Brilliant experience from beginning to end. Crew couldn't have been more pleasant or helpful. Lots of fun. Started off with breakfast if orange juice, croissant, bap butter and jam and coffee. Followed by a glass of white port as approached the dam. Then a lovely 3 course meal. A lovely day, the tour was exceptional value. On arrival at Regua we were late due to problem with conditions before final dam so had to get straight onto bus for journey back to Porto (about 1 1/2 hrs

This turned out to be more or less a catastrophe. Maybe I didn’t do enough research. Let me start by giving applause to everyone in the crew who went out of their way to actually give people a nice experience. But that’s simply not enough! ‘Full day Douro river cruise’ is actually half way by ferry boat and back by bus. It does say so in the text if you interpret correctly. But since it says “From Porto to Régua by bus” and “Pick up in Porto harbour 08:30 by ship”, one can easily misunderstand. ‘Ship’ is actually something similar to a dilapidated cruise liner. ‘Breakfast’ is a white piece of dry bread / premade cake and black coffee from can. ‘Lunch’ is cafeteria kind of stewed sliced beef and oven potatoes with overcooked vegetables. Premade day before and heated up. I asked the crew. Yack. You also get 1/2 bottle of undrinkable 2€ red wine. Cannot recommend this if you like me, was expecting a nice local experience. There’s NO SHADE on the cruise line! So, it’s either indoor in unbearable noise from hundreds of people, running and screaming children, or outside on top deck in 40°C unprotected sun. I couldnt really choose between crying or laughing. Dropped of in Régua (most people was continuing on, don’t know how or why) we were waiting 1h30min in unbearable heat before big bus finally arrives and drive the group back. I do at lot of these tours all over the world and it’s my 4th trip in Porto. I can find no reason at all to recommend this tour. You’ll be better off with a wine tasting tour by mini bus / maybe combined with a short river tour by small boat, and pay the difference.

Staff extremely unfriendly and rude. Take cash as they do not accept credit cards. Couldn't even purchase water and staff were reluctant to assist.

Nice tour, but about 2 hours too long.

The crew was wonderful. The good was good. The boat was a bit dated, but nice. The views were astounding. The tour left dock over 30 minutes late. When we finally arrived at Regua, we only had 30 minutes to walk around. Not enough time to see or explore or even get a drink. The bus trip back to Porto also left late. It was 20 or more minutes sitting on the bus waiting. Probably not their fault, but still frustrating as we could have been exploring for an extra twenty minutes. Overall, it felt like the tour was about 2 hours too long.

Food was nothing special. Service was fine. The drop off is not as they indicated, they dropped us in Gaia instead of Aliados. Bus is very Warm on the way back. Felt the trip was too long. No port wine tasting. Have to take another bus to go to the wine area.

Boat trip on the Duoro

Overall, the boat ride up the river from Porto was fine. It was nice to have the rolls, coffee and juice on arrival and the lunch was very good - plenty of food and nicely presented. The boat itself was hot (a/c was not working properly on either deck), so the experience became very uncomfortable as this hot day progressed. There were very few seats available on deck, so I would say (regardless of weather) it was not a comfortable experience for a very long day. And, the bus ride back to Porto was also hot, as the a/c on the bus was apparently not operating properly. Sadly, we arrived back in Porto disappointed with the experience. I think the crew worked very hard and did their best to serve us efficiently. The sound quality for the recorded "tour" was not good, so we did not understand it. (Sorry this sounds so negative, but I think it's important to provide honest feedback).

Beautiful scenery and experiencing the process through the locks as we moved up the river was different to other locks I have gone through. Great to meet the Swiss & Portuguese on our table. A better PA system would be helpful & someone speaking slower in English.

Awesome trip

It was a wonderful trip, food was excellent. We were also traveling with senior handicap parents and they were great getting them on and off the boat, however when we took the bus back they dropped us off at a hotel which was a 15 minute walk from the garage where we parked. We did not stay at the hotel. We drove to the boat from family's home. For us personally that was a disaster. It would have been nice for the bus to had 2 drop off locations. We would highly recommend this trip.!

Staff should be more helpful

The boat experience was very nice. The dining area was pleasurable and the breakfast items were plentiful. Lunch was delicious with a full meal of pork, vegetables, potatoes and dessert. Wine water and orange juice were served along side. The trip up was scenic especially after the second dam. Our pick up was right on time and we appreciated being picked up at our Airbnb. However, the boat staff was less accommodating. They were not helpful once we disembarked from the boat telling us “to stand over there” to wait for our bus ride home. Other passengers were confused about their final destination. Customer service needs to be improved.

Almost Perfect Cruise

An almost great cruise from Porto to Regua and return by train. The cruise ship was comfortable, left on time and the commentary was fine. The only disappointment was the “breakfast”. A bread roll and a brioche bun with a glass of watered down orange juice is not breakfast, even with coffee. The included lunch was very good and plentiful. A generous amount of wine was also included. Drinks were available for purchase, including white or ruby port at reasonable prices. Lots of people bought lots of wine so the mood was buoyant. A really enjoyable cruise tour that could only be improved with a better breakfast. Highly recommended. September 2019.

Meeting point instructions were confusing as two different locations were given on the information sheet. According to the overview, departure return time was inaccurate shortening the journey. The cruise itself was very scenic and boat staff friendly and gracious but breakfast consisted of 2 buns.

Worst experience ever. There was 1 contradictory information about the departure location 2 insufficient information regarding the name of the boat and 3 we were not on the customer list. We had to walk 1500 meters three times--crossing the river--because no one knew we had registered and prepaid the fare. Moreover, the website did not function properly.

Pas clair les indications...

Pas clair les indications sur le quai de départ d où partent des bateaux d autres compagnies. Petit déjeuner OK à 9h15 mais on déjeune à 11h30 alors qu'on va faire escale à 15h30 !!! Manque cruellement de chaises en haut pour une meilleure vue (une trentaine de personnes assisent au sol ou debout) Rien à faire à l escale pour attendre bus du retour (attention environ 1h45)

Die Bootsfahrt war für uns etwas zu lang - zuwenig Bewegung möglich. Essen war ausgezeichnet viel zu große Portionen! Rückreise mit dem Zug von Regua nach Porto war sehr schön!

El tour cuenta con unas vistas panoramicas increibles. Navegar por el duero resulta una experiencia única. puede llegar a cansar el trayecto. Podrían mejorar la calidad de los vinos que sirven a bordo con la comida.
