Itinerary

Milan's highlights include one of the oldest churches in the world, an acclaimed opera house, fashionable boutiques aplenty and, of course, Leonardo’s mural The Last Supper. See all this and more on your half-day tour of Milan.

For your first stop, you’ll stroll through the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele arcade with its luxury outlets, and admire the chic goods on display.

Then, head to the Milan Cathedral next door. Admire the scale and beauty of the cathedral and learn of its long history before stepping inside to tour the interior. Your admission ticket is include.

After the cathedral, continue through parts of Milan, and learn about the city’s history and rep as a fashion capital. Then, continue to the La Scala. Prepare to be wowed by the prestigious Milan opera house, with its ornate stage that glistens under crystal chandeliers. Gaze down at the orchestra pit from the public box, and take a quick look inside La Scala Museum with your guide.

Finally, you’ll pay homage to The Last Supper, a work widely touted as Leonardo’s pièce de résistance. Skip the lines and head inside to see the famous depiction of Jesus’ last meal, and learn about its conservation issues and ensuing visitor restrictions from your guide. To keep the painting in its restored glory, all Last Supper tours are limited to 15 minutes.

Your tour then finishes at The Last Supper Museum.

Please note: the order of the itinerary may vary on the day.

If a rehearsal or show is taking place during your La Scala visit, you will not visit the public box.

A must do. The painting sure is a masterpiece. Not to be missed. We nearly missed our train to Florence.

Excellent tour

Massimo is an experienced tour guide. He knows so much about the history and secrets of Duomo Milan, La Scala and his explanations and deep input of The last supper disciples made the tour so enriching and enjoyable

Be ready to walk through crowds & keep pace in the mid-sized tour group. A short hop on/off bus ride to final destination is included.

The Last Supper Was Great

Diane_B, Jul 2026
Seeing The Last Supper was an incredible experience. However, it was very hot the day we toured (which was not the tour guide's fault), but the rest of the tour was really rather boring. It was clear he was losing most of the audience, but he continued on. There was no opportunity to have 15 minutes to get a drink or snack - it was quite hot and the tour was over 3-1/2 hours. We started 30 minutes late.

I booked this tour for my parents who reported that they had a wonderful time and their guide was incredible (unfortunately, I was unable to get the guide’s name!). Shortly before their trip, my parents dealt with some medical issues and were unable to make the full-walking tour due to the heat and limited mobility. The tour company was very accommodating in working with me to allow my parents to join for the last portion to visit The Last Supper. This was my mother’s long-time dream and she was so moved to see the fresco. Thank you for working with the us to allow this special moment for my parents!

Cody_D, Jul 2026
The guide was disappointing. Had so many technical difficulties we only heard 1/2 of what she said and then she left half of the group on the way from Duomo to the Last Supper. Would not take a tour with her again. The duomo however was amazing even without a guide. And the last supper lived up to expectations by itself.

Response from Host, Jul 2026

Thank you for your honest feedback. We're sorry about the technical difficulties and that part of the group was left behind — this isn't acceptable, and we're reviewing it with the guide directly.

Loved the sights, tour could use some improvements.

Sandra_C, Jul 2026
Decent tour of a few main places, the guide was very knowledgeable, however spoke quickly and was hard to hear through the audio devices which impacted the experience. However, we loved the opera house and Last Supper and in smaller quarters we got the chance to ask some questions

Long hot and worth every minute

DarlaS_M, Jun 2026
It was a long walking tour. I probably would not do it on such a hot day in the future. Seeing Lascala, the Duomo of Milan, and the last supper was wonderful and I would not miss it.

Disappointed

Dean_S, Jun 2026
The tour guide was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable however the ear bud sound system was extremely limited and missed 50% of each sentence. More importantly the group was large and she did not tune in to the individuals needs. She talked continuously and fast but no dialogue. No questions. Also her vocal skills were melodic almost singing each sentence. It was distracting and easy for me to tune out I am sorry - hate negative reviews. But we did cover all the main sites as promised Dean S

Response from Host, Jun 2026

Dear Dean, thank you for sharing your experience and for acknowledging our guide's enthusiasm and knowledge. We are sorry to hear that the audio equipment let you down — we fully understand how frustrating it must have been to miss parts of the commentary. This is something we take very seriously and are actively working to improve. We also appreciate your feedback about the group size and the pacing of the tour. Your comments will help us create a better, more personalized experience for future guests. We are glad you were able to cover all the main sites as promised, and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back for an improved experience.

