Archeologists make the best Tour guides

Our driver had good English and was very knowledgeable and was a total delight. Our tour guide Italio was amazing. Having an archeologist as a tour guide is the best. His English was amazing and his insights were unbelievable. And he had worked on the site as a student and researcher

Our driver Franz picked us up on time, very knowledgeable, and fun! 1st stop was Vesuvius where he made sure we got through the gates. Vesuvius is definitely worth the hike but be prepared for cold and wind first thing in the morning. Views were stunning. Franz was extremely positive, upbeat, funny, and answered all our questions. He was willing to make random stops for photo opportunities. Our Pompeii guide Italio was super knowledgeable about Pompeii, guided us through the maze of people and his subtle humor was perfect for our group. Of course we wish we had alot more time since Pompeii is a big area. We barely made a dent in our 2 hours. Franz ended our trip to a local restaurant with food recommendations that were superb!

They left us at the port with no tour!

We booked this tour 8 months in advance. We had confirmation though the app. And it was pre-paid. We got off the ship and waited 30min past the pick up time. I called Viator thay said we would be picked up in 15min. Waited another 30min. I had to call Viator back. They then said they did not get any confirmation and they canceled our tour. With no options, They didn't attempt to try to get us another tour. They just said sorry you're on your own. Viator did nothing to help! Just sad. WILL NEVER USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN!

Absolutely the highlight of our trip! What a wonderful way to experience Pompeii and Vesuvius! Raffaelo 'Lelo', our guide was a delight and we enjoyed every minute we spent with him as we experienced and learned about Pompeii.....just fantastic. And our trip to Vesuvius was so easy because of the skip-the-line trip. This was an experience that our whole family really enjoyed. Highly, highly recommend!

Good way to see Pompeii and Mt, Vesuvius in one day.

Our experience was good. The driver promptly picked us up and we went to Pompeii. The guide at Pompeii was good, stated took us through the ruins and had a good amount of information. After that the driver took us to lunch on the way to Mt. Vesuvius and we had a refreshing lunch as it was about 40 degrees Celsius that day. We drove to Mt. Vesuvius but declined to hike to the crater's edge as it was extremely hot that day. We made it back to the ship on time.

Very satisfying day thanks to this tour. The driver was punctual and stopped for photo spots but no souvenir shops:) After climbing Mt Vesuvius with the tickets already prepared by the tour, we headed to Pompei where the local guide met us. Fabio had wonderful hospitality and was super professional with great experience and plenty of knowledge to share with us. He planned out our Pompei walking tour based on the other places we were visiting. So glad we picked this tour.

Our guide was an archaeologist! He was very interesting— offering so much historical context. He did a wonderful job of showing us the highlights in a few hours. He really brought the ancient ruins to life with his stories. The hike to the top of Vesuvius crater was a bit physically intense but well worth the effort for the views. Lunch was not included — but our driver recommended a local (non-touristy) restaurant. Note that this tour really did skip lines — no waiting at all!

The driver is the key!

The most important part of this tour is getting a great driver. There is a lot of driving. Maria was our guide at Pompeii and she did a great job. Paulo was our driver and he was personable and could speak English so we could communicate easily with him. In between Pompeii, we went to a winery to have lunch. We also did a wine tasting. I would not recommend the wine - personal preference. Afterward, we were driven to almost the top of Vesuvius and we climbed the rest of the way. The volcano was steaming and it was extremely peaceful, even though there were so many people. This was at the very beginning of May. Enjoy!

Way overpriced - be very careful as they are charging per passenger. We returned to Pompeii with a private car hire and spent roughly 30% of the total cost from this company (including entry fees). Even cheaper to go by train of course. Guide was fine but rushed.

Our tour, guide and driver were all fantastic!! The best way to experience Pompeii was with a private guide, we learned so much and she took us directly to specific locations and avoided a lot of the crowds - so much knowledge and passion for the rich history! Our driver was great too - he was communicative, gave us extra time when needed, offered recommendations, and even to stop for lunch! This tour was exceptional for the value in comparison to other private tours

Excellent tour! Our driver pickup from the train station was on time and professional. Our guide, Alienzo, met us at the entrance as soon as we arrived in Pompeii. He was very entertaining and extremely knowledgeable about the city and history. Our driver had a stopped planned for lunch on the way up to Vesuvius, with a table reserved that had a great view of Naples. Great tour, and highly recommend.
