We had an amazing experience with our tour guide Lucia! She was so knowledgeable and passionate about Florence, the Academia, and everything she shared with us about the works of art. She knew exactly what time would be best to see the statue of David and went out her way to make sure that we received the best experience. The meeting point was easy to find, the Tour Guy personnel explained everything perfectly and speak several languages so they’re able to communicate with anyone. Skip the line is a must. We visited the Academia in December (off peak season), but there was still a line to get in so having skip the line was worth the money. I highly recommend the evening tour because people start to leave and you almost have David all to yourself. I also highly recommend The Tour Guy. We also booked them for another tour in Venice, and that tour guide was just as great!

I can confirm the 5 star reviews are true and was happy I chose the evening tour from the many guided tour options. As if seeing Michelangelo's David in front of you with my own eyes wasn't enough, our guide Marco did an outstanding job bringing both Michelangelo and David to life! It was informative, engaging, and even inspiring to listen to Marco. Seeing and hearing about Giambologna's plaster model of the Rape of the Sabines was a bonus with Marco's narrating. We have a 5pm tour on a Friday which was perfect because we had enough time for the tour and then most people left so we had time for some great pictures when it was getting close to closing.
Our guide was really knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the entire museum and told us great places to stand to get great perspectives of different art sections.

Group was about 18, but didn't matter as the radio receivers used were great. Could hear everything. Guide was great. Received a history of Michelangelo and his time in Florence. The David statue is absolutely divine. Had plenty of time and had the place to ourselves toward the end of the tour.

Lucia was the perfect guide - tons of knowledge, personality and kindness! The tour was wonderful as well; we would’ve felt lost trying to navigate through the Academia, but the timing of the visit works really well because the crowds start to lessen as the tour goes on. We got great views of David and were absolutely inundated with awesome information about Michelangelo, the Middle Ages and the Renaissance.

Everything from the meeting place to the tour to the information provided was an easy and great experience. Got some interesting and amazing info on artists and their backgrounds. Of course seeing The David was the highlight. We got up close and could view the sculpture from every angle. We chose this shorter experience for our kids, who also both really liked this experience.

Francesca was amazing! She was knowledgeable, friendly, engaging, and so nice. Going at this time was also really nice because it was less crowded than during the day. Francesca was informative and made the experience wonderful. I had done a tour of the Uffizi earlier in the day, and it was so bad, I left early. I was nervous that this tour would be equally disappointing, but it lived up to my expectations and was one of the highlights of my trip to Florence. I have filed for a refund since I was not able to find the meeting location. The meeting location was not identified therefore I missed the tour. I want my money back

It appears you were affected by a known bug in Viator’s app, which has occasionally shown the end point of the tour instead of the meeting location. This issue has caused understandable frustration for some travelers, and I sincerely apologize that it impacted your experience.
While I will write to Viator in your defense to support your refund request, I must mention that approval is not guaranteed, as the booking was made through their platform.
Additionally, I noticed the phone number provided to Viator was not active, which made it difficult for our ground staff to assist you at the time—they did attempt to reach you via text before the tour began.
