This was an amazing tour, likely made that way by our amazing guide, Bianca. She took us to three different ruin bars, to include the original more popular (and huge) one and two more local ones. They all have such different vibes and were fun and quirky in their own way. She taught us about the history and culture of drinking in Budapest and how that has changed with generations, she took us to get Langos as a yummy snack, and introduced us to Palinka (or 5)! It was a fantastic time and provided great photo-ops as well. Highly recommend.

Fanni was a great guide. We were lucky to get the tour to just be the two of us and were able to ask a lot of questions and learn about the city from a local. The ruin bars were a cool mix of found items and repurposed furniture. Our favorite was the last bar - one of the tables had a set of chairs made from a bath tub cut in half.

We had a wonderful evening with Eliz our tour guide. She took us to three ruin bars plus a stop for Langos. She entertained us with stories of the ruin bars and Hungary. She is very knowledgeable about the history and a very good host. Highly recommend!

We kicked off day 1 in Budapest with an AM to early afternoon food tour (entirely separate from this tour) and we closed it with a delightful Ruin Bar tour in the evening with Eliza, our tour guide. Our on-time start at 6pm with a casual walk through the Jewish quarter was enlightened by Eliza explaining the history of The Ghetto and how the Ruin Bars came to be. Three stops — each one quite different in its history, design and overall vibe, we appreciated learning more about Budapest over a beverage at each stop — one of which was, of course, palinka! Szimyrla Kertmozi was, by far, our favorite Ruin Bar — so many rooms, wild and crazy nonsensical decorations in every space/corner, stickers, graffiti, art and an overall chill environment with countless bars to suite your mood. Had we not signed up for this tour with Eliza, it’s possible we would have missed this can’t miss part of the Budapest experience. Definitely recommend the tour and Eliza!

This event did not feel like a guided tour. It felt like a night out. It was so much fun and a truly enjoyable time. Our guide was so incredibly personable and knowledgeable. I hated to have the evening end. I would do this again with this guide.

Our tour guide, Ferenc, was a true local with lots of historical knowledge as well as personal insight. We visited 3 bars as well as the Karajan food court, having a local snack and drinks at each. Each ruin bar had a different personality and vibe and Ferenc was on a first-name basis with the bartenders. he encouraged us to order the local drinks- I definitely recommend the Sour Cherry beer! Take this tour-you will be happy you did!

Georgi was outstanding. The second and third ruin bar were very good. The first didn’t add too much value and was empty. Food options could be flexible.

It was very comforting to be led by a guide on the maze-like streets of the district. We visited 4 bars and had Hungarian drinks in all of them. We even enjoyed a Langosh in-between two stops. Well recommended.

What a great night in the ruin bars of Budapest! We had a great time visiting them and we are very glad we took this tour. The district is like a maze and if our amazing guide, Lazlo would not have took us around we sure would got lost. Great stories and ambiance made this a lovely tour! Strongly recommended.

It was so nice to explore the ruin bars with a guide that was fun, nice, and knowledgeable. Georgia knew not only knew the history of the ruin bars, but also about so much of the Hungarian culture. I would recommend starting your vacation with Georgia as she gives you such a solid base and she’ll give you recommendations on what to see next based on your personality. This was a bucket list item for my wife. We thoroughly enjoyed visiting 4 Ruin Pub bars with our guide Norbert who did an excellent job as host and was very helpful during the whole tour. We had a wonderful time with him and highly recommend a tour with him!
