We arrived at 9:00. Our tour guide suggested we go into Notre Dame first. Good idea. We got in before the hordes arrived. Our guide, Jan, provided us with all kinds of interesting tidbits about Notre Dame, its history and its recent restoration. Really enjoyed the tour. I saw Notre Dame in 2004 so was excited to see it restored. I watched in horror in TV when the roof burned. I watched documentaries on its restoration. It was so wonderful to see the fresh refurbishment.
Avi was fantastic! He was incredibly knowledgeable, clearly passionate about art, and helped us navigate around the (very crowded) museum to make sure we could see the pieces. His narrative history of France was so helpful for our whole trip and brought to life the artists and their subjects. Highly recommend!!
Christophe gave an outstanding tour of the Louvre. He wove the historical context into the description of the art work, bringing the pieces to life. He also gave us a great recommendation to spend time in the Egyptian rooms afterwards, which was one of our favorite parts of the museum.
It was a wonderful experience. Our tour guide was Emilie and she was very impressive with her facts and trivia questions. We enjoyed our time with her, the walk over was nice and we had no problems getting through Security to the elevators. The views were amazing from the second and top floors, gift shops with a lot of cute items.
Arrive early to the meeting point. We arrived at 7a local and while the Cafe Regalia (the meeting point) was not open on Saturday at 7a when we arrived, there was a hotel a couple of minutes down the street whose restaurant was open a nd their food was SOOO good and the staff was nice. Regarding the trip itself, the Viatar staff was very knowledgeable and cared about what they did. Both the deiver who met us and the guide who navigated us through Versailles were excellent. They were very thorough in what they did. The experience was wonderful. Do be prepared to walk a lot and for those who may be older, be prepared to navigate some stairs. Afterwards, the train ride back allows you to go wherever you want in Paris to do what you want to do. Awesome experience!
Julie took us through the louvre and it really felt like a once in a lifetime experience. She focused on the biggest pieces in the collection, including The Mona Lisa. Because of the time of year being the dead winter, and the time of day being towards the end, there were so few people in the museum. We were able to sit right in front of artwork and chat for as long as we wanted. We also got amazing pictures of the artwork. She is so knowledgeable and so engaging in her review of each piece. Recommend this tour for couples, solo travelers, families, really anyone.
The tour itself was wonderful. I cannot recommend City Wonders and the tour guide Ana enough. She went above and beyond our expectations. However, we almost missed the tour because the link on the viator email sent us to the wrong side of the Eiffel tower. This needs to be corrected.
This is a very nice tour. Laura, our tour guide was great. Funny and knowledgeable. The perfect way to climb Montmartre outside the mainstream tourist trail. Learn about the area and the history of Paris. Thanks to our tour guide we also found a very nice lunch place to finish our half day in montmartre
On a cold, wet Saturday morning, the prospect of wandering around Paris for a couple of hours didn't seem that appealing, but having booked it, we turned up anyway. Alberto made us feel very welcome, and soon his infectious enthusiasm and in depth knowledge seemed to make the time fly by. It was a great introduction to the major sites of Central Paris, and we hardly noticed the rain. Well worth it.
Our guide, Jay, knows so much about the history of Paris and France. We learned a great deal about Notre Dame and saw some charming local squares and streets. babylon Tours is lucky to have him. The tour takes 2.5 hours, no rushing at all and easy walking.
There were just the two of us which made it a very personal experience.
Enjoyable to walk through the village; near Monet's grave is a beautiful village memorial to a British flight crew who lost their lives when their plane crashed. Monet's house is incredible and the gardens, he designed, are amazing to see and compare to his paintings in Paris museums! (Paintings in his house also!!)
Great info an perfume history, perfume, perfume making 101, created own sample. Our guide, Alexandra was excellent, communicated clearly, gave us time needed in workshop, assisted for seating needs and passionate about the topic.
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit.
Thank you!
