Transportation getting there was challenging but not the guides fault. A lot of walking so be prepared. Boat ride was very nice. This was a very long day from 6:30am until 9:30pm.

The ferry to Portovenere was the best part of the trip. If I did this again I take the ferry from La Spezia to Portovenere then to Monterosso al Mare and back to La Spezia. The train ride was very long & the other towns were nice, but Portovenere was awesome!

It is a long day as pre warned. Very picturesque. Beautiful. If mobility issues not for you. Walking hills, stairs and lots of people, very croudy. Lots of time spent on train. Boat rides can be rough on the water.

After a not so good start, the tour guide was 20 minutes late. We had no clue as to wether the tour had been cancelled. I contacted the tour operator through the booking link. I received no response. Then I contacted Viator who were most helpful. By that time the tour guide approached us casually as if nothing happened. Not even an apology. Anyway the went very smoothly there on. He (the guide) was very knowledgeable and helpful. It wasn't as faced paced and gruelling on the feet as I was anticipating. We had a great day. Recommended.

Terrible way to ruin a trip we've wanted to take for years. The tour guide was wrong about which train to take and we lost hours getting there and back, we skipped several lands. How can it be possible that you make a mistake in something you always do?

The most memorable parts of my experience were being able to visit multiple towns that were fabulous. Our tour guide, Marco, was there in each place to answer multiple questions. Having his computer tablet available to share knowledge of areas that we passed on the train was enlighting. Each town had it's own vibe. Especially liked the medieval buildings in each location. Ferry ride back to train station was like the whipped cream of the trip! Wonderful seeing Cinque Terre from the sea! There will be much time spent on train--2+ hours each way from Florence and 20.000 walking steps! Be ready to be a tourist!

This was not a guided tour at all. The tour guide basically guided us to each village by train will give us about 1.5 hours to “explore” and that’s it. Not a single story about the village or what activities or iconic place to look for. When we bought the ticket, our tour included lunch. Well, the lunch was cancelled without prior notification and 20 euros per person refunded from $135 per person paid ticket. To finalize our trip, we were supposed to take an express train back to Florence and the train got “cancelled” which it didn’t because we asked the train operator and she confirmed that it didn’t. we were put in a train with 20 stops which took 2.5 hours back to Florence. They sure did made money out of us in this tour.

Cinque Terre was beautiful. The tour guide Luca was very disappointing. He only dropped us off at each town and didn’t even bother to say anything about the history of each town. He didn’t recommend any places to eat, he kept changing the way we were getting from

The tour guide was very conscientious in making sure we got the most out of the trip since there were delays caused by work on the train lines. He tried to make sure that everyone was comfortable and enjoying the experience. We only got to visit two of the five towns but that meant we had more time in each town so could relax and see a little more of each. It is a long day with an amount of walking. I decided to make it somewhat easier on myself (I was near the end of my vacation and growing tired) and take a cab from the last ferry to the train and the guide was very accommodating in making that happen.

Overall, I am glad we visited. If we had more time to spend in each of the villages, we may have enjoyed it more. It was a fast paced-stop-and-visit, so while beautiful sceneries, it was a bit exhausting. Each of the Villages had a unique but similar feeling and the residents were most welcoming. I felt we saw some of the real Italians during this visit!

Cinque Terre is absolutely stunning. The perfect little idyllic getaway. Unfortunately it is a victim of way too much tourism. There was no way to enjoy the locale. People packed like sardines everywhere. Trains were overcrowded. Travelers yelling at each other. Poor restaurant service. The locals are doing the best they can but the charm of this place has been worn away. Luca, our guide, was great and worked very hard to navigate is through it all. In the end though, we were ready to go home hours before the bus actually came to take us back.

