This was a bit of a disaster of a tour. The guide was at meeting place but did not have our tickets or anything—shared that the operator was not showing up. We ended up having to wait for the guide to go stand in line to get our tickets in the heat of the day. Our tour ended up being cut short because of this. Left with little information or support while viewing the David. The headsets she provided were not clear and muffled. I would never book through this Organization again.

Peak summer season in Florence can bring unexpected ticketing system delays at state museums, but our local team and guides always strive to manage these challenges seamlessly without cutting your time inside short. We want our experiences to be highly educational and stress-free, so hearing that the commentary felt lacking and the headsets were muffled is definitely not the standard we aim for. I have brought these specific details regarding the ticket handoff and equipment directly to our Florence Operations Manager to ensure our on-the-ground coordination remains sharp. We hope we are able to resolve this for you and give you a better experience next time.

Disappointing. The description made it seem it would be less crowded as it was an “evening” tour. It was absolutely packed in the gallery. The guide didn’t introduce himself as having any particular knowledge of art history and spent much of the tour talking about things we could have learned from the audio guide at the museum. We didn’t cover any other artworks in the museum other than David and a short mention of the other Michelangelo statues. The guide’s English was hard to understand and this was compounded by the fact that the company used over the ear radios (every other tour has used in ear buds) making it nearly impossible to hear in the cacophony of the gallery. Not worth the money.

We were in Florence for a short time and could not get a ticket to suit our schedule. This tour at 5:00 pm was perfect. Guide was very informative and gave us plenty of time to view major works and David. I recommend this one hour tour.

If your time is short this is an ideal way to get in and see the David in the afternoon when the museum starts to empty. You don’t have a lot of time to explore beyond the David itself, and the museum is worth the time if you can spare it. If the David is all you have time for, or you want to do a second trip this event is a perfect way to skip the line with a guided experience for some more detail, and a chance to see the David without the press of so many people.

What an amazing experience we had with our guide. His passion was infectious and we fell in love with David. This was our favourite tour as we came away with so much knowledge that we would not have had without our guide. I would recommend this tour to everyone visiting.

We had an amazing experience with our tour guide Lucia! She was so knowledgeable and passionate about Florence, the Academia, and everything she shared with us about the works of art. She knew exactly what time would be best to see the statue of David and went out her way to make sure that we received the best experience. The meeting point was easy to find, the Tour Guy personnel explained everything perfectly and speak several languages so they’re able to communicate with anyone. Skip the line is a must. We visited the Academia in December (off peak season), but there was still a line to get in so having skip the line was worth the money. I highly recommend the evening tour because people start to leave and you almost have David all to yourself. I also highly recommend The Tour Guy. We also booked them for another tour in Venice, and that tour guide was just as great!

I can confirm the 5 star reviews are true and was happy I chose the evening tour from the many guided tour options. As if seeing Michelangelo's David in front of you with my own eyes wasn't enough, our guide Marco did an outstanding job bringing both Michelangelo and David to life! It was informative, engaging, and even inspiring to listen to Marco. Seeing and hearing about Giambologna's plaster model of the Rape of the Sabines was a bonus with Marco's narrating. Thank you Marco for an unforgettable evening!

We have a 5pm tour on a Friday which was perfect because we had enough time for the tour and then most people left so we had time for some great pictures when it was getting close to closing.
Our guide was really knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the entire museum and told us great places to stand to get great perspectives of different art sections.

Group was about 18, but didn't matter as the radio receivers used were great. Could hear everything. Guide was great. Received a history of Michelangelo and his time in Florence. The David statue is absolutely divine. Had plenty of time and had the place to ourselves toward the end of the tour.

Lucia was the perfect guide - tons of knowledge, personality and kindness! The tour was wonderful as well; we would’ve felt lost trying to navigate through the Academia, but the timing of the visit works really well because the crowds start to lessen as the tour goes on. We got great views of David and were absolutely inundated with awesome information about Michelangelo, the Middle Ages and the Renaissance.

It was the best art tour I have been on. Our guide was fun, knowledgeable and patient. she shared so many interesting facts about Michelangelo and other painters. Summarizing them in a way that even my 12-year-old was engaged and excited. It was so worth every moment.
