Susan is a wonderful driver and tour guide. She went out of her way to make every aspect of our tour personalized to us. The tour of Quinta do Barbusano Winery was absolutely a must do with a very educational tour of the vineyard, wine tasting, and delicious traditional espetada lunch. We even went to the kitchen to watch our meal preparation and took a photo with the owner and chef, Antonio.

This was our favorite day tour that we took in Madeira. ( The other tours we took were to the East, West, and Nun Valley.) it wasn’t our favorite tour just based on being able to have lots of wine. Susanna, our tour guide, was very knowledgeable. She explained the history of the island, the history of the different produce grown on the island, and the history of wine on the island. Each stop was beautiful. Taking a cable car down to see a farm right on the water was fun. We got to walk to the water and the beach so we could experience first half of the stones. The winery was beautiful and educational. The wine was delicious, as was the lunch. At the last stop, we tried some of the classical Madeira Wine, before getting to try some of the 10 and 15 year Madeira Wine. The day flew by.

We booked a private tour with Susana and had the most amazing day! We went to a gorgeous winery and enjoyed their wine and the most delicious traditional meal we had our whole trip! Susana asked about our trip and then customized our tour to ensure we saw the island as we wanted. She didnt make us feel rushed in any location and explained a lot of the history and culture of the island. Definitely recommend a tour with her and her company!

While our tour on 9/5 itself (wineries, lunch) were spectacular, the driver/tour guide was not. I don’t know his name because I don’t even think he introduced himself, but he spoke very broken and mumbled English to the point no one on the tour could understand him. He also didn’t give the kind of history and background we expected, it would be like “and look out the window, there are vines” and that’s it. There was also not clear communication at our first stop with the cable car, he just said come back in an hour. We didn’t know if we were meeting someone at the bottom or what to do so we just roamed around and kept track of time, it was odd. Lunch & tour/views at Quinta do Barbusano were incredible!

Amazing full day experience which covered a fabulous Vineyard in the mountains, superb lunch and finished off with a trip to a Madeiran Distilled Wine Distillery. Our host Suzanna was absolutely brilliant, covering many stories about the Islands history and culture. The trip also incorporated Faja dos Padres Cable Car (not for the faint hearted) which took us to another vineyard, which also includes a Banana tree plantation. Cannot recommend this excursion highly enough enough and don’t forget to ask for Suzanna!

We had a small group - just 4 of us. Guide Susanna was very friendly and enthusiastic. Trip was very good - particularly the lunch and wine tasting at the beautiful vineyard. Cable car trip at Faja dos Padres was fun, although only limited link to the wine theme. Good balance between information and tasting!

An enjoyable experience for those who enjoy tasting and drinking wine and learning about its production. We traveled in comfort to a variety of places where we had time to appreciate different aspects of the island. Our driver, Manuel was very friendly and informative, pointing out various things to us as we travelled, and always allowing us plenty of time so we never felt hassled or rushed.
The vineyard visit was well organised and set in a beautiful location which we would certainly not have found ourselves. Luciano, our guide, was extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic to share his knowledge about all aspects of the vineyard and the wines. We tasted 6 wines with generous measures and could enjoy more of all of them as we wished with our meal. Staff were all friendly and attentive, a super visit.
On our way back we rounded off with a visit to Henriques & Henriques for a tasting of Madeiran fortified wines, a perfect finale to the day.

Our guide and driver for the day was Susana and she was fantastic - very friendly, chatty and informative (and excellent English). She took us to lots of interesting places in the morning and told us all about wine making in Madeira. She then took us to Barbusano vineyard for wine tasting and lunch - we got to sample 6 wines and then have as much as we wanted with the food (which was delicious). Susana then took us to Henriques & Henriques for Madeira tasting (5 glasses) before dropping us back for a well-needed snooze! I would definitely recommend this trip.

A truly amazing tour of Madeira, with a gondola, viewpoints and vineyards, made extra fun by the guide Susanna! Susanna is knowledgeable, outgoing, a good storyteller and very friendly. The guide on the vineyard is excellent and we learned quite a bit about Madeiran wines. The lunch was also authentic and traditional. Highly recommended, 5 stars for Susanna ⭐️

My parents, brother, and me were traveling together in Madeira and were looking for a winery day trip. This experience far exceeded expectations. We were picked up by our guide, Susana, in a private, air conditioned van right on time from our apartment rental. Susana shared so much knowledge with us and you could tell that she really cared about her job. She brought us to multiple spots for beautiful views of the island and when there was a slight delay getting the cable car to Faja dos Padres, she called the winery to move our reservation back 30 minutes so we wouldn't be rushed. We then had an incredible experience at Quinta do Barbusano where we had a tour of the facilities by Gina then an outstanding lunch and wine tasting. The owner Antonio, Gina, and the rest of the staff were so passionate about their work and they made sure that we enjoyed our stay. The food and wine portions were huge and the views were spectacular. Overall, this tour was a highlight of our trip and a great value for the money. Susana truly went above and beyond to ensure we had a great day. Don't hesitate -- book this tour while in Madeira!

We had a great day out on this small group wine tour of Madeira. Our driver and tour guide, Susana, was very knowledgeable and full of amusing anecdotes and funny stories. We stopped at some stunning places with some of the most incredible views we had seen across our entire time on Madeira. We thoroughly enjoyed the local table wine during our vineyard visit, as well as the delicious meal which was cooked by António, the winery owner himself. The meal was very generous with offers of second and thirds servings and wine re-fills! We finished with a Madeira tasting at the well-known Henriques & Henriques cellar. This was one of the highlights of our trip to Portugal. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Madeira.
