Excellent trip to see Mount Vesuvius

Pick up was smooth. Navigating Naples traffic is always “fun “. Driver gave us information along the way. Beautiful views along the way of Naples bay. I only wish it were a clearer day. A word to the wise please wear comfortable shoes and consider layering. The walk to the caldera is demanding but doable. Views are amazing and you can still see active vent. This booking also served as transfer to train station. Something I encourage people to think about with this booking. Would definitely recommend

An unforgettable experience

This was actually just a taxi ride from our hotel to the turnstiles at the foot of Vesuvius. Not a tour as such . Our driver Antonio was polite and charming but spoke absolutely no English. Our communication was in sign language! A bit frustrating as we noted the tour was in English. That apart he had our tickets and a lovely smile. We arrived at 830am and had to wait for half and hour before the gates opened which was a waste of time. But aside from all we had a fabulous time and getting to the top was awesome. The walk up was tougher than I had thought .. 40 mins only but on Lava sand and a long hike uphill in the heat. But taken slowly it was unforgettable. A lovely cairn collection from past hikers was an unexpected surprise and we added our own cairn too. This was a really terrific experience. Loved it.

Taxi confortable, chauffeur agréable et faisant des efforts pour nous parler en Français. Dépose juste à l’entrée du site. Montée au sommet et promenade autour du cratère assez facile. À faire, vraiment.
