Wow! This is an incredible day trip out of Paris and it is worth seeing. The chateaux were each beautiful and unique in their respective ways. Serena is amazing tour guide and driver with impeccable customer service. She was very knowledgeable on all matters related to the region and each chateau. She made the experience very special for our family and I recommend this trip!

Simply beautiful great small group tour guide was very
Informative beautiful place. A lot of walking but it was a beautiful day. A little disappointed with wine tasting thought we would have tried champagne
Response from Host, Apr 2026
Thank you for your feedback.
Please note that the Loire Valley tour is not dedicated to wine tasting, but is primarily a castles tour. The wine tasting is a small part of the experience, intended to introduce guests to local wines.
If you would like a tour focused on champagne tasting, we also offer a Champagne region tour where the focus is specifically on champagne experiences.
Kind regards,
- Alice

We had a fabulous day. Leaving early allowed us to get to Chateau de Chenonceaux before big crowds. Valeria was a fabulous guide! She provided information and orientation, then set us off to explore on our own, which was exactly what we wanted to do.
Response from Host, Mar 2026

Excellent experience with a small group. Matthew was the driver guide. He was a safe driver and extremely knowledgeable guide. I learned so much about the history of French kings and their chateau. Be prepared for a long, but fascinating day.

My tour guide was very knowledgeable about all the sites, the best points of view during the visit, and also shared a lot about the history of each site and the region on the road between each. The day was packed with beautiful spaces and also time to relax and enjoy food/drink during the day. They cover the best chateaux in the region. Highly recommend!
Response from Host, Mar 2026
Thank you for sharing your experience!
It sounds like the tour perfectly balanced history, sightseeing, and relaxation, glad you enjoyed the castles and local flavors <3
Merci!

Although just three castles, it still makes for a full day. If you go in December, wear warm jackets. the castles are relatively cold. Our guide, Will was excellent and knew a lot about the history of each castle.
Donna_H, Dec 2025
Absolutely worth every penny! And the castles were decorated so beautifully for Christmas. It really was magical. JP was the best guy as well. Very informative, friendly and helpful.! 🎄🎅🎄
Francine_E, Nov 2025
The three beautiful castles were spectacularly decorated for Christmas. Julian our guide was personable and knowledgeable.
Carol_H, Nov 2025
This trip is all about the castles. Saw 3 glorious castles with beautiful huge gardens. The guide was wonderful and knowledgeable. If your main goal is wine tasting, try a different tour. Highly recommend this as a castle tour.
Kelly_B, Nov 2025
Pros: Our guide Julian was very knowledgeable about the 3 chateau we visited. He gave us information before entering, and then we were given a paper guide for the actual visit. We were able to use a Histopad in one of the Chateau, but not in Chambord. It probably would have been too time consuming to use one at Chambord. Cons: I was disappointed in the transportation- it was NOT a luxury passenger van (as advertised); It was a 9 person transit passenger van. Three of us were squished into the last row- which made it very uncomfortable as we spent at least 5 hours in the car.
Response from Host, Nov 2025
Thank you for your feedback.
Our tours are designed for small groups of up to 8 people, and all our vans are brand new, air-conditioned, and of a high-quality brand, which we consider luxury for a small-group experience. They are not large buses, as we focus on a more personal and comfortable group size.
We’re sorry you felt cramped; we always recommend checking the van photos on our official website to know what to expect.
We’re glad you enjoyed Julian’s guidance and the châteaux visits!
Kind regards,
- Alice

It’s a great tour. It’s a lot to cover in one day from Paris but so worth it. My guide was very knowledgeable and guided me to what areas I would get the most from while I was on my own.
Gene_G, Oct 2025
It was amazing seeing the castles. It was a very long day, long drive from Paris to the Loire Valley, but worth it. The only disappointment was the wine tasting. The amount of wine in the glass for each tasting was barely enough for a sip. Not much to see, smell or sip. Worst wine tasting I've ever had.
Response from Host, Oct 2025
Thank you for your feedback!
We’re glad you enjoyed the castles and the overall Loire Valley experience.
The wine tasting is a small part of the tour meant to give a taste of the local culture. :)
Kind regards,

This was a phenomenal experience. It is a long day but was so worth it. Our tour guide Valeria was amazing. She was funny entertaining and so considerate of everyone. She made sure everyone was comfortable, had everything they needed, and offered stops for bathroom whenever needed. She checked in frequently with everyone. The castles were a perfect selection of three very different castles. One wine tasting is included but you can also do wine tastings at two of the other castles as well one for a small fee and the other free as well. The included wine tasting is informal which I have seen negatively impact other people’s reviews but again it is not the main focus of the trip. Valeria and the store owner were phenomenal and gave brief info about wines and I personally thought it was a fun little add on to the day. Be prepared to walk a lot!

