This was a great day! Weather was beautiful and the sites were perfect! It is a lot of walking and uphill at Dover Castle. Pooja and Desmond were awesome!

Had a great time on this trip. Pooja was a fantastic tour guide. She was constantly telling stories, giving us brief lessons on British history, and telling us a huge amount of info on the sites we saw. She was very friendly and helpful.
The only disappointment was that the war tunnels at Dover Castle were closed for refurbishment.

Brought my family for a taste of some of UK's most awe-inspiring sights and this tour was worth every penny - Pooja our our guide was extremely informative, professional and warm. We had enough time to appreciate each location (any more we would've been too exhausted), felt very well taken cared of and learned a lot of historical facts!! Thank you for the wonderful experience!

Lunch is not included and if you wait until Canterbury, it is almost 3:00 before you can grab lunch.
Ara_K, Aug 2026
The tour was perfect, Richard and Kay did an excellent job the entire day! The timing at each stop worked well.

Beautiful sites to Cliffs of Dover, Dover Castle, and Canterbury Cathedral. The ride was comfortable and driver was lovely. Ou tour guide Colum was just fantastic. It was a wonderful trip - highly recommended.

Our Guide, Andy and bus driver Jerome were fantastic. Andy was a great guide. Very knowledgeable and helpful, answering all our questions. He led us through, took pictures for us and was a fun to be with.
A wonderful tour, made that much better with Andy & Jerome.
Dover Castle was very cool. Unfortunately, the wartime tunnels were closed during our visit. The staff to the reenactment were hilarious. All visitors were brought in to the fun and games.
White Cliffs of Dover were breathtaking. The lower path was narrow, but Andy stayed with us.
Canterbury with lots of fun. The cathedral was beautiful and the main street in town was fun to walk-through.
I don’t know the tour was great, plenty of time to explore on our own in between. Making a perfect balance of sightseeing and on our own exploring. Would recommend this tour 100%
Thank you, Andy and Jerome for a wonderful day !!!!

Wonderful day spent touring Dover castle, walking along the cliffs of Dover, touring Canterbury cathedral and wandering around Canterbury. Lots of time at each stop to see everything. Eva and George were amazing.

Our tour guide was great, very friendly and knowledgeable. We wish we could have spent more than 15 minutes looking at the cliffs. There was no time to walk out there and really see them. We enjoyed Dover Castle and Canterbury. You had plenty of time to explore both of those places.

The 3 sights were fantastic - Dover Castle was very impressive, the White Cliffs were a marvel, and Canterbury Cathedral was awe inspiring. I’m so happy I took this trip. Anderson’s crew great. Amy our tour guide was very knowledgeable with lots of details. Our driver was great. He got us from place to place safely and quickly. This is a great tour.

This tour was so good the time flew away before I knew it. Andy was an exceptional tour guide, and very knowledgeable. Also, having the unexpected short walking tour in Canterbury town was a bonus at the end...thank you Andy!!!

We thoroughly enjoyed this tour, especially seeing the beautiful White Cliffs of Dover. We wished we’d had just a bit more time there to do the walk over to the cliffs. Unfortunately, the tour didn’t allow for that. It was also great to see Dover Castle and the Canterbury Cathedral, although we chose to explore each of them on our own as opposed to staying with the tour. I think we saw more of them by doing it that way. It was nice that was an option.

Canterbury Castle is big and so is the town. Lots to see and do. The White Cliffs and scenery around them is beautiful. Be prepared to walk. Wear good sturdy shoes. Some areas on the cliff are challenging to walk but not necessary to walk all the way to enjoy. Did not make it to Dover Castle due to an unforseen accident.
Tina_V, Jul 2026
Excellent tour- just be prepared to walk a lot of steep hills at Dover Castle!! The WWII tunnels for Operation Dynamo are a must see. The tour was so well done! Richard was a good guide. Canterbury Cathedral was amazing!

I did know that I would be slower than everyone else because I need a cane while I walk. Jerzy was very helpful by lowering the bus height when I got onto the bus, and Andy kept us informed of the area we were going as well as the area we traveled through. I rated it a 4 because, for me, it was difficult walking h the he path at the white cliffs — but I knew it would be.

