ILIYA was our very informative and delightful guide. We loved our Normandy experience and highly recommend asking for ILIYA and see for yourself how important a reminder of historic events that should never be forgotten.

Very disappointed. Tour was canceled without any warning. We were not notified of the cancellation. We had to chase and call, and only then found out it was cancelled. No alternatives were provided for that day and we had plans for the rest of our trip. Goes without saying we were disappointed

We sincerely apologize for the disappointment caused by the cancellation of your Normandy tour. Unfortunately, due to an unexpected vehicle breakdown on the day of the tour, we were unable to operate the trip safely.
As soon as we became aware of the issue, we offered to reschedule the tour for any other available date, with an additional discount. Unfortunately, we understand that your itinerary was already fully planned for the remaining days of your trip, so this alternative was not convenient for you.

Dave or your guild and Gatis our driver were great. Dave provided lots of historical facts and kept us interested and often amused. He laid the foundation at each stop to help us prioritize must sees. He was flexible with time based on our requests. Gatis added to the in car conversation with knowledge and humor.
Together they made sure we saw the flag lowering ceremony at the US Cemetery. This is the highlight of the day.
I recommend this tour for a small group or family. They will personalize for you.
Somewhat longer walking then expected but very beautiful history was outstanding and the exibit were great

Driver was great. Friendly, but not overbearing. We didn’t get a tour guide, but driver sprinkled in interesting facts. The agenda was packed, but our driver did a great job keeping us on schedule.
Our tour guide went missing the morning of the tour and although the driver and local operator did their best in a bad situation the experience was not what we signed up for. Unfortunately due to travel schedules we were not flexible in our tour date or we would have rescheduled.

Nice to hear about "great sites visited". Disappointed about 3-stars evaluation. We have informed the traveller one week before the travel date that we had no other participants for that date offering different options: to make the upgrade to Private experience with more sights Driver only or Live guided. We advised as well to look for another supplier for a similar trip because we are just one supplier of many. The customer has chosen the Live guided option with us and we did our job with good quality by one of our Mercedes with experienced driver and Live guided during the whole trip.
Originally set this up as a small group tour and as the scheduled day approached we were notified that my wife and I were the only ones signed up. They gave us an option to cancel or change to a private tour. We chose the private tour, then David our guide and Roman, our driver were assigned. Pick up was promptly at 730am as promised, we headed out in a Mercedes wagon. The drive was about 2.5 hrs to Normandy (bathroom break scheduled 1/2 way) and we made small talk until about an hour out when David began his history lesson. He was well versed and kept our interest all day. We toured museums, watched videos, read journals, discussed artillery, uniforms, equipment, photo exhibits, toured bunkers, monuments, beaches and the second largest military cemetary all while reflecting on the magnitude of this event in history. Worked in a nice lunch in a small town. David and Roman's impeccable timing allowed us to basically walk into a museum and enter a show moments later. We were also able to catch the lowering of the dual flags ceremony in the evening at Omaha cememtary. The day was well planned, informative and though long, was not overwhelming.
Each stop allowed us to visualize all of the important pieces that put the D day campaign together. The ride back was about 3 hours and also included a break 1/2 way through. Very memorable

The driver Roman was absolutely the best your guide ever. Patient and kind. Took extra care in showing us all the attractions of Normandy.
For anyone who wants to visit and learn about the Normandy Beaches and some of the stories about that day, I would highly recommend this tour. Our guide David and our driver made for a very memorable trip!

The guide and driver were excellent. The guide was well-informed about the history. SHe(Helen) was a great leader and her planning on behalf of the group of clients was great.
David was a great tour guide…he kept us informed of delays with traffic due to D Day celebrations…we still hit all of the stops for the tour!
Planned this experience months in advance and was so looking forward to it ! Day of our adventure at pickup time, our driver is a no show! After numerous calls to Clewel Travel who was originally clueless about our reservation, advised us that there was an accident or something and they were unable to pick us up…offered to do it another day but were unable since we were going back home, so ended up getting a refund

Correct description. We have already apologised and do it here again. We offered You to do the same trip next day. We couldn't replace the car. Replacing the car would work only if it is made within 30 - 40 minutes. Afterwards it would be not possible to make this 14 hours long itinerary. We are sorry that we couldn't have made so fast.
Ivan was great. Perfect Day. We would do it again. Overlord Museum was the best museum. My family loved it.
The American Cemetery was an exceptional experience, enhanced by the museum visit beforehand. The day was well planned and enjoyable in every aspect.
The tour was supposed to be a live guided tour. Our guide slept on the drive out and played on her phone. We were dropped off with only a little explanation of where to go and very very basic info. It was more like a hop on and off tour or a self guided tour. The driver was good but of course he was not the tour guide and did not carry on conversation. Some of the activities on our list were skipped. It was awful.