Tim was a great guide and driver. I enjoyed his history lessons about the kings and castles and his picture book to illustrate the stories. We had a small group of 6. So it was quite nice not going with a big group. It was a long day from 7-7:30 but Tim told us we could sleep on the way to the castles which was a 2 hour drive. I think we all did! I thought Chenonceau and Chambord were the prettiest. Ambroise was nice and it had the advantage of having a quaint town next to it where we got to choose where we wanted to go for lunch. Lunch and drinks and snacks are not included which is fine since you get to pick what you want. Each of the castles have interesting history. It was nice to get away from the Paris crowds! The wine tasting was a disappointment because somehow I assumed it would be at a winery. But it was in a small wine shop. It was a good break though. It was not informative. There is a lot of walking and circular staircases at the castles so be prepared. We walked 5.5 miles. There were plenty of bathroom breaks. I highly recommend, it was worth the money.

This day trip was so fun! The castles were amazing! The trip was well organized and the guide was friendly. A few things I would note. The trip is 12-13 hours so definitely plan for that. I’m sure every trip and tour guide is a bit different but we spent a lot of time at Chenonceau castle. So, we felt a bit rushed at the 2nd stop, Amboise castle. Since there is more to do at the Amboise castle (castle, lunch and wine tasting) it would have made more sense to spend the most time here. Also, the wine tasting was a bit dull and skimpy. I expected something a little bit more exciting since we were in Loire Valley. Overall the experience of the castles was absolutely lovely and definitely recommend.

The travel time seems long but goes quickly… and is so worth it! A stop is well placed both outboard and returning. Would highly recommend this trip to anyone visiting Paris or France for first time… Did you KNOW how these castles came to be and just how much a part of everything they really are!!!???
Lesley_S, Sep 2025
It’s a very long day but really worthwhile! Our guide and driver, Valeria, was wonderful and provided good commentary. The chateaux are stunning and we had lots of time to look thoroughly, eat and do gift shopping.
Elizabeth_S, Sep 2025
Fabulous experience! Our guide was very knowledgeable and the castles were amazing. Highly recommend this tour.
Pamela_G, Sep 2025
Sam did a great job being driver and tour guide. I appreciate the small group and the free time at each location and just the right amount of time for breaks.
Geralyn_O, Sep 2025
Very misleading. Viator presented it as a wine tour with castles so we signed up thinking we were going to an actual winery or two. It was strictly a castle tour with a stop at a wine shop in town for 4 very small tastings of mediocre wine and no information about the wine which weren’t even hand poured out of the bottles. They were in a refrigeration device that you put your glass under like a soda machine. The castles were beautiful but we wanted to try wine from that region. Our guide was basically our driver. She spoke for a couple of minutes at each castle before she told us to explore on our own at each one for 80 minutes which was quite a long time. And it was a 13 hour day. The poor people at the back of the van couldn’t feel the ac so they were hot and uncomfortable. In hindsight, I would have skipped this expensive tour and done the champagne one in Reims since it’s much closer to Paris. However, Chateau de Chambord was beautiful!

Be prepared to be amazed by the castles and the tour Guides were awesome knowledgeable and very accommodating.

Géraud - aka “G” provided and excellent Loire valley tour.
He was personable, informative and very considerate of the group we toured with.
I give G +5 for a great day visiting the historic castles in the Loire valley
Irene_M, Sep 2025
Excellent day to visit the chateaux’s of the Loire Valley! Tour guide G was terrific, providing us with interesting facts of French history, the surrounds and the chateaux. The drive was comfortable and G took care of everything. The visit to Amboise was fun and able to grab a really tasty lunch! I would definitely recommend this tour to everyone!
James_F, Sep 2025
The castles were amazing. The 1st two were over the top the last was spectacular from the outside. The displays inside were underwhelming. The wine tasting was not great. Before lunch while standing in a small space was odd. Kareem was knowledgeable but I felt his role was more of a driver than a tour guide. Driving was sometimes an adventure. Long day!

Our driver was lovely and explained everything well. It was a long day but she made it enjoyable and she was a great driver!
