Meet your guide in central Florence to begin your sunset wine tour and set out to explore the city at dusk. Admire the views from the iconic Ponte Vecchio and pose for photos by the riverside, then wind through the parks and piazzas of elegant Oltrarno. Follow your guide to landmarks like Santo Spirito church and Piazzale Michelangelo, and get a feel for Florentine life as you duck down the buzzing alleys and peek into lively cafés.
Continue to the hip San Frediano district, where the streets are lined with artisan shops, traditional taverns and wine bars, as your guide fills you in on the city’s social traditions. Then, make your first stop, for a typical ‘aperitivo’ at a local wine cellar, and sip a glass of wine as you watch the sunset over the city. As you sample Tuscan wines from the famous Chianti region, sate your appetite with a platter of delicious ‘crostini’, another Tuscan specialty.
Cross over the river to Florence’s historic center, where the streetlamps will be flickering into action and star attractions like the Duomo cathedral will be dramatically floodlit. After learning more about the Renaissance city, make a second stop and toast to a fun-filled evening with another glass of wine.

I loved this tour right in the heart of Florence at a local wine shop with delicious wines and charcuterie. Giacomo was the guide and he was fantastic sharing great knowledge of wines and the local sites on our way. I highly recommend this tour!!

Our guide was knowledgeable and had great stories and background throughout the tour. The wine tasting broke up the walking portion of the tour.

The guide was nice and knowledgeable, but this wasn’t a wine tour. The entire group all had the same expectation that we would have wine all along the tour and we had wine at one place at the end of the tour.

Very deceiving tour. Showed pictures of gong to a wine window. Didn’t actually get wine out of the window. Also the first hour was walking. This said wine and food tour and we only went to one spot. Also finding the guide was really hard and was told to go 15 mins early and she showed up 5 mins before. Not worth the prices and very disappointing we didn’t go to multiple places.

Very good experience. We felt very well treated by the guide, she was welcoming and with very good energy. Had suficient knowledge of the wines we tested and answered the questions we had about the subject. Also in the walking tour she stopped at 3 or 4 places worth viewing and listened to interestong things about these. Only one thing did not go as advertised, we did not get to see the sunset because she informed the reservations for wine tasting had been moved ahead because of a soccer game that was going on at 8.30 pm and the bar would not be open after that. So this really did not matter because the tour develop really smoothly.

Giacomo was an incredible tour guide! He was very knowledgeable of history, funny, and “ironic.”
If you’re on the fence about this tour, do it!

Our tour guide was very knowledgeable, lovely walking tour, we also brought wine home, loved the wine window.

Maria was charming and historically very knowledgeable, we had a marvelous time tasting 4 different wines in a small out of the way wine shop after touring the city.

A five star experience with a knowledgeable & enthusiastic guide. A great way to get to know Florence on our 1st day. Also interesting to hear a little about Italian life. Unfortunately just a shame no sun so no sunset that day
Anyamacias, Nov 2021
The fog rolled in to Florence the afternoon of the tour so there was no sunset to watch. The most and God off the Arno was so thick you could not even see the water. Beautiful! The tour guide was friendly and the one stop for wine and appetizers was nice. I wish she had talked more during our walk about the different shops and restaurants we passed but it was good anyway.

Everything was smooth, from communications about the dates, flexibility when my flight was delayed and then the experience itself. I learned a lot and enjoyed the wine (and even purchased some to take home).

1) guide was walking way too fast to keep the group together. She didn’t even look back to make sure everyone was together. We had to tell her she needed to keep us together. She gave a roll of the eyes. 2) We expected to go to a bar or restaurant for the tasting, but it was just an abandoned workshop. 3) Would have liked to have had a little more creative bruschetta than provides. 4) guide was knowledgeable. A lot of walking, but very little discussion regarding the town, walk, etc while walking, at least not with the whole group. 5) Wines were good and portions were generous.

Such a cute tour. Our guide was great. She was a local and was very knowledgeable about the area and showed us really cool sights in Florence. The food we snacked on excellent and the wine was also very very good. I would highly recommend this tour.

