Malta experience

Our tour guide, Louis, was more than excellent. His grasp of the history of the island as well as his personality made for a terrific tour. His English was excellent which helped two folks from the states understand the information he shared. I would highly recommend Marlon Tours through Victor when in Malta!!

This was exactly my kind of excursion! We were on a cruise, and as most cruisers know, ship excursions tend to leave very early in the morning. Unfortunately, my son had an injury and needed to see the ship’s doctor that morning, so we had to cancel our original excursion. I still wanted to explore Malta later in the day and was so glad to find this wonderful tour that offered an afternoon option. There were six of us total—four others from our cruise and us—so it felt like a private small-group tour. We traveled in a comfortable Mercedes van with excellent air conditioning (a huge relief since it was a very hot day). The van even had a video system that provided helpful background information about Malta and the sites we were visiting, which really enhanced the drive between stops. Our driver was professional and drove very smoothly, making the ride pleasant and safe. Upon boarding, we were given an agenda outlining the stops and time at each location, which I appreciated. The entire tour lasted about four hours, and the pacing felt perfect. The first stop offered breathtaking views, and then we headed to the Blue Lagoon. This was the highlight for me! I would have completely missed this experience if we had stuck with the ship’s excursion. For €10 per person, we took a 30-minute boat ride through the caves and around the Blue Lagoon—it was absolutely gorgeous and worth every euro. We visited several other sites before ending at the walled city, where we had free time to wander and explore on our own. Malta itself was stunning, and I’m so thankful we found this tour. It didn’t have a lot of reviews at the time, but I can confidently say it was one of the best tours of our entire cruise. If you’re looking for a later start time or want a small group experience with knowledgeable commentary and excellent service, this is the perfect choice. We felt completely safe and well cared for the entire time. Highly recommended!

The tour was amazing , it moved at the perfect pace . All the stops were great , our favorite was the blue grotto and the walled old city . At the end he gave us the option to be dropped off at valleta or back at the boat . Our guide was great !

Great Overview of Malta

While we imagine there’s more to Malta than the few places on the itinerary, we feel like we got a good overview for the time that we had. Our guide arrived on time, and we never felt rushed. He provided us with much information about the sights along the way and also the country and its fascinating history and culture. As an added bonus, he also used WhatsApp to send us some beautiful and dramatic photographs that were taken with a drone.

Great way to see the best of Valletta

Great tour of Malta. We took a boat to see the blue grotto and then to the silent city Mdina. This was a perfect amount of time and saw the highlights. At the end Charlie gave us the option to shop in the main area, not to far from the ship or take us back to the ship. THank you Charlie for the great tour !!

Better communication needed

There were a couple of challenges on this trip. Driver showed up 10 mins late - we were panicking that we were in the wrong location. No response from company when we reached out. When we stopped at the blue lagoon, driver did not provide times or expectations for return so several guests decided to go for a swim after the blue lagoon visit. We ended up waiting for them for 45 mins. Otherwise, it was fine. Primarily provided transportation around the city.

If you was 10 minutes late, my driver is not going to leave without you or give you low feedback, but he will wait a bit. You had instructions to meet at the cruise terminal exit, there is only one cruise terminal exit, you didn't have to panick, or if you had why it's our foult. My driver always give the return times especially when it is a shared tour and not private, let say you was astonished by the views and you didn't hear him, before you left you should ask him your self for your protection, and how you could wait 45min if the blue Grotto stop is 45 min. If you're not happy with our service I'm sorry, but the reviews speak for us, thanks

Glad we did it- but HOT.

So glad I did this from the cruise ship. I was happy they called me because I was standing down on walkway for cruise ships and they were up in the van on the street level. That was the most stressful part was finding them from ship. Once in the van (which needed AIR CONDITIONING!) it was great. Our tour guide was named Elena and she was delight. So kind and spoke English well. Our driver was Mark (the one who called me to say they were leaving without me if I didn't get up to road level) was also very nice. The tour itself was great. First stop was overlooking the Blue Grotto and it was gorgeous. Then we were able to go down to get on the boats to tour through- this was not included in our tour price, but was only $10 euros pp but they only took CASH. Then we headed up to another beautiful overlook of the the cliffs. There was a vender up there as well and thankfully they took cash. The van being hot was disappointing, but the tour and the tourguide and driver were amazing.

Good tour. Bring cash for the blue grotto boat ride.

Tour was interesting and worth it. The scenery was amazing but the tour guide was ok. One thing they don't tell you is to bring €10 CASH per person to take the must-see blue grotto boat tour. We were lucky we had cash but easily could have missed out.

Hi Jason, Don't warry nobody is going to miss the boat ride with us because we explain in the van that they except only cash Euro, but for those that they have no cash euros on them we point them to an ATM machine 20m far from the ticket both to withdraw some money for the boat ride. My advise, in Malta card payments are not excepted everywhere.

A Malta taster

Our guide Chris was very knowledgeable and made the tour fun. It would have been helpful to have the option to either swim at the Blue lagoon or go on the boat trip. We had enough time to see and do what was needed to have a taster of Malta. Very prompt and kept to timings.

Our tour was fantastic. Chris a fantastic guide and made our experience so unique with all his stories and info. He took us to the most beautiful places and though I was sad the water and weather didn’t cooperate with our grotto boat time Malta was still the best tour of our whole trip.

We loved Chris and his knowledge of Malta. Due to high winds, we were unable to see the Blue Grotto by boat, but Chris made sure we could see it by taking us to Belvedere. I appreciated that so much because I was really looking forward to seeing it. Great trip! Highly recommend!
