I've been on a dozen food tours all over the world and while I usually like any of them, this one stood out. First, the food and wine was fantastic and plentiful (pace yourself if you take this). The biggest selling point was the guide Joao, who mostly does the historical tours, with his terrific knowledge and understanding of history of the food and wine. He could also speak on almost any topic you'd bring up. Truly a fantastic tour. Shout out to his logistics person whom I'm sure also made things run smoothly.

Ana was the best guide! The tour was lovely and delicious. You will meet bedrocks of the food community in Porto and try ALL of the traditional pastries and food. No visit to a country is complete without a tour of their food and wine. This was super fun!

Barbara was excellent. Too much to eat & drink - shouldn't complain though. Stayed in market but also went to a local restaurant & cafes.

We really enjoyed the tour of the market. It was absolutely pristine and the foods on display were beautiful. We were given so many samples of food that we were full by the end of the tour and the wine was flowing very freely! Tapas & vino verde tour was a highlight of my trip to Porto. Ana was a wonderful guide, introducing us to many longtime Market merchants at the Bolhao Market. The food was delicious, varied & so plentiful. The wine was terrific and flowed generously. Don't miss this trip!

The tour was very nice from start to finish. Our guide, Veronica, was really superb; friendly and helpful. The tour started in the public market. It has been completely renovated and is beautiful. It seems, though, that it is mainly full of tourists, not locals. And judging from the items available (expensive sardines in "cute" tins, for example) there's not much to offer to locals. One thing to be aware of - much of the tour is standing around - if you'd like to sit down for the tastings, it's not going to happen until near the end. I wasn't a huge fan of many of the items we tried, but hey, it was fun to give it a go. At the end, we went to their private "apartment" or "office" and I think that was my favorite part of the tour. There was an abundance of food there. Thanks to all of the staff who helped out!

What an amazing experience.
Upon arriving at Bolhao Market, we were met by our guides who were upbeat and extremely passionate about the history of the markets, it's vendors, and Porto in general.
After exploring the market's with a lot of food stopping along the way with multiple top ups of different Vino Verde wines, we thought we had come to the end of the day after being well fed. How wrong we were!!
After the markets we explored and learned more about the history of Porto, visited a local tavern where we got to have a lunch of traditional Porto cuisine (with more wine), and also visited a rooftop area where we had even more courses of meats, cheese, deserts etc (as well as more wine).
We all (group of 4) had a fantastic day and would recommend this to anybody who is interested in learning about traditional Portugese food, the history of the markets, as well as a brief history of Porto!

What a great tour! Ana and her team made sure we were satisfied!! We learned about the local cuisine and some of its history history, met some fun people and ate great food and wine! We didn’t need to eat the rest of the day! We’ve already recommended this tour for some family that’s going to be visiting Puerto in the coming year and would recommend it to anyone!
