We had a private tour and we learned so much Hungarian history. There is much history and our guide was so full of information. She had details about Empress Elizabeth and the Hatzbergs. The tour is worth the trip.

The palace was beautiful. But was extremely disappointed with the tour guide. We paid nearly $300 for a private tour. The tour guide , Mary, did not call prior to the tour to check with us and confirm the time. She was then late showing up for the tour, leaving us worrying if she was going to show up. Mary did not talk on the 40 minute drive to or from the palace. Mary then left us to walk outside to view the gardens for 20 minutes alone. When she began the tour she rushed through tour. If I stopped to look at any exhibit , she would come up and say we needed to hurry as we had 20 rooms to see. I asked her if the stables, ridding area had been restored and she said no, but in pictures it shows that they were restored. She just did not want us to take the time to see it. We were finished with the tour in less than 2 hours and on our way back. Very disappointed. Did not ask if we wanted to stop and have a coffee in the small coffee shop at the palace. Rushed us back to tour van, that the heater was broken. Nothing was said on the return trip. Never use Mary as a tour guide……you will be very unsatisfied. All my other private tours were wonderful.

A wonderful experience! Anna-Marie was a very knowledgeable and pleasant guide. She added tremendously to our understanding of Austrian history and the life of the castle. Our driver was the same gentleman that had brought us from the airport which was very nice. We particularly appreciated the accommodation to start the tour earlier in order to fit our schedule needs. Thank you!

Our tour with Voultran (?) was excellent. He is extremely knowledgeable, professional, accommodating and friendly. The place itself was beautiful —- it was really interesting to see the parts that had not yet been restored. A lot of work to do! It was a little disappointing to find out so much of the original furniture was missing/replaced with period pieces but we can thank the Nazis and Russians for that. I wished we had seen the palace in the summer when the gardens were blooming. The history behind the palace is like a great story… I’m forever a fan of Queen Sissy!
