The blue grotto was a memorable experience

There were good points and some trying points on this tour. The guide was very friendly and we really enjoyed talking to her. Seeing the blue grotto is a little chaotic, worth it but know what you’re getting into. We came off a cruise ship, caught a ferry to Capri, then a smaller boat out to the grotto then had to transfer to a row boat. It was a bit physically challenging for an older person in our group. We sat in the sun for over an hour waiting on a row boat, someone from another family became sea sick. There’s really no line, the boat operators are begging a row boat to show them favor and ultimately I had to tip 20 euro to get on one. Then we transferred again to the larger boat to get back to Capri to catch a ferry. We did not have any free time in Capri. Then we caught a ferry to Positano. We had lunch and shopped but at the end we had to climb steep stairs and streets to get to the top for The driver to pick us up. I’ve done the Amalfi Coast 2 other times and was picked up at a lower spot. It was very physically difficult for my mother in her 60s. Overall the blue grotto was memorable and I’m glad we did it. I wish we had just stayed in Capri for the day and that the climb up in Positano would have been disclosed.

Positano is the vertical town with no elevator and no escalator because otherwise it would destroy the beauty, authenticity and the ancient part of the town. We hope next time you will still choose us and enjoy our private tour only in Capri with your mother :)
