still worth the trip. The boat trip was nice but super underwhelming and not what we expected. Thank you Andre for all your help!

Had an amazing day touring the Douro Valley with Gustavo. He was full of knowledge and history of Portugal. He tailored the tour based off our likes and interests. He took us to picturesque spots, took photos for us, and made the day very special. Lunch was a local restaurant that was awesome! Port stops were delicious and the boat ride was relaxing. Highly recommend booking with this group! So much to see in one day.

Anselmo is a pro guide. He was very knowledgeable of the region and made us feel like we were friends.
Views are spectacular, we learned about wine in the region, and had an excellent day. It is light walking and the boat tour was magnificent.

I highly recommend this quick day trip for anyone hoping to explore a winery or two in the valley. Anselmo was very knowledgeable and took us to some great locations to stop and take some incredible photos. Our final winery included a lunch that overlooked the valley.
