If you are looking for the perfect introduction to Naples, look no further than a walking tour with Donatella. Our family of three (including a 12-year-old) began our two-week Italian holiday with her 3-hour "Centro Storico" tour, and it was the best decision we could have made.
Donatella met us promptly at our hotel in Piazza Bellini and led us through the heart of the city. Strolling down Via Dei Tribunali and the iconic Spaccanapoli was a sensory delight—everything you imagine Naples to be, from the colorful laundry fluttering overhead to the incredible aromas of local cuisine. We visited the historic San Lorenzo Maggiore and the stunning Santa Chiara, where we were even lucky enough to catch a glimpse of a beautiful bride arriving for her wedding! We finished the tour taking in the grandeur of Galleria Umberto and Piazza del Plebiscito.
What truly set this tour apart, however, was Donatella herself. Having just arrived from California the day before, my husband and son were struggling with major jet lag and were, admittedly, a bit disengaged at first. Donatella was incredibly gracious and patient. She went above and beyond to connect with my tween, and once they discovered their mutual love for Pokémon and video games, the energy completely shifted! Seeing my son open up and engage with the city was a highlight for me.
Donatella is deeply knowledgeable and fiercely proud of the Campania region. Since we visited around Christmas, she shared fascinating insights into local holiday traditions that we never would have learned otherwise. She was a massive part of our Naples story, and I cannot recommend her highly enough. If you want a guide with heart, expertise, and the "cool factor" to win over a teenager, Donatella is the one!

I love a walking history tour and this one didn't disappoint!
I worked with our tour guide prior to my arrival to customize our tour itinerary based on our interests, which consisted of history, culture, and food. We spent our three-hour tour walking end-to-end in Naples, learning of its history, evolution of its culture and beliefs, and some historical facts about its food culture. Because we selected food to be incorporated into the tour, I would've liked for there to be 1-2 actual tastings added in to also allow for some breaks in the three hours of walking in the afternoon. Perhaps I should've been clearer with the guide in planning.
Never the less, I would recommend this experience to someone traveling to Naples! Our guide was so accommodating to even recommending another tour operator who helped in planning some aspects of our trip in Ischia and helped me navigate the ferry system prior to my arrival. She definitely went above and beyond!

Naples is a very interesting city with a lot of history. Serena was very knowledgeable, courteous and very easy going. For 3 hours she talked about Naples history and as native napolitana, how very proud she is of her culture and city. Exploring all different parts of the city with a local is a must. Alessandro was a warm and welcoming tour guide that truly covered so much in a few hours. We saw 2 churches and had the best coffee in Italy. We saw the best part of the Spaccanapoli and the Spanish Quarter. We made food suggestions for great pastries and pizza. The best part was the we received great suggestions on What's app after our tour and he stayed in touch with us to answer any questions we had. Our guide Angela really knew Napoli as a native and shared experiences of growing up here and connecting us to the life of the city. We saw many sites…some typical tourist destinations but also did some different experiences like riding the funiculare. Angela was friendly and happy to respond to our direction.
