This is not well planned out. We thought we would be doing a tour with a group of people all doing the same itinerary, but we were not. I don't want to sound entitled, but the driver spoke no English and we spoke little Italian which also contributed to a lot of confusion. He would have to call his tour company to translate. We missed part of tour because we had people who needed to be back to their cruise ship by a certain time.

Just a driver- not a tour!

this tour is well built. they take you to 3 main attractions and leave you there with enough time to explore it yourself. so far, the good part... but that's it! yhus is NOT a tour! the driver doesnt say a word while driving, like talking about pompei or somehistory or bqckground- nothing! also, the driver just leave you and go without checking if you managed to get it (or do you have enough water)... so if you want a pure driver- this is an expensive option... if you want a tour- this is not it!

Our driver was clear on where and when to pick up. We prefer being able to go at our own pace and this was exactly that. There was enough time at each place that you didn't feel rushed. Only issue was no exact time for a proper lunch so make sure you avail yourself of the cafés at Pompeii as they had the best choices.

Poor experience and service by driver

The main issue was the constant attempts to rip us and the others off. In Pompeii we were given a free map on entry. Why then did the driver take us to a tourist office literally across the road from Pompeii where we were told we had to buy a map and audio guide for entry at the price of 10 euros each. One party paid 40 euros for literally nothing. Then at Vesuvius we were told by the driver if we wanted we could stop an hour for dinner. If we all agreed it would cost us 5 euros each that would be paid direct to the driver. After refusing this and coming down from Vesuvius and after being willing to wait for us earlier for this dinner, the driver after taking us to Herculaneum informed us he wasn't taking us back and we would have to be picked up by someone else. Really poor experience and ideally I want for money back for being forced to buy audio guides that weren't given as a choice

Its basically car service to get you to these 3 places. Our driver was great. 2 hour stop is definitely not enough time in Pompeii. I would reccomend doing 3 hours there and cutting the other 2 stops by 30 mins each.

Our driver was very friendly, shared information about areas we were passing and where we were going. Herculaneum was my favorite of the three as it was smaller, and more preserved. Mt Vesuvius was steeper and colder then we thought it would be and wish we hired a guide for Pompeii! Pompeii is so large we got so lost, missed the best parts because we got so lost and even having the paper map, and had to hurry to get to the meeting point, LOL! So happy we did the tour, thank you!

Great choice to see everything

This trip is excellent if you have a short amount of time to experience everything. This is self guided so go in knowing that. Also, make sure to grab a map in Pompeii and mark your meeting point. I didn’t and got so lost there. Plus, the crowds put me into a panic. I thought I missed the pickup and ugly girl cried. Fortunately, Vincent, the driver, called and texted me through the entire episode and went out of his way to find me. He made sure the group safely made it to each location and safely back to our meeting points. I would’ve had a terrible experience if it wasn’t for Vincent and instead, had a relaxing and memorable time at Herculaneum.

Vesuvius visit was good, and 1.5 hours was the right amount of time. Herculaneum visit was also good, but 2 hours could be reduced to 1 hour or 1.5 hours and some of the time given to Pompeii. 2 hours given to Pompeii visit but would be better to be a little longer, although we found it hard to figure out where on the map we were. It was very hot also, which made it very tiring. It is tiring doing all 3 visits on the same day.

Our driver Mauro, was friendly and an amazing driver, always right on time, with convenient pick up spots. Please know there are absolutely no guides for any part of the tour but we were fine with that. There were only 4 people and we were very comfortable in the Mercedes vehicle. With the twists and turns on the ride up Vesuvius I would have had motion sickness on a bigger vehicle for sure. A wonderful day.

See a lot and walk a lot

You get to see a lot during the day, Herculaneum 2h, Vesuvius 2h, Pompeii 2h. However, you need to be good on foot. In my opinion Pompeii should be the frist stop and Herculaneum the last stop, as you have to walk longer distances in Pompeii than in Herculaneum and it is better if you do it when your feets are not yet tired. Furthemore 2h for Pompeii are rather short, you won't be able to see everything. In contrast 2h for each Herculaneum and Vesuvius are more than enough.

Great one day experience. Our driver, Guido, was exceptional! The vehicle was excellent as well. He made great contact before the trip for pick up and give great advice throughout the day at each stop. He even made dinner arrangements for us after our tour. I wish we could used Guido for all our excursions!

