Excellent driver and guide - Miguel, great tour around the vineyard with a walk around the vines. Lovely wines to try with savoury snacks. Enjoyable off-road ride through the undergrowth. Saw lots of the island along tiny roads and through the countryside.

Dreadful experience. Driver, Dino, was arrogant and rude. We had been advised to arrive at the meeting point and were early. Driver said 'about time' and when i commented that we were early, his response was -well I arrived early too. Vehicle a 40 year old Defender. Rear windows didn't work. Front passenger seat belt very difficult to use. Two of the group had to sit in the seats at the back of the vehicle, which was horrible and uncomfortable. Driver also made no attempt to secure seatbelts at the rear, if there were any. The car was probably sound enough, but perhaps not for long as the differential noise suggests a lack of oil and too late to add now. Dino is a technically competent driver, but not a good one. He drove with no consideration for the passengers, his aim being to show off his supposed prowess. At the first stop, when the rear passengers were unhappy, he was very aggressive, waving the keys and saying 'do you want to drive'. The skywalk is a joke - not the company's fault, but they shouldn't over sell it as they do. View average and looking down through dirty glass at some vegetation. The wine visit/tasting was below average. Overall, we would advise anyone against paying for this waste of a full afternoon.

Fascinating trip to the vineyards!

This was a great trip. I was slightly concerned about the journey in the jeep, but once Lewis (Louis?) took us off road through the vineyards it was definitely worth it! Fabulous views, great welcome at Quinta Barbusana, interesting tour of the vineyard, and plenty of wine to taste! On the way back as all four of us on this tour had already visited Cabo Girão Louis kindly arranged for us to spend some time at Camara de Lobos as an alternative. Great half day trip.

Ddisappointing

The 4x4 and off road part was great fun and Eddy was a good guide but the wine tasting was disappointing as the wines were very mediocre table wines. It was not helped by the fact that the vinery guide only spoke English when there were people from France and Germany in the group

Dear customer, Thank you for the feedback. I see from your comment that you enjoyed the off-road part and our guide, which we appreciate. However, regarding the quality of the wines and the fact that the explanation at the vineyard is only in English, this comment should be made on the Quinta do Barbusano page. Although we must understand why the explanation is only in English: firstly because it is the most universal language and also because, if it were in several languages, the explanation would take more than 2 hours. I would like to mention again that complaints regarding Quinta do Barbusano's service/products must be reported on their website. Thank you for your attention.

The tour was initially delayed due to never receiving the pick up instructions that were supposedly emailed to us but we never received. Then there was no wine tasting as this was not pre-booked with the vineyard by the tour organiser and the vineyard was closed on that day. We were disappointed with this as this was the main reason for us choosing this tour. If we had known this at the outset we would have cancelled. The driver pretended to give us options of alternative wine tastings but clearly did not like the option chosen by the group. Despite everyone unanimously choosing a wine tasting at another vineyard later in the afternoon, we were instead taken to a bar and given 3 small samples of Madeira wine. The tour was chaotic. The organisation of it was extremely poor. We would definitely not recommend it.

The jeeps were ancient...

The jeeps were ancient and probably wouldn't have passed MOT's in the UK. Driver of our Jeep was miserable The wine tasting was very amateur and the wines of a very poor standard. Only enjoyable part was the skywalk
