Alaa was very friendly and personable. The tour went a bit long, but loved the stops and sunset. The view from the restaurant was lovely and I liked the fact that the other two wineries were small. Mauricio and his dog, Spritz, were our favorite!

What To Expect

This tour combines one of the most beautiful regions in Italy with the loveliest time of day for a memorable wine-tasting experience. Meet your professional driver and guide in front of the National Library( piazza Cavalleggieri, 1) and set off in an air-conditioned minivan along the Via Chiantigiana scenic route. Enjoy the views as you travel through a landscape of cypress trees, vineyards and charming villages tucked into the rolling hills.

Your first stop is the well-preserved medieval village of Greve-in-Chianti, where you’ll have a chance to stretch your legs with a stroll around the historic town square and browse local shops. Continue on with a photo stop at lovely Montefioralle before arriving at your main destination, a family-run vineyard known for its excellent wines. Learn about traditional production methods on a cellar tour, and taste four different wines.

The tasting is scheduled to coincide with the golden hour before sunset, so you can enjoy world-class wines, along with a snack of bruschetta and cheese, while watching the honey-hued light settle over the vineyards. On the return drive to Florence, stop in the picturesque village of Badia a Passignano for more photos and a bit of local history. The 5-hour tour concludes with drop-off at the National Library in central Florence.

Our tour of the Chianti region was truly the highlight of our trip to Italy, and much of that is thanks to our incredible guide, Alberto. From start to finish, this experience was thoughtful, immersive, and unforgettable. Alberto's passion for the region was obvious from the beginning. He shared the rich history and fascinating backstories of Chianti with enthusiasm and insight, adding so much depth to the breathtaking landscapes we were passing through. It was like exploring Tuscany with a friend who truly loves and understands every corner of it. We visited two wineries, each offering a unique and memorable experience. The first was more upscale, with beautiful surroundings and refined tastings. The second, Maurizio Brogioni Winery, was the standout. Maurizio himself welcomed us like old friends. He was warm, funny, down-to-earth, and incredibly passionate about his craft. He explained each wine in detail, told us exactly what to pair it with, and made time to connect with us personally. He even took photos with us and made us feel like a part of his world. It was a rare and special experience. After the tastings, we enjoyed a meal at a quaint local restaurant where the food and wine were absolutely outstanding, authentic, flavorful, and perfectly Tuscan. It felt like something out of a movie. On the drive back, Alberto continued to impress. He stopped at scenic overlooks for photo opportunities we would’ve otherwise missed. To top things off, the next morning, after I realized I had left my phone in the van, Alberto went above and beyond delivering it to our hotel early so I wouldn’t miss my train. That kind of care and commitment is rare, and I’m incredibly thankful. This tour was more than just sightseeing, it was a personal, authentic experience that captured the heart of Tuscany. I can’t recommend it enough.

Lovely drive up to 2 vineyards. Alberto was a well informed guide providing valuable information every step along the way, accommodating an unexpected pitstop to use restroom on the way back. Be prepared to spend a lot of money ordering bottles of wine! They were exceptional.

Not the experience we were looking for

We started off getting on the van and traveling to a viewing spot just outside of Florence and took great pictures of the city. We then went out into Tuscany. The tour guide Alberto was talking from the front of the van about the history of the region. We could barely hear Alberto over the sounds of the van/road/etc. and most of what he was talking about was wars, history of region etc. where we were hoping for a more wine centric tour. He was just rambling on about the forming of the region which was interesting (for what we could actually hear and understand) and my mom and another in the van actually fell asleep. The first winery stop was interesting and the restaurant manager gave a very abbreviated tour and we sat down to sample 3 wines. It was a small owned winery that did not produce a lot but focused on high quality and we appreciated this. The second winery just felt like a tourist trap. We sat down and sampled 7 or 8 different wines with a small spread of cheese and meat. I’ve done two tours previously where either the guide or the winery employee was a Somalie but not on this tour. So we didn’t get the wine lesson in tasting, identifying flavors and just that deep dive into wine. When it came to buying wine they started “wheeling and dealing” with us to buy more and it just felt like it was a tourist trap. No other winery I’ve ever been to included taxes and shipping into cost of the wine and tried making deals with you to buy more, like get two more bottles and we’ll give you two more for free. My sister tried buying olive oil but they misunderstood and did a “deal with her” to buy more but they sold her wine and not olive oil and then couldn’t refund the order after she realized the mistake. There was also nothing with sunsets either other than the time of day. Was hoping to sip wine and watch a sunset but none of that. Tour guide 0/10, small winery 7/10, second winery poggio ai Laghi 3/10 stars. The tour also ran an hour and a half past time. We left at 2 and didn’t get back to the city until 8:30.

