Itinerary
In the morning, head to Piccadilly Circus to meet your guide and group, and begin your Sherlock Holmes walking tour.
Learn about the beloved 19th-century fictional detective—the brainchild of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle—and his most tangled and fascinating adventures. Pass the initial meeting place of Holmes and Dr. Watson, and continue to the Royal Academy building, used in the film adaptation of the 1979 thriller "Murder by Decree."
Follow your guide’s carefully laid trail past famous book and film locations, including grand hotels, pubs, and gentlemen’s clubs. See the sights that inspired Doyle, and follow in the footsteps of actors such as Benedict Cumberbatch and Robert Downey Jr., who played Holmes on screen.
Stop at the site of the fictional Diogenes Club, known for its strict no-talking rule, as well as Somerset House. This tour offers plenty of time to brush up on Holmes lore, ask questions and snap photos.
Your tour concludes on the Strand in Central London.

For fans of Sherlock Holmes this tour has all the details. One learns about recent series and movies all the way back to the first movies. You learn about the author's life and it influenced the Sherlock Holmes stories. You visit places depicted in movies and books.

Lots of interesting information about Sherlock Holmes throughout the various media, TV, movies, and Stage.
DaleA_T, Sep 2025
Period formative walking tour outstanding guide. Remember, Sherlock holmes and doctor watson are products of Conan Doyle's imagination.
LindaAnn_D, Jul 2025
Fun and interesting walk around London spotting many sites that appear in Sherlock Holmes movies and are referenced in books. Our guide was excellent. Would highly recommend but wear your good walking shoes, it covers a lot of territory.

Pace was perfect! Ian was very entertaining and informative! Highly recommend! We saw and learned a lot!
Christopher_H, Jul 2025
Very interesting & entertaining tour. One need not be a Sherlock Holmes fan to enjoy it. Ian was a great guide.
Alex_L, Jul 2025
Owen delivered a spectacular performance covering a variety of Sherlock Holmes related spots! A must do!
Michelle_S, Mar 2025

Steph was inviting, informative, and inspiring! We had a total blast exploring the streets of London and finding the places that breathed reality into the world’s most favorite fictional detective. I loved how there were locations from so many different versions of Sherlock, from the books to the shows to the movies. I also learned a lot about how scenes are shot and created. I recommend this tour to anyone of any level of fan.

Anyone who is lucky enough to have Spencer as a guide will have a an amazing tour. He is funny and entertaining and knowledgeable about London filming locations. We had a blast.
Susan_R, Oct 2024
We left this tour within the first 15 minutes as we realized it was seemingly about where certain scenes were filmed for the TV series and movie starring Benedict Cumberbach. We would have been more engaged had the tour guide introduced himself and given a preliminary overview of how our 90 minutes was to be spent...as other tour guides have always done. We have taken many tours! However, after a couple of stops near the Eros statue when he showed us pictures in his notebook and a couple of related building landmarks, he strode away down the very busy construction zone of Piccadilly without a backwards glance among us as we our goers mixed with the heavy crowd. Since we had no idea where he actually was (we had no sight of him) and no idea where he was going or where we would end up, or what to expect from the rest of the tour, we left, very disappointed.

We love all things Sherlock Holmes so it was fun seeing all the filming spots and author fun facts throughout our walk. Plus our tour guide, Jenny, was great!
Martha_F, Sep 2024
It was great seeing all of the sights where movies and tv show we’re filmed
Jenny was very knowledgeable
I gave 4 stars, not 5, because 221B Bakers Street was not part of the tour
Kristin_G, Sep 2024
Great tour! Ian was very knowledgeable and added a lot of additional history about the city as we walked. The focus of this tour is on the movie/TV show adaptations of Sherlock Holmes rather than the books for the most part. Highly recommend for fans of Sherlock Holmes.
Rodney_G, Aug 2024
Jonathan was excellent. If you’re into the lure of Sherlock, this provides some great history and connections to London.
Ingrid_V, Aug 2024
Engaging presenter, Owen, provided interesting information about both Sherlock Holmes the character, and his author Arthur Conan Doyle, linking them to historical London locations. Very enjoyable.
Jennifer_M, Jun 2024
Jonathan was knowledgeable, kind, and found a way to make the tour fun even for my squirrelly 13 year old.
Kevin_B, Apr 2024
Michael was excellent. He had a wonderful knowledge of the novels and Of the popular and lesser known Sherlock Holmes movies.
Joel_B, Oct 2023
Michael was our guide, & we felt he was quite knowledgeable. But, he walked way too quickly. We had a very difficult time keeping up with him. Other than that, we enjoyed the experience, but it really would be better at a slower pace. At one point on The Strand, Michael was a full block ahead of us & we thought we had lost him.
Luna_O, Oct 2023
I had Spencer as my tour guide and he was great, made quite a fun tour and made the walking feel like nothing. and the fact he's a fan of Sherlock Holmes makes it greater, because he knows his stuff properly. lovely lad
Anthony_W, Oct 2023
Enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and entertaining host and a reasonable bit of exercise as well. Plenty of information beyond Holmes and Watson as well.
Michael_G, Sep 2023
Fiona was an excellent guide. Informative and animated. The tour was interesting and a must for Sherlock film fans---old films and new TV shows.
Stacey_L, Sep 2023
Michael was very knowledgeable and interesting to listen to. We really enjoyed hearing about all of the sites for the different movies and how they were used to create the movie scenes.
Carol_G, Aug 2023
Fiona was wonderful!! She made the tour so much fun and we learned so much too. We love her passion & contagious enthusiasm for Sherlock!
DawnL_Y, Jun 2023
Guide Fiona was lovely; but the tour officials should work it out with the Sherlock Holmes restaurant/pub to allow tour guests to view the pub and homage space to SH while on the paid-for tour instead of telling/expecting tour members to see it later on own. Also, more focus on the author and books.
ann_k, Jun 2023
Good storytelling
Wish it had more history rather than tv series .. felt missing
Baker st would be good
Deborah_P, Jun 2023
Chris was a wonderful guide! Very knowledgeable and welcomed comments and questions. Well worth the time and money to spend a morning with him!