Renee_G, Jun 2026
Travelers should know this tour involves a lot of walking on ha d surfaces and to have water with you if you’re touring during the summer months. The ride to Last Supper in hop-on-hop-off was an unexpected treat. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed the experience!

Best way to see the city is to walk the city

Terrance_M, Jun 2026
This tour was amazing - Massimo was a great story teller and kept everything moving. He brought the city to life. I would not recommend this tour if you have trouble walking - we had a few people who had a hard time keeping up. I didn’t realize we would tour the opera house and its museum, but it was really cool. And, you would not believe how much of an impact seeing Leonardo’s Last Supper Fresco will have on you - you have not been to Milan if you don’t see it.

I thought it was very well explained. The only thing I didn't realize was it left you in a different spot to where we started

Excellent tour guide Massimo

Massimo was an amazing tour guide. He was incredibly knowledgeable and made the city of Milan truly memorable. He had great stories, passion, and kept everything running on time.

Rip off

Lisa_G, Jun 2026
When you are told you won’t see the stage at. La Scala, it really means you won’t see the interior of the theatre. It means you will only see a few rooms in the museum and your guide needs to fill time by talking and talking. Our guide was particularly aggressive, barking questions at the group that was tired and obviously disappointed. .

Response from Host, Jun 2026

Dear Lisa, thank you for sharing your experience. We are truly sorry to hear that the tour did not meet your expectations. Regarding La Scala, we understand how disappointing it can be to expect full access to the theatre — the tour description refers to the museum and the historic boxes, as access to the main stage area is not included in this visit. We sincerely apologize if this was not communicated clearly enough. We are also very concerned about your comments regarding the guide's attitude. This is absolutely not the standard of service we aim to provide, and we will address this matter directly with our team. We appreciate your honest feedback as it helps us improve. Warm regards, Zani Viaggi

Half Day Walking Tour In Milan

Anette_S, Jun 2026
We had a unique situation, we were coming in by train from Venice and the train was an hour delayed so we missed our tour meet up location. The trip for three of us was paid in advance 411 Euros and most of the attractions the Duomo, the Galleria and La Scala were all within a few blocks of each other since this was a walking tour, with the exception of the Last Supper which was the last stop on the tour and a short train ride away. I called the tour operator Zani Viaggi and asked if we could catch up with tour guide since it was local. I was told by the office manager, No! and that we were only able to see the Last Supper, providing that we came to their office and first signed a waiver, saying that we were late. Only then would they provide us with the details on how to meet the tour guide ONLY to see the Last Supper. When I asked her nicely if we could meet up with the tour guide to see the rest of the trip since it was in the area near her office, she said No.There was no way to contact anyone. I find it hard to believe with cell phones that they couldn't get in touch with their employee in the middle of the afternoon. They made little effort to help us unless, we signed a waiver and that was the only way they would release the information on where to meet the tour guide for the last part of the tour which was the Last Supper. I find this poor business practice. If this tour is offered by any other company go with another company. I think Viator should look into this matter. I've been on many of Viator's tours and never had such a poor experience.

Response from Host, Jun 2026

Dear Anette, we sincerely apologize for the frustrating experience you and your group had. We understand how stressful it must have been to miss the meeting point due to an unforeseen train delay, and we deeply regret that our team was not more flexible and helpful in assisting you to rejoin the tour. Your feedback regarding the waiver process and the difficulty in reaching our guide is noted, and we will review our procedures to ensure a more customer-friendly approach in such situations. We are truly sorry that this experience did not reflect the quality of service we strive to provide. We would very much like to discuss this further with you directly, so please do not hesitate to contact us. Thank you for your honest feedback.

Jennifer_A, Jun 2026
There was some traffic baracades, so the first part was on foot, but it was an easy walk from the starting point to the Duomo, to La Scala and back to the starting point before we went by bus to the Last Supper. La Scala theater was closed, but we got to go to the musuem and were given vouchers to go see the theater another day (which my friend and I did not have the time to do).

Response from Host, Jun 2026

Dear Jennifer, thank you for sharing your experience with us. We apologize for the inconvenience caused by the traffic barriers — these are unfortunately situations beyond our control, but we are glad the walk was manageable. Regarding La Scala, we understand it can be frustrating to receive vouchers for a future visit when time doesn't allow it, and we are sorry for this inconvenience. We appreciate your understanding and hope to welcome you back for a smoother and more complete experience.

