Normandy with Family

We loved our experience to Normandy! We were able to see where the American Soldiers landed for D-Day at Omaha Beach, enjoyed the serene American Cemetery, and experienced steep cliffs of Pointe Du Hoc, the landing of the Rangers. Our tour guy was very knowledgeable about the D-Day and also about the history of France and the Normandy area. Our kids learned so much! The air conditioned van was comfortable and made a pit stop going to and from Paris to Normandy where we were able to get snacks, croissants, coffee, and water. I would highly recommend this tour!

Excellent day tour!! Limited to 15 people in a very comfortable van. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and organized. His former military experience very much helped enhanced the day. He did a wonderful job at explaining what occurs on D-day. The experience exceeded our expectations. Don’t hesitate to book. Well worth the money.

Wonderful tour to get an overview of Normandy. The tour felt rushed in some places but that was because the tour packs four stops with limited time at each. Definitely recommend if your time in France is limited.

It says "breakfast...

It says "breakfast included". But we just stopped at a gas station and we were given time to get something from the one small coffee shop that was open inside. But, we were also given limited time at some of the other memorials. 20 minutes is not enough time to enter the memorials and walk around. But, given that we had a long ride to and from Paris, I can understand why the need to rush on some locations. We did have an hour to visit the American memorial which was very nice. But, you do have to keep track of the time and not be late going back to the bus. Otherwise they will go out and look for you. The guide was very knowledgeable.

Not worth the money

We were expecting a small group, max size 15 people. We ended up on a large tour bus with over 40 people on board. There was limited interaction with the guide, no opportunity to ask questions, and were generally herded about like any other large tour. The description says breakfast was included (it’s not). It wasn’t worth the $300+ we paid for a more intimate, interactive experience. It’s really just another tour…you’ll see the sites ( though there was no visit to any of the museums), but it’s not a $300+ per person tour. I’ve asked for a partial refund. Don’t select this tour—equivalent tours are available for less than half the cost.

Small Group Max 8 was actually group of 22 in full size bus. Not notified of change. Allocation of times for the few stops 15 minutes only except Cemetery of over 1hr. Drove by 2 museums but no stops done. Scenery was exceptional.

Touching history

One of the most significant reasons for traveling to France is our trip to Normandy. This connects you with history in way that a book cannot. Our guide was excellent. There were 4 main stops + lunch + rest stops to and from Normandy. Long day and probably should be spent over several days but if you only have limited time, this is a great way to get an introduction to the invasion at Normandy. You also get to hear how the invasion, while liberating, devastated the local French population with preemptive bombing. Lunch was provided. It was satisfying but I wouldn’t give 5 stars to that part. Small group is the way to go. Highly recommended!

This day trip from Paris was a must see. Steve was our tour guide and provided some great historical information during our trip. We really liked being part of a small group tour. We were not able to access all areas during our visit as they were preparing for the 80th anniversary ceremonies. Also it might have been good to have a little more time at each stop, however, with the travel time we understand the limitation. Overall, a great day and would definitely recommend.

Zoltan is the best, such a great day! Meeting point is actually the corner of Av. de Suffren and Rue Jean Rey. Further down the street from the Pullman.

We went to Omaha Beach and the American Cemetery from Paris. We mad three other stops. It was informative and we had enough time at each stop. I could have used more at the Cemetery because I felt rushed trying to also take in the museum, but the trip was 13 hours and I understand it would have been even longer. We saw a lot in the time we had for a day trip. I feel satisfied with the experience. Also I initially purchased a tour that included lunch, but some of our group was on a different bus with no lunch included. They accommodated myself and two friends to go on the other bus and offered a refund of the lunch part of the purchase without hesitation. I haven’t had a confirmation email yet, but when I logged into Viator it stated a refund was granted. Overall, a good experience and good customer service.

This was an amazing trip and moving experience for us. Such an incredible experience. Our guide Zoltan was such a wealth of knowledge. He really brought Normandy to life. It definitely poured buckets as we visited the beaches, but that was almost fitting for the solemn surrounding. Never forget.

Amazing day. Zoltan I think it was his name was a total delight. Very informative and engaged in conversation with all of us. There were around 16 in our group. It is a long day but worth the price. I highly recommend it. Kudos to Zoltion for driving 6 hours. He was an excellent driver.