Great way to get from London to see cliffs of Dover, Dover Castle, and Canterbury Cathedral. We were able to fit everything in at the Dover Castle, but we rushed and walked quickly. We did the longer World War II tunnel tour by getting in line immediately when upon arrival. We were the last ones accepted to that small group tour of 30.So some people had to wait and then that would’ve been all they would’ve been able to do.
The different tunnel exit from the castle that is medieval is very interesting also. Because we did as much as we did, I was not able to read all of the signs that were in that tunnel. But it was very interesting. Cool seeing the castle in general. Lots of things to check out. And the Rapper’s on the outsider interesting also as well as the great views from up top. Though it was a bit hazy while we were there we were able to see France.
Cliffs of Dover also beautiful. Again, we had a nice enough clear enough visibility that we were able to see France. Would have liked more time at the cliffs of Dover to walk further hike further. Some of the people in our group had mobility issues and there is no way they would’ve gotten to see as much. They could only go to the viewpoint and that was a struggle. We continued along some of the trail, but would have liked more time. I literally was running to get back to the bus. Our guy told us that they have left people there before who tried to hike down to the beach. So just note that.
Canterbury Cathedral was nice. Beautiful church! They have free guides in the church, but I did not see them. That would’ve been something we should have asked our our Anderson tour guide, Kat about. She was not able to go into the church with us. I’m not sure if we had time to do a guided tour in the church with one of the church representatives. There’s a nice crypt in the church also, though you are not able to take any pictures there. Some cool Roman ruins outside on the grounds as well as free public toilets. I picked up a retold more modern version of Canterbury tales in the church gift shop that was outside the church., but on the ground. They had several variations of it, including a Kids picture book. Gift shop had lots to look at if you want to support the area and the church.
Canterbury Cathedral is UNESCO site. Saint Augustine’s Abbey is probably 10-15 minute walk from the cathedral and is also an UNESCO site. It’s approximately 15 pounds entrance fee. And then Martin’s church is further on from that. We did not have enough time we thought to be able to tour the Augustine, Abbey or to walk on to Saint Martin’s. Something else that’s in the vicinity, but the opposite direction is the Canterbury castle ruins. They are in the vicinity of where the bus drops you off, but opposite direction of the cathedral.
Cat pointed out some different restaurants and pubs of note in Canterbury to stop at if you wanted to do that while you were there. Time is definitely limited though.
The tour bus makes a toilet break on the way to Dover, but they do not make stops on the way back from Canterbury at all. Just know that and make use of a public toilet before you get on the bus to go back.
If this tour were to change any, my request would be to have longer time at each of the stops. We are fit and fast walkers, and we still were pushing it to get things in in the time allotted. For us, Dover was the highlight and definitely where we would have liked longer.
Oh, and one more thing: where the bus drops you at the Dover Castle, and at cliffs of Dover, there are steep inclines to either get up to the viewing or the castle or to get back down, depending on how you are. Again, we had someone with mobility issues on our bus that we wondered how much they were able to see because of the time it would have taken them to walk to the site.

Lots of uphill walking and stairs. Can be difficult and arduous at times. However, incredible history and architecture in both Dover and Canterbury. Our guide, Catlin, told entertaining stories on the drive. The White Cliffs of Dover took our breath away - stunning!

A good value to see iconic sites. Richard was a friendly and informative guide. The town of Canterbury is charming, Dover Castle is majestic, and we enjoyed the war tunnels multimedia presentations and artifacts.

The Cliffs of Dover are majestic and the view amazing. Dover Castle is impressive, Canterbury was lovely and the Cathedral is one of the most important religious sites of Christianity. The bus was clean and comfortable, our guide Steve from the isle of Wight and Devon was very helpful, shared interesting stories and answered my numerous questions. The tour was well organised and structured. It seems that many tour companies offer tours to Leeds castle instead of Dover, but really Dover is so much more important particularly if you're into history. It combines WW2 tunnels with Anglo-Norman architecture of the 12th century. There is actually no comparison. Do book this tour. I was waiting for a long time to visit those sites and ill never forget it. When you stand above the cliffs looking at the view, when you walk the nave of the cathedral you will understand my enthusiasm. Thank you Anderson Tours for offering this combined Dover + Canterbury tour, thanks Steve for the wonderful day.

This is a wonderful trip out of the city if you are looking to break up your trip a little bit. The meeting spot was very easy to find after getting off the tube. The bus was comfortable (air and phone chargers). Our guide, Richard, was great - very knowledgeable, very funny and friendly. Dover castle and the white cliffs were amazing. Definitely take the time to tour at least one of the WWII tunnels (20-30 minutes).
Canterbury is like walking through a storybook- the cathedral is absolutely breathtaking. There are plenty of places to rest, grab a snack, have a meal, do some shopping, use facilities along the way. Well worth the money and a lovely break from exploring London.
Cary_H, Jul 2026
Fun and easy day trip encompassing beautiful scenery and lots of history. Be sure to explore Canterbury beyond the cathedral. Highly recommended.
RajaP_K, Jul 2026
Enjoyed the trip. Went as planned and the guide Kat (Kathy) was excellent went out of the way and took us on a city tour of Canterbury

This was an excellent day! The guide and driver were fantastic. As a solo traveler, it was great to be able to see Dover and Canterbury with a group of people. My favorite part of the trip was the Cliffs. I could have stayed the entire day there.
Bret_G, Jun 2026
We had a beautiful day for our journey, our pickup spot was just across the street from the tube station which made it super convenient. Andy was our tour guide and he was excellent. The tour bus was air conditioned which certainly helped on a hot day. Dover castle was amazing especially the ww2 underground tunnels. The view of the cliffs was breathtaking. Our last stop was Canterbury and the cathedral. What a beautiful cathedral and we found an excellent restaurant for dinner (on our own ). Would definitely recommend this trip. Like I mentioned it was a hot day but that’s no one’s fault.
Alan_K, Jun 2026
Dover Castle is a beautiful property to explore. The site has hills and a lot of steps. The ancient tunnels take you to the Spur-where you get nice photos of the castle. The WW11 tunnels tour was another bonus. The white cliffs of Dover are near the castle, and a short walk to view. Canterbury is a charming town to walk around. Andy made the trip fun, and he took care of us.

We experienced some wonderful places and would do this tour again.
We did have some difficulties keeping up with our tour guide and hearing what she was saying. She began talking before the entire group arrived to her location.
bobandtheresas, Jun 2026
The walking at Do er Castle is very strenuous. Don’t go to WWII Caves if you have trouble walking up steep hills.
Stephanie_T, Jun 2026
Wonderful trip! Marge ( tour guide) and Vinnie ( driver) were knowledgeable, personable and made for a lovely day. It was very convenient to have all of the entry tickets ( Dover Castle, Canterbury Cathedral) taken care of in advance. Could have swapped out some time at Dover Castle for more time in Canterbury, though.
Beautiful, historic locations. Easy to find and get to pick up point. Overall, 10/10 would recommend!!!!