Nice tour, a little long

Sarah_W, May 2026
Meet up was smooth and easy, visiting the Scalia theater, the duomo and the last supper painting were all pleasant and had good access with limited wait. The first part of the tour was very slow and stories weren’t very clear. It might be a much better tour with a different guide. Our guide, Massimo, was a bit abrasive. At one point, he even went over to harass another tour guide who he claimed was unlicensed. It was made clear at the beginning of the tour that we would be taking a bus to the final stop on the tour and the tour would end there. We were responsible for our own transportation from that point. We were able to take the metro back or we could have walked 30 minutes. It would be nice if that was more clear when you purchased the tour online.

Response from Host, Jun 2026

Dear Sarah, thank you for sharing your experience with us. We are glad to hear that the meeting point was well-organised and that you enjoyed visiting La Scala, the Duomo, and The Last Supper. We sincerely apologise for the pace of the first part of the tour and for any lack of clarity in the commentary. We also regret that the guide's interaction with another operator caused discomfort — this is certainly not the standard we expect. We have taken note of your feedback regarding the end-of-tour transport arrangements and will work to ensure this information is communicated more clearly during booking. Thank you for taking the time to help us improve, and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you on another tour in the future. Best regards, Zani Viaggi Team

Mostly walking

Lauri_P, May 2026
This is no fault of anyones but when we had our tour it was almost a hundred degrees out . I honestly think they should've canceled the tour. It says 'I hour walking then air conditioned vehicle' . That is not true. We walked for at least two hours in 96 degree heat. And the guide would stop in full sun and talk to us. It was truly unbearable. We had some relief in the opera house and duomo. The walking part lasted so long we didnt even have time to continue to see the Last Supper-which is nowhere near the starting point . And even though you are bussed to the location you are responsible for walking back to your hotel. We made it through the Duomo and decided not to continue due to the heat. We were all spent. And the audio equipment was terrible. You couldnt hear the guide unless you were close to him. If you could get tickets just to the Last Supper Id recommend doing that and skip the other parts.

Response from Host, Jun 2026

Thank you very much for your feedback. We are sincerely sorry to hear that the extreme heat affected your experience so negatively. Weather conditions of that level are unfortunately beyond our control, but we fully understand how challenging it can be to follow a walking tour in such circumstances. Your comment regarding the duration of the walking portion and the stops in direct sunlight is noted and will be carefully reviewed with our guides to improve guest comfort, especially during hot periods. We also apologize for the issues with the audio equipment and for any inconvenience caused by the timing that did not allow you to continue the full program. Your observations are very valuable to help us refine both logistics and communication. We truly appreciate you taking the time to share your experience and hope to have the opportunity to provide you with a much more enjoyable tour in the future.

Bruce_S, May 2026
While this was a very informative tour, it was very long. We knew that going in but we spent a lot of time at the Scala Theatre. Next we saw the Duomo Cathedral, then a bus trip over to the Last Supper. We were on our own to get back from there.

Response from Host, May 2026

Dear Bruce, thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We are glad you found the tour informative and enjoyed visiting La Scala Theatre, the Duomo Cathedral, and Leonardo da Vinci's Last Supper. We appreciate your feedback regarding the pace and the time allocation at each stop — this is very valuable for us as we continually work to improve the experience for our guests. Regarding the return from the Last Supper, as mentioned in the tour description, the endpoint differs from the meeting point, and guests make their own way back from there. However, we understand this may not have been entirely clear, and we will review how we communicate this information. We hope to welcome you on another tour in the future. Warm regards, Zani Viaggi

Not as described

Frank_Z, May 2026
Much longer than 3.5 hours. Very large group (too big). We couldn’t see the theater because of a light rehearsal and back 1/2 of the Duomo was closed off. The tour guide was very knowledgeable but it was way to slow!!

Response from Host, May 2026

Dear Frank, thank you for sharing your feedback. We are sorry to hear that your experience did not fully meet your expectations. We acknowledge that the tour can run longer than the approximate times stated, especially when visiting multiple landmarks in a busy city. Regarding the group size, we understand how important it is to have an enjoyable and comfortable experience, and we take your comment seriously. As for the La Scala Theatre and the partial closure of the Duomo, unfortunately these situations are sometimes caused by events and maintenance works outside of our control, and we apologize for the inconvenience this caused. We appreciate your kind words about the guide's knowledge and will work to improve the overall pace of the tour. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again and provide a much better experience. Warm regards, Zani Viaggi