We really enjoyed our nighttime walk around Florence with Giorno. We had lots of fun, saw lots of sites, and enjoyed trying a few new wines.

Fun walking tour across the Ponte de Vecchio. Guide was informative. Wine and snacks were tasty! Lots of walking. Recommend!

Tour 4 but food & wine -3. Interesting to learn about the Medici family & history of Florence while walking across the Ponte tour Vecchio to a sit down & tasting of 3 wines & some bruschetta. Group gets to know each other a bit so you feel not so alone in a new city. Back Over the bridge to another singl wine tasting and ending near the Duomo. 10 people. Informative regarding history & wine tasting in general. Fairly low end wines and 2 kinds of bruschetta. Do not expect this to replace your dinner.

We really enjoyed this tour. Our guide, Sara, was a local winemaker from many generations back and this personal connection made the tour that much more memorable. Loved Sara's dry humor, it added to the outrageous historical stories of the families who inhabited and built Florence. We learned about Chianti wines and the varietal differences that we've already used back home when ordering in restaurants! This is a very low key walking tour but it's perfect for that reason. Small group was key, and also a very gracious and interesting host!

Totally recommend for your first night in town!
Learned of some local hidden gems, history of Italian wine along with some history lessons along the way. What more do you need? The length of the event was perfect and recommend to anyone visiting Florence!
Sara_U, Jul 2018
Our guide was great at pointing out restaurants that she enjoys along the way, so we were able to build a list of places to try. Most of the tour was of the Oltrarno area, which was great. I wish we could find more tours of this area. Throughout the tour, we were able to try several different red and white wines. There was also food included with each of the stops, so we were able to try several local delicacies with the wine. I definitely felt a little tipsy by the end of the tour, so if you aren't a heavy drinker, you'll want to make sure that you have something on your stomach. I absolutely recommend this tour for trying local wines and learning more about Chianti and the wine-making process. I would also encourage you to ask for restaurant recommendations from your guide. We tried several places that our guide recommended and all of them were tasty and cheap!.

Lots of fun. Easy to find the meeting point and a great way to find out some interesting facts around parts of the city you may not visit. It was also nice to meet with other travellers from all over the world and enjoy a few drinks. It was great fun. Harry and Kerry Williams

This tour was a good way to see and learn about different parts of the city. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly! The wine was good, although we did not get to try food at the first place as it was too busy due to a Liberation Day celebration. The second place we stopped was awesome. The food and wine were great there! Overall, a really good experience that we recommend for a fun evening out!

Would have liked a more in depth tour but it hit the highlights

Good walking tour, and several good wines and snacks.
Jelissa_B, Oct 2017
This Tour was fantastic, we learned about Florence and had some amazing wine. We stopped at two restaurant where we tried wine and has some amazing snacks. After the wine tour our group continued to walk around and went wine tasting on our own. I would recommend this tour. The tour consisted of walking around the town and the guide informed us about hidden gems and stories around town.

Great introduction to the city with wine along the way! We did this tour on our first night in Florence and it was a great way to start off our stay. We got to enjoy several glasses of wine and not only find out about the main landmarks in the city but also information about the wine we were trying. We met some great people on our tour and had a fun night. Highly recommend!
Dottie_J, Sep 2017
This was more of a wine tour than a history tour, but it was fun. We had a super small group so it was intimate. The tour guide was nice, but she couldn't control the conversation from the guests so the night got away from her. We went across the river to learn more about Florence, and I'm glad we did. If we had one more day after we would have had lots of restaurants to try that would be much better than the tourist traps all in central Florence. Do this one early!
JenniferM_B, Sep 2017
Great tour of the city! Thank you Diana for all of the knowledge about the area and the wine!
Vanda O, Aug 2017
The wine tasting was a great way to see the different areas of Florence. The added value is that our guide provided history lesson every where we went.
The only suggestion is have a bit earlier so that one can leisurely enjoy both the wine tasting and history along the way.
Many thanks, V.
