An incredible site. The vantage point from the top is the opposite side of the Bay of Naples from Mt. Vesuvius. It is a hike to get to the top, but worth it. Make sure you visit the museum as well. Highly recommend.

Fascinating place to visit even though there was torrential rain and a thunderstorm while we were there! Castel Sant'Elmo is an amazing historic building with a very impressive entry gate - a hexagonal medieval fortress built from volcanic tufa on the hilltop overlooking Naples not the seaside castle - Castel dell'Ovo - which I think is the one currently shown in the photo!. Some of the rooms within the castle are used as administration offices so are not open to the public but there is a restored church and an interesting art gallery in the parade quadrangle at the top and the view from the walkways and parapets would be excellent on a clear day. Well worth a visit. We enjoyed ours.

Die Burg ist sehr toll, man hat einen unglaublichen Ausblick auf Neapel, der Golf und die vorgelagerten Inseln. Die Aktivität für sich, ist sehr zu empfehlen! Leider habe ich nicht das Ticket erhalten, welches ich gebucht und für welches ich bezahlt habe. Ich hatte den Slot für 10:30 Uhr gebucht. Nach langem hin und her bekam ich ein Ticket für den späten Eintritt ab 16:00 Uhr. Dieses wäre deutlich günstiger gewesen!