We had a fantastic day trip in beautiful Cinque Terre. For me, there was plenty of time to enjoy each village that we saw, and climb up the trails for the best views. Free water is available in all of the towns as well if you look carefully. The food in the old part of Monterosso was particularly delicious.
Be aware that it is easy to get separated from the group in the summer crowds, especially at La Spezia station. A minor thing that could help improve this tour would be some more direct instructions to help orient participants, such as exactly where to meet at the bus station, and the platform numbers and stop names if taking the train when the sea is too rough for the ferry.

Lucas, our guide.
Lucas was awesome, a great asset for this company. He was able to provide the information in Italian, English, and Spanish. Nice personality and great values. He was reluctant to even receive tips from the participants in the tour who acknowledge his expertise, knowledge, and dedication. He said he love that he does and thinks he shouldn't be rewarded for that. First time that happens to me.
We had a great day, visited beautiful places, the only bad thing was that because of rough seas we were not able to do the boat part.

As a moderate amount of walking to visit Cinque Terre is involved, we wrote a note in the additional info section to inform travellers. We always try to be as much clear as possible so that you know what the experience is about.
Concerning the short time in each stop, unfortunately, due to the great number of visitors and the itinerary which includes different villages of Cinque Terre, longer time could not be guaranteed. We work hard to offer the best of our tour within the time we have and the itinerary we had built, but we also do care about the general length of the experience and the need to rest after such a tour.

Great tour. Guide walked a bit fast for some though and water for the 2+ hour ride would have been appreciated. Recommend getting the lunch included. Very good value for the money. Highly recommend.

Pros:
Lovely guide, nice bus driver

The pick up location for this tour is outside center of the city. You will need to catch a tram and ride 20min to Villa Constanza Bus station. As it was a 7am departure, some chose to get a taxi from centre which was about 25 Euros.
Bus ride is about an hour to La Spezia train station. Guide provided some interesting facts about areas we were driving past (mostly while driving on freeway).
We then boarded a train and visited each village ( skipping one as the village was too far to get on foot to). Guide would leave us for about an hour to explore villages, no historical details were provided about the areas we visited.
The longest stay of 3 hours was at Monterosso village (last one). Those that had prebooked lunch were escorted to the restaurant. The rest were asked to find their own lunch. No option was given to join the group and pay for lunch on the spot. Some of us in the group (depending on which platform the tour was booked on) didnt even realize lunch was optional and not included in ticket price.
The boat ride from last village back to La Spezia was cancelled. No alternative or a refund was offered. We had to catch a train back. This was meant to be a highlight of the trip and reason why I paid this money for the tour. It was very disappointing.
Overall, I didnt feel that the tour was worth it. The cost of the tour will essentially just pay for your bus ride from bus stop to train station and back. Unless you are very bad at directions, you can catch a train to Cinque Terre yourself and get the same experience for must smaller price.

We loved the historic, colorful, villages of Cinque Terra. While it was crowded it’s understandable-everyone wants to experience this beautiful place. Our weather was fantastic, sunny but not hot. We went the third week of September. The views were magnificent. Our guide gave us ample time at each village but we did not visit the third village in the group because it was so far from the train station (about 3 km). Our guide Luca D’onofrio was informative, patient and interesting to talk to - he does have long legs though so we had to “hoof it” to keep up. Our trip information said it was a ferry tour and did not include going to the villages and we would depart for the trip at 7 am and return at 1 pm. The way it turned out, we ended up on a tour for 13 hours which included taking the trains to the villages and ended up with a return trip via the ferry. We asked our tour guide what happened and he did not give us an answer. We had others who thought they were on a different tour than expected as well. The general consensus was that the company combined tours because they didn’t have enough people for the specific ones we selected. No one was upset about it, although it could have been a problem if we “needed” to be back by 1:00 vs the 8:30 pm we got back. Would we recommend this tour - absolutely, but understand it’s a very long day with a lot of climbing stairs in villages and the train stations. The train stations are a madhouse with crowds and crowds of people. Some of the trains are standing room only but happily, none of the train stops take very long.