We thank all our customers for participation but would like anyway to provide correct informations. 4 customers of this Small group were served by our Mercedes minivan with guide and driver within 14 hours. We made 430 miles within a day visiting 5 top Omaha and Utah top sights. The angry unpolite and rude gentleman just lies. Travellers visited everything during this customized trip sitting 2 people on each 3 places bank like in the business class: Caen Memorial and museum, Normandy American cemetery, Overlord museum, Omaha Beach, Lunch break in a restaurant at Omaha Beach, Utah beach, Utah beach Landing museum. Just in the Bunker of Caen memorial our guide was making explanations 20 minutes long and was always with the clients. Have a nice stay in France and elsewhere. Be polite and dont lie.
ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!! We were robbed of our valuables in the tour vehicle, filed a police report, emailed to follow up and no one has been in contact for assistance. Someone please respond to our emails!

During the trip to Normandy personal belongings of our clients were stolen on the official parking of Caen Memorial. Our driver informed immediately the authorities of the Museum and went with the clients to to Police station where everything was fixed in a Police protocol. This is the only thing we could do. We are very sorry about the situation but it is not our fault. It happened on the official parking. We never recommend travellers to leave in the hotel or in the car/minivan valuable items, money documents. We are following up with the Police of Normandy. All necessary steps are done.
Some very memorable moments but very unprofessional tour. Driver was very attentive and made sure we were always dropped off and picked where we needed to be.

You are very thankful people. Thank You very much to take part at this trip. You were only 2 people for a Small group trip up to 7 people. We provide the LIve guide starting with 4 participants. This information You can find in our description and in Your ticket. Obviously it was out mistake to serve 2 small group people as Private Experience by one of our Mercedes cars with experienced driver only. At the Caen Memorial You had audioguides. 360 Circular cinema the documentary has English subtitles. By Normandy American Cemetery all information is in English and in French. Same thing is at the Overlord museum
We had a wonderful day visiting all the sights of Normandy. It was a long day but worth it. It has been on our bucket list and we are grateful that we were finally able to do it.
1st I will say that Normandy requires 2 days instead of the 1 day we had. The pickup and return were very good (despite the long traffic delay on return.) A good guide makes or breaks a tour, and while our guide was very sweet, her command of English was not acceptable for this tour. She was a little hard to hear and understand and her knowledge of the history was borderline.
If you like history and want to do justice to Normandy, then this tour is not for you.

It was a long day. We provide step by step minute for minute description on web. So the clients can read it before the trip. We brought in total 6 clients by our Mercedes minivan with adjustable seats fast and safety to all places due to the description total 650 km (380 miles) within one day while clients were relaxing. English speaking Guide was on board. The problem of this trip was that our she-guide was sweet according to the reviewer and if we have got sweet travellers then it works fine. But ! If we have got saur clients then they have got a saur memory afterwards. It is not our fault. It just works like this with Food, Guides and Travellers. The itinerary was really great because our goal was to show the most significant sites to get a great experience. It included: The Caen Memorial visit with audioguides in English and documentaries with English subtitles, the 360 Circular cinema in Arromanches with English subtitles, Lunch in Arromanches, the Normandy American cemetery visit with a small museum which contains all the informations in English as well, Omaha beach monument visit, visiting of Pointe du Hoc. We have got as well 2-day trips to Normandy.
I paid for a speaking tour but the driver could not speak English. He was a great driver and did his best
We booked this tour over the others offered by Viator for several reasons - smaller group, private vehicle and extended length of time at several sites. Our guide, Rusty, was fantastic. On-time pickup at our hotel, comfortable Mercedes van (no big bus/big group to track) with scheduled stops, immediate access to sites, with movies where applicable, and a delicious lunch at a beautiful waterfront restaurant. We made two scheduled rest/bathroom stops along the route to/from Paris. Take this tour; it is worth the money for the reasons explained above.