During the journey, he chose to enrich the transfer with stories and anecdotes about the history and formation of the region being visited, offering a general cultural context. As clearly stated in the tour description, the experience includes two winery stops with tastings at two different estates, each with its own philosophy and approach. The wineries visited are long-standing partners of ours and are carefully selected for both the quality of their products and the courtesy and professionalism with which they welcome our guests. For this reason, the suggestion that guests were pressured into making purchases comes as entirely new and unexpected to us, as it does not reflect their long-standing track record or the consistently positive feedback we have received over the years. We would also like to emphasize that purchasing wine or olive oil on site is always a completely optional and personal choice. Given the level of purchases made by your group, it is clear that there was a genuine interest in taking home more than one memento of the experience and the places visited. For this reason, the level of dissatisfaction expressed is somewhat difficult for us to interpret, particularly as other members of your group have shared very positive reviews on other platforms. Finally, we would like to note that the tour program, timing, and overall structure are clearly outlined on the product page, and that the season must also be taken into account. As this visit took place in December, despite the beautiful days that can occur at this time of year, certain elements, such as enjoying a sunset, cannot always be guaranteed. In closing, we would be delighted to welcome you again in the future and offer an experience more closely aligned with your expectations. Underwhelming Sunset Chianti Wine Tour at Sunset

Very disappointed. We paid $154 for 2 winery tours that included appetizers. One winery gave us taralli which is a snack cracker and the other gave us breadsticks that were thinner than a straw. The first winery gave a quick tour and the 2nd did nothing. They barely spoke to us. It was very expensive 4 hour tour where in total we had about one full glass of wine and some dry breadsticks. I have been on European wine tours in the past that included full meals, more wine and even a boat ride for less. The views were lovely and our driver Michele was very nice. I would not recommend this tour.

Not worth the money

For £100 per person I was expecting a lot more from the experience. The ‘snacks’ were tiny and the wine pours were the same and the car is not big enough for 8 people. Thankfully our trip only had 6 people. I think you could have the same experience at a much cheaper price.

The vineyards had amazing wine and the settings were beautiful! I would highly recommend this sunset wine tour . We learned so much and had fantastic wines. Wonderful tour guide. Beautiful country and wineries. Pretty good wine, but the videos and people were the best part. Also some great olive oil products at the first winery. Nice restaurant and good food. There were better items on the menu, but the dinner meal was set and not a choice.

Alfonso, our driver, was amazing; so courteous and informative. He narrated as we travelled to the vineyards describing the history, trees and architecture of each area. We stopped along the way at a few spots to take pictures. The two vineyards we visited were equally wonderful. Arianna and Viola our tour guides at each respective location were fantastic. The wine tasting, the hospitality, and the atmosphere was just beautiful. Dinner at the restaurant was the perfect conclusion to our day: delicious food, great service and the restaurant itself was so lovely. The weather was not great, so we didn’t get to see a proper sunset, but this did not detract from how enjoyable the experience was from start to finish. Highly recommend this tour!

This was a very fun tour. Our guide Giacomo was great! His enthusiasm for the wine, food, and culture showed through in his excellent descriptions of where we were and where we were going, who we were meeting and what we were eating and drinking. He was also an excellent driver. I felt very safe with him. Enjoyable and Informative

The trip through the countryside was lovely. The wine tasting informative and enjoyable. Our driver was excellent. The dinner left a little to be desired. There was no choice and not everyone eats meat especially if it is cold. We enjoyed the trip, especially the second wine tasting.

Chianti wine tasting tour

Really great Chianti wine tasting tour! Our driver/guide was fantastic. He was very professional, friendly and knowledgeable about the area and the wines. The two wineries we visited were smaller boutique wineries, not the standard tourist spots, which was amazing. All of the wines we tasted were very good and the wineries were beautiful. The dinner was also really nice, it lasted a bit longer than necessary and we didn’t get back into Florence until quite late (11:30pm) but overall the tour was well worth it. A great experience!

Great experience! Driver was super nice and informative of the region. The 2 wineries were gorgeous, friendly staff, and great wine (and olive oil!). Dinner was at a lovely restaurant with a fabulous view (before the sunset) with great food.

Tuscany with great views with a 15 yo teen

Our guide Aladin was fantastic! He let us play our favorite music on the way there and back. This was a mother/daughter trip with my 15 year old daughter so she loved playing her our music. The views were amazing! The two wineries were great. No issues with having a teen daughter. Both wineries had very small snacks but we reached our dinner right at sunset. So beautiful. The dinner was nice. All in all a great day!

This was such a wonderful way to spend an evening. Our guide Jacob was so great-a pleasant drive out and explained everything as we went along. We went to two winery’s. Then a restaurant at the end, with a pre-planned dinner and wine. We are a family of 5 and our youngest, 9, enjoyed the trip as well.
