Following your interior tour, spend some free time in the gardens, a 2,000-acre (809-hectare) park filled with fountains, statues, and classic formal garden landscaping.

Our guide for our small group tour drove the second vehicle with another seven people in addition to the five in our van.
Did not feel like a small group tour. We had some mixup getting into Versailles and there was an altercation between our guide and the entry staff. Our guide Wasted too much time in crowded rooms of the palace.
At least three large groups passed ours.
He was excited to mention Thomas Jefferson’s black wife and the children more than once. Half of the time, our guide was in a different room from at least six people in our group so we had difficulty hearing him, even with the whisper ear devices. The two other people that had been in our van taking the ride to Versailles left the tour while we were in the Palace.
After the Palace, we were told we had 50 minutes to be back at the parking lot. I told our guide to leave if we were not there. We were looking forward to experiencing the musical fountains. I was not sure we could do the fountains, and return to the parking lot in time. So, I told our guide, twice, that if we didn’t return the parking by the time he gave us that they should return without us. We would get a cab for our return.
I still received two texts about the rendezvous time.
Overall, a little disappointing. It felt like our guide was determined to do this experience his way, and he had no interest in anyone else’s experience.
The whole experience was hard to follow. Drama is not an activity I enjoy on vacation.
I would not recommend this guide.
The Palace is certainly the star. But the musical fountains are not to be missed.
Our guide was a solid 2.0 on a 5.0 scale.

Our guide Gilbert was impeccable. Kind, communicative, and clear throughout the tour. He was so knowledgeable about the history of the palace, the Kings Louis/Marie Antoinette, and the era. I left with such a deeper appreciation for the history of this place and the people of it and France than I expected. I’ve been on probably 100s of castle/palace tours, and to be honest I wasn’t exactly ecstatic about the idea of the tour before we went, but I was just so impressed by it all. That feeling was in no small part because of this tour.
Given the crowd sizes as Versailles, I also highly recommend this tour as a it’s a small group tour with 8 people maximum. First, the transit to/from the grounds is very comfortable. Next, you have many chances to ask questions and dive deeper into different areas of the tour. And third, the small group also gives you more time on your own to explore a few areas and take incredible pictures.
My only suggestion for how to make the tour better would be to add additional time and include an option for an included golf cart rental so that we can see more of the gardens. They were so incredible, but with only about 30 minutes of time on our own for them, there’s not much we could see in person. Overall though, I wouldn’t change anything about the actual palace tour itself.
Oh and also, the tour office (where you meet your guide for the transport) has a very well maintained restroom you can use before and after the tour. Definitely a bonus!

Go see the gardens immediately after the palace or you won’t have enough time! We loved the tour and our guide - we just wish we’d had an extra hour!

The tour guide was awesome and witty. Unfortunately the volume of visitors to Versailles may have distracted from a full appreciation of the vast knowledge the tour guide was able to share.

Had a great tour, met up with our driver and he made should all were able to hear in the vehicle. Great information and would use them again. Wish we would of had more time but that was on us. It was great for all ages in our group 6 - 50.

This was a great quick tour which gives you the highlights of the palace. Our guide Honoré did an excellent job navigating through the palace crowds despite our morning entry time. It was packed. The audio earbuds were key or we would not have been able to hear Honore. Because of the crowds, you don’t get much time to wander the gardens. We had a brief 15- 20 min to walk around before heading back to Paris on the bus.

Versailles is a must-see experience while in Paris and this tour was the perfect length to not only see the incredible opulence of the palace and wonder in the exquisite gardens but also to understand the role the palace and those that lived there played in the French Revolution. Honore, our tour guide, was amazing. I learned more about French history in the few hours we spent together than the whole rest of my time in Paris.

Our guide was extremely knowledgeable
Additionally the company was very nice. Out hotel was by the louvre and the meeting point was a good ways away. Some people on our tour were doing a louvre tour with the same company right afterwards. We were not but they let us hitch a ride on their tour bus back to the louvre

Lovely 4 hour round trip to Versailles. Our tour guide/driver was so knowledgeable about the history of the Palace and country side. We had a guided tour through the palace, and then time on our own to explore the gardens.

Our visit to Versailles was wonderful from beginning to end. The Paris Trip tours office was busy but efficient. Our guide Henri was absolutely outstanding; probably the best we’ve had on many tours in various cities. He had extensive knowledge of history and shared a lot of information; and quizzed us along the way. More importantly he made all of his (unrelated) small group feel welcome and comfortable.

Really great way to get a personalized experience, and find out alot of info. We did the private option. You could spend the whole day in just the gardens, so we could have used some more time for that, but overall a great visit.

We chose a Sunday morning tour at 0815, small group, viewing the palace and gardens of Versailles. There were only 8 of us. Our guide, Michelle, was extremely knowledgeable about all the history AND she was our driver. The palace was over the top and you could have spent hours in the garden. We saw the original fountains working and the chapel was open. We will come back some day to savor it longer. I highly recommend this tour!

Excellent guide! Nick was perfect and gave so many insights to each room. In addition, he provided information on any question we asked. He was able to provide our small group with the proper amount of timing and knew the better places to take pictures!

Nicolas was an excellent guide providing enough interesting commentary without overwhelming us. He happily answered any questions we had, ensured we could navigate the significant number of people at the palace and had adequate time in each space. Having our own time in the incredible gardens was a blissful respite and we had adequate time to explore a good amount.
