Jewish heritage tour

Scott_N, Apr 2026
We had a great time on this tour. Edith was an excellent guide, after we met, we got tickets for the subway to the shoes on the Danube memorial. She showed us how our transit ticket could be used for bus and tram also which we used later in the day on our own. We also went to several other memorials and finally to the Dohány street synagogue where she gave a great explanation of everything. Highly recommend this tour.

My wife and I have taken tours in many different cities in many different countries and this is one of the best tours we have ever taken. First of all, it was a good tour, but it was Edith, our tour guide who made this tour exceptional and so memorable. Edith made this a very personal experience and I won’t soon forget this tour, or the stories she told.

This tour was exceptional, from the in-depth knowledge of the Jewish community in Budapest to the personal sharing of experiences. Our guide was remarkable in every way. I highly, highly recommend this tour. If you're thinking of visiting Budapest, this is a MUST DO.

Excellent focused tour.

Dave_G, Mar 2025
A must see/do tour of important Jewish sites in Budapest. Edith is a fantastic guide with a deep knowledge and personal connection to the subject matter. Also, her English is excellent and I had no trouble understanding her. Between the shoes, synagogue, and memorials, the various stops were alternately beautiful and gut wrenching. Easily worth the cost of the tour and the investment of several hours.

This was an unbelievable tour . We had the best tour guide. What a great experience

Edith provided an excellent tour. She provided insights thart we would not have understood on a self guided tour and provided relatable examples to associate with the topics that we were exploring. She is extremely knowledgable of the history and cultural dimensions of the tour.

Enlightening Tour of Jewish Budapest

Marla_A, Sep 2024
Edith was an excellent tour guide. She gave us clear instructions on where to meet her and then took us to many memorable places via walking and using the rapid transit system. The "Shoes on the Danube Bank" was very impactful, and getting to go inside the Dohany Synagogue, the second largest in the world, was a wonderful experience. Edith also shared some personal stories that enlightened us about life in Budapest.

An excellent tour of Jewish Budapest

We joined Edith for a tour of Jewish Budapest. Including the Shoe monument, and the Doheny Street synagogue, cemetery, tree of life and a brief walk through the Jewish Quarter. Edith was timely and gave us accurate directions to our meeting spot. She was extremely knowledgeable, pleasant, and able to tailor our tour to our particular interests.

A Memorable day in Budapest

Deborah_T, Apr 2024
Our guide Editt met us in front of the Lutheran Church in Budapest on time. Her knowledge and use of the time we had together was well planned. While walking to the various sights she gave us the background of the sight and went into detail at the sight pointing out different facts. The pace of the tour was comfortable and we were able to ask questions along the way. No discussion was off limits and she was kind enough to share her family's story. We started at the "Shoes" along the Danube and ended at the main Synogogue and cemetery and memorial courtyard. This tour was exactly what we were looking for in terms of content , from a friendly knowledgeable guide. In the end we felt like we had made a new friend. Pick this tour because the value was there and Edith was a joy to spend the time with.

Incredible Tour

Amrita_D, Jan 2024
What a wonderful and informative tour. Edith was amazing. Not only was she able to share such insight into the Jewish Quarter, she was also able to add her own personal stories and reflections on Hungary, and Budapest over the past 70 years. If you only do one tour on your trip to Budapest, it has to be this one!

A very enjoyable 3 hours

Our guide, Edith, was friendly and informative. The highlight of the tour was the Great Synagogue but we also enjoyed the Museum. The cemetery and the Shoe Exhibit at the river’s edge were very moving. We walked at a perfect pace and even got to experience the subway. The tour was not overly expensive. I would highly recommend it.
