Everything from Timea's knowledge of history to your personal family stories made for a wonderful and memorable experience.
Don't miss this opportunity to see and experience more than just a walk in the Jewish Quarter.

Honestly this was one of the best tours I have ever taken and I have traveled for years and have taken many tours. Timea was an outstanding guide. She was extremely knowledgeable in both Jewish and Hungarian history. Our tour felt more like a conversation with a good friend than spending 4 hours with a tour guide. I learned so much about Hungary, Budapest and the Jewish community of the region. Do not miss this tour if you are in the area.

I felt like we (my sister and I), were connecting with a long lost cousin with Timea. She was so warm, her energy was incredible. She is so knowledgeable about all things Jewish, Hungarian and the history of Jews in Hungary, especially Budapest. Timea is still extremely active in the Jewish community, and has preserved her Jewish faith along to her four children. It was fascinating to hear about the Jewish community that exists now in Budapest. Our family on our fathers side was Hungarian and I just assumed mainly all the Jews had left after the Holocaust, but there is still a strong Jewish community in Budapest, which gives me lots of hope and shows the resilience of our people. The Jews live on..B’H

Best way to sum up the tour, our most memorable... ever. Tarjani, our guide, created a meaningful, informative, yet personal walk thru Budapest's Jewish Quarter. We appreciated her stories and attention to detail while sharing with us her personal connection to the area. Tarjani addressed our many questions with patience and interest ensuring we finished the tour with an even great appreciation for how the people of the Quarter lived and endured. Could not recommend joining her for a tour more highly. She is amazing. Tarjani, thank you, as you made our walk thru the Jewish Quarter very meaningful.

Beyond grateful for the privilege of having Timi share with us the Jewish Quarter.
Her knowledge, perspective and understanding of all the encompasses the history of the Jewish Quarter was exceptional. She was beyond generous with her time and kindness.
Book this walk and you’ll be so glad you did!

To me this was the most personal and soul touching tour. Timea is a history teacher, a granddaughter of holocaust survivors and a long time resident of Budapest. Her tour is personal, and she tailored it to our interest. Walking the streets felt easy with her, like a long time girlfriend telling you her history and passions. I would recommend this tour to everyone, learn about hard things and walk away with a renew commitment to life.

This Tour with our guide Timea was a wonderful experience! She shared with us a wealth of knowledge both historical and current and was more educational and enlightening than we could imagine.
I would highly recommend her and this Tour to anyone visiting Budapest.

We were worried four hours would be too much, but we really enjoyed our morning. We learned a great deal about what life was like for the Jews of Hungary historically as well as what it’s like today. We enjoyed our visits to all three synagogues, which were different enough to be worth seeing) and various memorials…and also got some great tips on restaurants and local stores. After our tour, Timmi took the time to follow up with a lengthy email with additional resources. She was great to spend time with and extremely knowledgeable.

This was an exceptional tour of the Jewish Quarter. Timea was knowledgeable about the history of Jews in Hungary, particularly Budapest, as well as the Jewish experience today. We learned quite a bit and appreciated Timea's sense of humor as well as knowledge. I would highly recommend this tour.

Awesome walking tour with Timea to learn about the Jewish history of Budapest! My family and I learned ALOT about Jewish history and culture in Budapest with her. It was a walking history lesson sprinkled in with Timea's personal stories, which we all very much enjoyed.
Timea did a great job of keeping my 2 teen boys interested and engaged. She has a lot of knowledge not just about Jewish history, but about greater Budapest too.
Timea also jumped in to help us when we needed help to get Covid tests. She made calls for us and basically saved us from navigating websites in Hungarian. She also came to the rescue when I felt faint from dehydration. She gave me her tea to drink.
She ended spending 2 extra hours with us, so we could finish the tour. She also provided recommendations after the tour was over.
If you are interested in learning about the Jewish history of Budapest, take Timea's tour! You won't be disappointed.

My partner and I had an amazing tour with Timea. She was truly a joy to spend time with. We greatly appreciated her sharing her insights of Budapest and how she also intertwined her family history. Timea is a special person who we now consider a friend .

The best thing we did in Budapest was our tour of the Jewish Quarter with Timea. I can't say enough praise for her and the tour that she gave us. She picked us up at our hotel, was prompt, and went at our pace. She taught us so much about the Jewish history in Budapest before, during and after the Holocaust. She is incredibly knowledgable and also was comfortable sharing her personal stories. We had many interesting conversations with her about what we were seeing, which really enriched our experience. We saw much more than what you see on the typical group tour. It's easy to feel a warm connection with Timea, and I can't recommend her highly enough.

Timea is great! She is very knowlegeable and shared the history of the Jewish people in Budapest as well as guide us around the Jewish Quarter. She also showed us sights that we would have never seen unless we were with her. Our family really enjoyed her tour and highly recommend Timea!

We absolutely loved our Jewish Quarter walking tour with our guide, Timea Tarjani. She was completely informed and knowledgeable, very amicable and friendly, willing to guide us to places that we requested to see, and a complete pleasure to get to know. She spent nearly the entire day with us and never made us feel rushed in any way. We also had the great pleasure to meet her husband and children - quite by coincidence. It was a thoroughly enjoyable day. We highly recommend Timea!

Time Tarjani was a superb guide-enthusiastic, knowledgeable and passionate. She pointed out the interesting sights we were walking through on our way to the Jewish neighborhoods. Her knowledge of Jewish and Hungarian history was impressive. She included some interesting sights not usually visited by other Jewish tours like the remaining wall of the Jewish ghetto. I enjoyed the tour very much, Timea is very afable and friendly. I highly recommend her.

My wife and I went on the walking tour with Timea Tarjani earlier this summer. Timea was extremely knowledgeable about the Jewish Quarter and events in the Jewish ghetto during World War II, as well as her general experience growing up under communist rule in Budapest. Her English is perfect and her stories are fascinating and sometimes heartwrenching. Timea had keys to locked, private areas that allowed us to see rare sights such as the last standing parts of the wall surrounding the Jewish ghetto during the Nazi occupation. Without Timea's guidance and access, we would have missed many of the most fascinating sights in the Jewish Quarter. I highly recommend making the walking tour a part of your Budapest experience.

We experienced as a family an unforgettable tour. The great knowledge, the human warmth, the right to meet the Jewish community of Budapest and see the world through her eyes was a very powerful experience and I highly recommend it.
