The morning of our group tour, I got a text from the tour company saying there weren't enough people for our tour and they would be charging the extra for a private tour for 2 of us. The tour was already expensive enough, so we opted not to do the tour at all. I felt they should have provided the tour because we had already paid for it. We're headed to pompeii and will hire a guide there.

Eliana was amazing, we had the best time! We did a private tour and thought it was incredible. She took us around all the key parts of Pompei and then gave us directions for after the tour was over. We will book again when we are next in Pompei. Thank you!

Our group had a great time on our tour with Dario! We had some hiccups and ended up with a private tour.
Our original guide reached out about an hour before with an issue with her train and asked to reschedule to noon. We were coming from Naples and were already almost to Pompeii so I told the guide that wouldn’t work. She offered to have her assistant Dario guide and he was AMAZING! She also offered a private tour so I’m not sure if that was why our tour was 2 hours instead of 4? But we had a great time!

Originally booked this as a group tour, but the day before, the host Eliana, messaged to let me know there wasn't enough people for the group. She gave us the option to either cancel or still continue. Begrudgingly, I decided to continue considering I didn't want to cancel what was a surprise experience for my wife on our anniversary. I'm giving them 5 stars, because despite my complaints both the tour guide and Eliana came through on a customer service level. The tour itself was great and our guide was awesome giving us non-recycled talking points which most guides regurgitate lines. Eliana came to meet us in person and we worked everything out in the end including helping us organize a free ride to the Pompeii vineyards nearby (after the vineyard said they were fully booked with rides). Had it not been for her, we would've ended up paying $60 for a cab ride to the vineyard (yikes!). If there was any doubt about which tour company to go with, pick them because they will definitely come through on a customer service and knowledge level.

Our group did not fill so we paid $50 euro more for a private tour, we had a 2 year old in a stroller so this was a fantastic option. Our guide was very knowledgeable, and helped carry the stroller over the tough parts!

We found Eliana Sandretti very helpful and considerate. We particularly appreciated the opportunity she gave us to rearrange out tour to a later time. Eliana was so knowledgeable and provided an amazing overview of life in Pompeii in 70 AD. She led us to all the major areas of the city, and described the lives of the wealthy, the prostitutes, and the gladiators, and their roles and lives in Pompeii society. . As an archeologist at Pompeii, she was able to tell us details on current and near term excavations, recent discoveries, and what it is like to work in Pompeii, the qualifications that are required, and the bond the excavators have from working 24/7 on site. While it was extremely hot(come prepared with water, sunscreen, and a hat or umbrella!), we really enjoyed every minute of the tour. Thanks Eliana!!.

Met the lovely Francesco just outside the main entrance to the site. Tip: if possible and time allows, go to Pompeii later on in the day. Our tour started at 4pm and the place wasn't busy at all. It was great as it was just the two of us with Francesco who was able to take us through the various types of shops and houses (rich, middle class and poorer) that were present during ancient times in Pompeii. We were able to stop in each house at certain points and explain what each room was and the purpose of various elements without any issues (apparently during busier times this wouldn't be possible). Everything is incredibly well preserved (the frescos in the wealthier houses were truly astonishing), and it definitely helps having a guide explaining small details that if you were on your own you would simply miss. The tour is about 2 hours, but for us Francesco went on a bit longer as we had time, he really was very passionate about the history and you could tell. All in all we would highly recommend!

Eliana was lovely and extremely informative. I can’t imagine coming here and not doing a tour! It was sometimes a little hard to hear what was being said due to surrounding noise or when Eliana was a bit further away (my hearing is not great) but aside from that we had a great day. We booked the tour with Eliana, but she couldn't make it and Francesco gave the tour instead. But the tour was so great with Francesco! We were only 4 people and he could answer all our questions and we saw everything import in Pompeii! The communication with Eliana before the tour was also great! Would definitely book it again.

A wonderful tour. We only had a few hours in Pompeii and this tour fit the bill. Eliana was knowledgeable and informative. She took time to talk and explain this to our 8 year old son while still engaging the rest of the group. She keeps her groups small (we had 7 people) so we could each ask questions. She worked as an archeologist in the city and had first hand knowledge of the dig. Highly recommended.
