A guided tour is a must for first time visitors. It’s a large building but much more accessible than the Louvre. A guide helps you make efficient use of your time and ensure you get to see what you want.

Our guide, Adrien, made this such an enjoyable tour. He was very passionate, engaging, knowledgeable, informative and accommodating. He guided us through the most important pieces of the museum that gave rise to Impressionism.
As this is the Museum with the largest collection of Impressionists works in the world leave yourself time after the tour to go back to appreciate and enjoy some of the more popular works of art in the collection. Also go check out the special exhibits that are not covered by the tour.

Francois (V) was an awesome guide for our semi-private tour of the museum. Very engaging and personable, with lots of knowledge about the museum and art history. He asked which artists we liked and ensured he covered all requests! Very accommodating as well. Appreciated the tour was only 6 people, as we were able to maneuver around more easily than a large group and cover more ground. Would definitely recommend this experience!

Florent was excellent - I loved how he had structrued the tour to make it very easy to see the journey of the art and the evolution. He has so much knowledge and I abolsutely loved it all. Our guide, Ivana, was incredibly knowledgeable and truly gave us a master class in art. She thoughtfully guided us from pre-Impressionism through Impressionism and into post-Impressionism, carefully curating stops that highlighted how artists experimented and evolved their styles. With so much to see at the museum, her approach made everything feel clear and meaningful rather than overwhelming. Even my 21-year-old stepson was completely engaged and called it an amazing experience — a considerable feat for any tour guide! A fantastic way to experience this incredible museum.
