Itinerary

Wait for your private guide at 8:30am by the Naples cruise port, train station, or your hotel. You’ll then travel out of the city to the ancient ruins of Pompeii and Herculaneum. s you travel, you’ll listen to stories about each of the sites from your driver guide. Spend time at Pompeii and at Herculaneum to learn about life in the towns before the infamous Mt. Vesuvius eruption of AD79. If you want to discover even more, upgrade to include walking tours, guided by a local archaeologist at each site.

After exploring the ruins, enjoy some free time for lunch at your own expense. Then, travel onward to Mt. Vesuvius. After a drive up the steep slopes of the volcano, you’ll hop out of your vehicle for the 25-minute hike up the steps to the crater’s lip.

Meet a volcanologist guide at the top, and hear tales about the eruption — and the conditions that led to it. Use some free time to wander around the crater and peer into the ground, then return to your transport for the journey back to Naples. Your day trip ends around 5pm with a drop-off at the start point.

Antonio is a decent gentleman indeed he arranged the pickup timely and the drop off as well besides giving us a good time for lunch in a good place by his recommendation. The tour guide, a lady who I forgot her name wasn’t up to the expectations. She wasn’t prepared with the tickets for Pompeii and made us to wait for a quite long time (half an hour) I explained that I can’t wait and I don’t mind to pay for new tickets. Eventually I asked her to go with the rest of family and leave me alone as I can’t tolerate such mis-arrangement but she insisted I go with them. She talked nonstop afterward to a level that we’d to find any excuse to cut the tour. Continued with Antonio afterward. I wished there are 2 evaluations for this trip (one for the driver and the other for the guide)

Our driver/guide was very pleasant and knowledgeable. He picked us on time and gave us lots of information about the region and its landmarks. Our guide in Pompeii and Herculaneum was absolutely fantastic and quite knowledgeable. He gave us as much time as we wanted and answered all our questions. This trip is highly recommended.

The driver was prompt and always there when he said he would be. The van was clean and spacious. The only negative was in the afternoon Mt Vesuvius was totally foggy and could not see the volcano.

We were very pleased that we have a private excursion on this. The guide was very good and she really did try and highlight the key points for us to see. Would highly recommended a tour like this if you only have a really short period of time to see all 3 places. The pick up should be better. The driver arrived late due to mis communication I presume about the location of the place where we stayed. There was no proactive management on the company to call and find out. We have to actively do this. We would have given this a 5 star on the guide, Pick up: 3 star.
