We enjoyed our tour of the Accademia very much! Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and we learned a great deal not only about the statues but Michaelangelo’s life (which our guide clearly has a passion for). Having someone coordinate ticketing and entering the museum was also immensely valuable. Tour was primarily focused on Michaelangelo and statues, which was enough for us.

Our guide, Claudio, was especially knowledgeable and shared with us concepts and ideas that were then easily recognizable once inside the museum. Michaelangelo's various statue forms were presented as a way to understand the master's techniques and nuances that only Michaelangelo could do. We looked at all the planned works and then really had time to admire and understand the David statue very effectively. One of the members of our group recognized the importance of the base of the statue and its biblical symbolism which made the whole experience even more exciting. Thank you, Claudio!

We had a little trouble finding our tour, as we didn't read the meeting directions closely. The tour guide called us and led us to him. That was a plus as it was very busy around the entrance. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable on what we were seeing inside. He shared a lot of interesting information. Very good tour!

Michelangelo’s David was worth the frustration of massive crowds. Our guide was very knowledgeable, and personable. However, since our main focus was to see David, the tour got tedious.

We were late (lost!) and the company called and gave me directions on the phone and they waited for us which was much appreciated. Claudio was very knowledgeable and doesn't make you feel rushed like many tour guides. His English was excellent and you can see he enjoys sharing his home city and its wonderful art. This was an amazing guided tour with Claudio. Firstly it was really fun! Some tours can feel like a chore, but Claudio bought everything to life. It was a good balance between historical and fun discussion. We asked lots of questions and were able to see everything at our pace. Claudio has incredible knowledge on the art on display and able to relate it to modern life.

Incredibly detailed history of Michael Angelo’s life and art!

Claudio provided an incredibly detailed history of Michael Angelo’s life, the history of his time in Florence and Rome. Claudio brought the paintings and sculptures to life by explaining the influences of the various artists, the super detailed meanings of the art, andthe relationships and influences of the artists. It was a wonderful experience!

Informative tour

Claudio gave us a lot of information as we walked through the Accademia with our headsets on. We were in a small group, our family of four and another couple. The queue to get in was very short (5 mins). Claudio was extremely knowledgeable and it was great to learn more about the artists and hear about the history of art in Florence, right from the beginning of the Renaissance to the modern day. Claudio is clearly passionate about all of Florentine art and he guided us through the galleries and up to David where we spent a good 20 minutes learning about this masterpiece. If I had one piece of advice, it would be to try and engage the young people more. Whilst the art history knowledge was impeccable and received very well by the adults, it would have been good to have some stories or anecdotes that would catch the imagination of the teenagers, and maybe engage them with a few questions. Overall, we really enjoyed it. Thanks!

Claudio was my tour guide and he was excellent at explaining the pieces of art, musical instruments and their importance during the time periods. I got a good understanding of the influence of the Church , powerful families and the significance of symbolism used throughout the artworks by the artists. Highly recommend!

Don't be fooled by the low number of reviews. This was an incredible tour! Elena was *EXCELLENT* and super friendly. She took us to a few places that weren't scheduled since we were a group of only 4 people. The visit to the Accademia Gallery is without a doubt the one visit every person makes once in Florence. I am glad that our tour guide for to our truly small group (three people in total) was Giacomo. His knowledge of Florence, its close relation to the Medici Family, its history and the renaissance importance for our civilization is probably bar none of any other guide I had during my week stay in Florence, for which I hope I am not unfair to the other tour guides I had the pleasure to meet. Especially because the visit to see the statue of David is something of a ritual for everybody, I am more than glad that I was lucky to have him as our tour guide. Thank you Giacomo!

The tour guide was very knowledgeable and we enjoyed the fact that he led us through Florence and pointed out many other details as we were walking. The tour length was good. I would not want a tour to be longer, but if it were shorter, that would have been good too.
