Absolutely amazing day, I can’t recommend this trip enough! Gyuri was a great guide and the hike was well organised and planned taking you through beautiful countryside to the breathtaking Danube bend and then through the picturesque Ram Canyon. We were lucky enough to see the spring flowers in the forest on a beautiful clear day. Although some parts of the hike were a little strenuous they’re perfectly do-able if you have a reasonable level of fitness and a positive mindset. (I’m 56 and my husband is 61 and we were fine - although a little slower than Gyuri!) The ladders and rails in the canyon were great fun and helpful in all the right places! I thoroughly enjoyed this trip and if we’d had longer in Budapest I definitely would have done more hikes with Outdoor Adventures!

One of the best hikes I have ever done, Gyuri is an amazing guy, very knowledgeable and chatty but also gives you moments of silence to absorb the amazing views surrounding your hike. He knew when to talk and when not to, and the route we took, just got better and better, I can’t remember how many times I said WOW. Long live Hungary!

Interesting tough combination hike through a beautiful Hungarian Forest.

About 1 hour from Budapest. They offer pick ups and drop offs at many hotels. Our original guide could not make it so Attila was our guide. He spoke English well. Took us on a challenging but rewarding full day hike through Ipoli National Park. We started from Dobogoko to Predikaloszek Peak where you can have a beautiful view of the Bend of the Danube. He then took us down Vallido Rock/Cliff ( prob best to go UP the cliff rather than down the cliff— not for those with fear of height). Followed by Ram Ravine Gorge which was so much fun. There are a few metal and wood ladders that you must go up and down. This adds to the fun . We then hiked back to Dobogoko through a different but also interesting path to finish the circuit. Advise to bring 2 liters of water, good hiking shoes with good gripes, layers of clothing, your own lunch and snacks, maybe hiking poles for those that prefer it. It was fun hiking through the beautiful Hungarian forests and landscapes.

The day was amazing. Easy pick up from our hotel and then off to Dömös with two other lovely people. The hike was challenging and fun for the first part with a rewards along the way and at the top. Beautiful! The canyon area was completely different and also very fun. A different beautiful. Gyuri was our guide and he was wonderful. Shared facts on the region, shared some snacks, and was a delight to have guiding us. Would highly recommend to people who want a break from the city and want to see the beautiful nature that Hungary has to offer.

Beautiful hike! The views were absolutely stunning. I would say this hike was challenging; I’d rate it hard rather than moderate. So definitely come prepared: pack enough water, food (sandwiches, snacks) and anything you might need for the ~6 hour hike. Hiking shoes/boots are definitely recommended. Be prepared to get your heart rate up for the first half of the trail. The last part is downhill and serene. You’ll feel super accomplished when you complete the hike!

Awesome hike with equally awesome guide

I had one of the most memorable day of my life. This was my first proper hiking experience and there was rain in the morning which made me more anxious. On top of that I came with a road running shoe! But our guide Attila (the Hun!) made it all look easy and we decided to go ahead with the plan. It stopped raining by the time we started the hike. Attila was very helpful and down to earth and with another hiking friend from Netherlands, we made the first steep climb without much issues. The view of Danube bend was awesome and we had some snacks there. Attila shared the apple pie made by his mom and it was amazing. The rest of the hike was equally exciting and the gorge/canyon part with little waterfalls was very beautiful. The effort taken by Gyorgy and Attila is commendable and it’s a very personalised experience altogether and highly recommended

Gyuri takes you to the town of Dömös for a really nice hiking experience. He had excellent communication ahead of the trip to let me know what to expect. Once you reach Dömös, about an hour from Budapest, it's a 17km moderate level hike so plan accordingly. I think a pair of trail shoes or hiking boots is a must and I recommend dressing in layers to be prepared for variable weather conditions. It's also advisable to bring some water and maybe a protein bar. Gyuri was kind and offered to stop whenever I wanted for water breaks or to catch my breath on the steeper ascents. He also took some very nice pictures of me while I was hiking. Gyuri knows a lot about the ecology of the area and pointed out different species of trees and their leaves. My trip was in mid-November, which is low season so we were the only people on the trail. Due to weather conditions we didn't get the amazing views you may see in other pictures, but we got this mist that was equally as beautiful. If you're looking to get out of the city of Budapest and see Hungary's beautiful nature trails then look no further. It's a moderately difficult hike, but Gyuri is there to help you every step of the way.