The worst part of our trip

I booked this tour to all 3 places in a small van. The day before the tour I recieved a message stating they would not fulfill our tour due to being the only 2 people who booked. They did offer to switch us to a choice of 2 different tours, neither of which visited all 3 places. We arrived at the meeting point to see a run down bus from the 70s that looked and sounded like it was falling apart and made for a horribly uncomfortable ride. There were also double the people on this tour than the max number on the one that I had booked. When in Pompeii the tour guide rushed through all the information and had the attitude of "I do this all the time". After walking through the ruins and entering the museum she rush us in the museum, pointed out 3 things, then rushed us out not giving a chance to look in the majority of the space. Then there was the included lunch. For all the other members of this tour, there was an option of a pizza lunch or a wine tasting with pasta. This choice was not given to us and were given the pizza when we would have much preferred the pasta and wine tasting. When getting to vesuvius, while the tour stated that we were given 2 hours at each site, we were told to meet back at the bus in 1.5 hr and it did not leave much time to explore the top of the site. Overall I was extremely dissatisfied with my experience and would not recommend this tour or this company in general to anyone.

This Tour Was a Total Waste of Money!!

THIS TOUR WAS A TOTAL WASTE OF A LOT OF MONEY! We feel VERY cheated because it was not at all as it was described. 1) No one told us the pick up point was a long way from the ship. It was hardly a central pick up point for cruise travelers. All the other cruise passengers were picked up just outside the ship where all the other pick up cars were waiting. We had much trouble finding the meeting spot and it took us almost 30 minutes to walk there. 2) They offered to buy the Pompeii tickets for us and then charged us 5 Euros more per ticket than we would have paid at the window or on line - but they didn't tell us there was going to be a higher charge if they got the tickets. We were quite angry about this deception. 3) Once we finally found the man with the tickets, who had no sign with our name on it, he couldn't figure out how to make change for the Euros we gave him and seemed very angry that we did not have the correct amount. 4) The reason we purchased this tour was because it said we would be given descriptive commentary as we drove from place to place that would tell us about the sites we were going to visit. OUR DRIVER DIDN'T SPEAK ENGLISH!!! We got NO commentary of any kind. THIS IS NOT WHAT WE PAID FOR! 5) We got to Mt. Vesuvius and it was too foggy to see anything so we turned around and came back down. The driver, had he spoken English, should have told us about other options since we did not know what the possibilities were. There was no alternative tour site offered. We felt very cheated. 6) When we got to Pompeii, our driver was unable to tell us where to go to get audio headsets or a guide, so we wandered around for half an hour looking for this spot - a total waste of time. He was not at all helpful anywhere. All he did was drive. Not how the tour was described. THIS TOUR WAS A TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY! IT WAS NOT AT ALL AS DESCRIBED.

We were very well taken care of our driver Mauro, towards the widow on which my son - passionate about volcano - had pleasure to climb. Then on to Herculatum, a small Roman town that was also destroyed by the eruption of 79 AD. Beautiful ruins. Then departure for Pompei where we ate before making the ruins. We left with lots of pictures and lots of memories. The only downside for me that can not stand the heat, I will come back to be widowed but not in July.

LO malo de esta visita es que publicitan una cosa y luego no se realiza, esta excursión eran 3 horas en Pompeya, 1,5 Herculano y 1,5 en el volcán. Pues por intereses de ellos fue todo a 2 horas en cada sitio. Por lo que en Pompeya no se disfruto de casi nada por el tiempo y no se pudo ver toda, los demás sitios todo bien. El conductor solo hablaba en Italiano e Ingles pero se hacia entender. Cuando me queje del tiempo me dijeron que era por atender a otros servicios y que asi estaba bien para verlo todo.

El chófer llegó tarde, lo que nos supuso media hora menos de estar en Pompeya. Cuando llegamos, resulta que teníamos que hacer cola igual porque no teníamos una entrada, sino un voucher: otra media hora. El Vesubio y Herculano muy bien: el día acabo mejor que empezó. Vincenzo (el chófer) nos iba explicando cosas en el coche, pero para Pompeya habría hecho falta un guía (si ofreces 2’5h allí, qué menos que aprovecharlas bien incluído en el precio), y habría que avisar a quien reserva del calzado que necesita, especialmente para el Vesubio, que lo subimos en chanclas! Igualmente, por la gestión y la rapidez que te deja no estar pendiente del transporte, yo lo recomiendo.
